I have this sweet extremely low mileage Harley SX 125 available for sale with others but this sale is for this one. Bundling may work and the other are for sale shortly. The story on this bike is, when I was a young teen my dad would go buy parts for his 67 Electra Glide at the HD dealerships and I would stare at these and always want one. I guess we did not have enough money to buy one so now being much older and owning an automotive restoration shop I never forgot about these. One day I bought a 68 Rapido and got it to run. Awhile later I bought a SX175 and got it to run. With the high cost of parts for these bikes I thought it would be better to search out for a low mileage one and clean it up to new 76 standards. For the 125 I found a low mileage (249) unit that was in the back of a HD dealership cover in dust in SC. Parts were missing and the guy I got it from told me the carb and airbox were gone has well as the coil. The fuel tank was sweet on the outside but rusted on the inside. He stuck a Mukuni carb on it and a foam cleaner on it . I rescued it from that jack wagon and took it to the shop. I checked all that was missing and pulled out the HD parts book. I found the correct part numbers and started searching. Most was bought from the Aermachii guys in the country that deal in these parts and when they told me some parts don't exist, I found them any way. Other parts had to be found around the country/world and on eBay. Every part this bike had that was missing or deemed ugly was replaced by NOS only. Here are the NOS parts: The seat , carb, airbox assembly, coil, rear tire (Pirrelli), rear wheel, chain, muffler guard, rear tail light assembly, all amber lenses, and some blinker light chrome lense holders, fuel tank, handle bar switches, Ignition switch plate, front wheel,(has original front tire, Pirrelli) oil pump, tank stripes and lettering, 2 stroke oil lid. New none NOS battery. I was told when these bikes were new and the dealership sold them, parts from Italy were hard to get and if customers bikes needed parts fast one was cannablized. I Believe this is true of this little guy. So I had it stripped down on a bike stand and when I had enough NOS parts to start it, I tried. It bang on the third kick. After removing the side cover and cleaning the crud off the points it fired right up. I shut it off and drained the oil and removed all the clutch disc's and cleaned and resealed the side up. New HD gear oil was filled in the case and it started up and I let it run. Over time all the parts listed were added and the NOS fuel tank came to me black in color. It was scratch and chipped and had to be repaint. I was torn between the orange or black and you can see my final decision. Anything I deemed not cool enough was nickle plated and those ugly black side covers were polished after I seen how much better my MSR100 and Rapido looked from the factory this way. The red bike is an equaly sweet 1978 SS175 loaded with NOS parts (365 miles) and is up to go bye bye. The MSR100 was sold a few months ago, but the 04 Heritage Soft tail with 9500 miles is available. I have many original parts along with parts bike and many NOS 175 parts to move out. My Rapido is not for sale has that was the first bike I owned at the age of 9 The picture of the orange bike is the black one you see now. I will save the tank for wall art and seat, well it only had 249 miles on it. I will sell parts later. I asked the Harley guys how they repainted their mufflers on these bikes and I was told BBQ high temp black. Really? How uncool is that? I opted for Jet Hot Coat 1300 degree coating. There is a difference in quality with restorations and this bike is on top. The paint is base clear coat. There are no short falls on the bike except for a small tear on the back of the seat that is 1/4 inch long. That is the way it came in the factory plastic wrapper. The frame is original the way it came. This bike and red 78 SS 175 tied for first place at their first and only bike show I took them to. I am very busy and building a house and have decided to put emphis there and thin out the herd. Any questions and comment will be answered through ebay email. I can help load out if someone finds a transport guy. Pick up is better and if you don't like what you see I will refund your money on the spot. If you think you can restore a rusted up beat down bike to this quality for less, get after it. I know I am into it for over 5 Grand, but enjoyed the challenge. Runs like new and starts like it should, if you remember to turn the "Run" switch on. Pic's show it idling and caught blinker light on. New has it gets guys and would make a great X-Mass gift. I can make video and email if you are serious. No title on SX 125 175 SS and other clean and clear...
