This is a bobber I built a few years ago and sold to a friend. He has so many bikes that he hardly rode it. He is thinning down some bikes and sold it back to me. I have a clear title in my name. It is a 46 motor in a 48 chassis. It was built from the crankpin out. Fenders were made from old crowns out of skirted fenders. It starts and runs good and been fully serviced. I found this bike in Indiana last summer and purchased it over the phone. I was going to Indiana to see some friends so I figured I would pick it up then. The Indian was sold to me with the understanding that I would get a clear Indiana title, I picked up the Indian but never got the title. So..it is being sold on a Bill of Sale. Titles are not that hard to get in most states. THE COMPLETE BIKE SHOWN IS AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT THIS BIKE COULD LOOK LIKE AND WAS THE COMPLETED GOAL OF THIS RESTORATION. THE RESTORED BIKE PICTURED IS NOT MINE AND IT IS NOT THE BIKE I AM SELLING This is an original matching numbers Indian Chief with the frame number of 346383 and engine number of CDF383. It has not been re-stamped. The man I bought it from was restoring it for a local attorney, it sat in his shop for a couple of years and he managed to ruin the wheels by letting them rust so I had a new set of 18" wheels built by Jerry Greer's. I had the frame and front end powder coated along with all the black parts. The front end is newly built with new bushing and springs. The engine needs to be rebuilt but is complete with the correct carburetor. There are a few damaged fins on the heads and cylinders but it survived quite well. The rear fender, tool box, correct one year chain guard, and generator shroud are reproductions. I believe the tanks and front fender are original. I had the generator rebuilt by Indian frank and it is now a 12 volt generator with and electronic regulator. I have almost all the small bits such as the bell cranks, brake rods, etc. but they are at the CAD plater. I show pictures of these parts unplated but they will be as new. I have a set of reproduction CAD plated fasteners for the bike as well The front and rear brakes and hubs are in a box as I was going to send them to Jerry Greer's for restoration, they are complete. I bought this bike from the nephew of the original owner. It is a numbers matching mag bike that has never been restored in any way. When I got it the mag gave me trouble so i put on a 47 pump and a distributor and it starts and runs great with zero smoke. I changed the grips and spirals to left shift and right throttle with parts that came with the bike but every thing is there to change it back. I put on an old harley police seat that matched the age of the bike so the buddy seat could be saved in its original condition. I put on a new exhaust from Greers and aged it to match the bike. The wheels are 18" and the tires are from the sixties which I aired up and went riding. The extra engine is a 48 that is apart but is complete from pump to 344 carb with sediment bowl. I miked the cylinders and they are stock bore and the valves sit high. I checked the plug threads in heads and the fins are fine. A friend said the bottom end could be run as is but i figured if you were to rebuild it go ahead and do the the rods and mains. I was going to rebuild it but have headed in a different direction. There are a lot of parts. there is 3 trans cases with which 2 are good including towers. There is a couple of generators with mounts and a ton of other stuff that go with the bike. I am selling the bike because i want to learn to fly and I am going to get a short field plane or build one . My name is Joe and I can be reached at 928 241 1490. Absolutely gorgeous bike painted in Porsche Red. Frame off restoration completed in 2000, it then resided unused in a personal collection on display until the spring 2012 when I purchased it. I’ve ridden her approximately 250 miles since buying. Engine and Frame numbers match, everything works. Alabama does not title old motorcycle, so there will only be a bill of sale with the purchase of the bike. I do have the Michigan title from the previous owner.
