Classic 1962 Harley Davidson SCAT BTH 175cc Oversize rear sprocket Great Condition 95% Restored. Purchased from original owner, this motorcycle has never been titled or registered. I regret that I am forced to sell prior to completion due to health, recent major Spine Surgery has left me incapacitated for now. This has been a work in progress and labor of love. It is was not my intent to make it mint just bring it back and make it good once more. The pictures tell the story. New Piston, Rings, Rod wrist bearing Carburetor rebuilt, Engine has strong spark and compression, minor carburetor adjustment will have engine running like new Shift lever is smooth through all gears and kick starter in excellent condition. Throttle cable a bit stiff but works fine Brakes work great and have plenty of padding left Complete Frame, Fuel Tank, lamp housings and misc hardware have been Powder coated I have applied the base coat to the fenders, was working on tank clear coat All items complete and original except front fender (modified aftermarket) horn. Speedometer is OEM HD but not for this model, the speedo cable and hardware are included and may need to be modified to function. I will include the original horn, headlamp lens, all misc hardware including extra carb parts, extra wiring, connectors and shielding, repair manual, wiring instructions and schematics Remaining work could be accomplished in just a few days, wiring and cables mostly, comes with original wiring harness, current wiring is connected to the engine starting system, lamps have connecting wires attached and accessory electronics need to connect to magneto generator it is a very simple system and instructions will be included. The brake, throttle and clutch cables are complete but also need adjusting. There is nothing I would like more than to finish the job but I must accept the hand I have been dealt for now and move on. You will love this ride

I’m listing this machine for a good friend who’s not very computer savvy.. If I was going to buy a Harley, this would be the bike. I think the early Sportster truly captures the essence of the 60's American hot-rod culture. It's a raw, primal machine with the only the bare necessities. Almost from the model's debut, riders wanted higher performance and meaner looks for the XL Sportsters. America's response to the British invasion, the '62 went down the 1/4 mile in 14.3 seconds - establishing the Sportster as the King of the Hill. First offered in 1958, legend insisted that the last two letters in the model name stood for "Competition Hot." Delivered as an off-road scrambler with bobbed rear fender and the peanut gas tank borrowed from the 125cc Hummer, the CH was a good 40 pounds lighter than the road model. All XLs got bigger valves and more horsepower that year, but the CH's power-to-weight ratio was superior. Overnight the scramblers sprouted lights, giving riders one of the hottest bikes on the street. By 1962 lights had become standard equipment, the headlamp with its now-iconic "eyebrow" mount. This remarkably well-preserved example came out of Willi Marewski's museum in Florida and has the Akront aluminum rims as well as the rare hi-mount exhaust. The current owner had originally planned to restore the machine, but it's been on display in his collection since its acquisition. 3,738 miles showing on the speedo - He hasn't fired the bike, but it kicks through with good compression and has been properly storage prep'd. Hi-resolution pics on my Flickr page. The machine is located in Whitby, Ontario, Canada (just east of Toronto).
