I have a CB77 for sale that has been restored about a decade ago. It runs perfectly and has a title, which is not in my name due to the fact that I do not need a title for this bike to be registered where I live. The bike has recently been tuned up which included:Carb cleaning and sync up.Timing checked and adjusted.Oil changed.New battery.New Tach cable.New Speedo housing and gasket.New gas cap gasket.New gas hoses. Things that are not so great:Speedo does not work.Electric Start does not work. ( It did work a month ago, I believe the start switch on handlebars needs to be fixed. It was finicky when it did work.) Some scratches and dings. Paint bubbling around gas cap. ( The new gasket should help stop that.)Ding on backside of front fender.Ding on chain guard.Engine has never been repainted and it shows the age. The rstoration was done with almost all the original parts in tact, therefore they are showing age and thats what originally lured me to this bike. It has been garage kept and it takes 1 kick to start. The bike has not been ridden a lot since the restoration, but and odometer does not show true mileage due to the speedo not working. The tachometer does work however. I have ridden it around 100 miles since the last oil change. The tires are basically new and the brakes work just fine (like old drums should). The air filters are not original to the bike, but the carbs have been adjusted to the new ones. The seat is in great condition and still has the original HONDA on the back. Note that the engine and frame numbers do not match, this IS normal for early model Hondas. I would be worried if they did match. The bike shifts great, but it can be difficult to put into neutral while stopped ( I always get into neutral while still rolling). The bike has been very reliable the time I have owned it. The bike also has both side and center stands which I never see on these bikes. The bike is worthy to be a great daily driver and will turn heads in town. If you have any other questions do not hesitate to ask.

It is remembered today as Honda's first sportbike. It is a landmark model in Honda's advances in Western motorcycle markets of the 1960s, for its speed and power as well as its reliability, and is regarded as one of the bikes that set the paradigm for modern motorcycles. The CB77 had, at only 305cc, a relatively big engine in comparison to most other Japanese bikes of the period, although it had performance to rival much larger motorcycles from other countries. It quickly built a reputation for reliability, and was equipped with luxuries such as an electric starter. The CB77 was built on the experience Honda had gained in Grand Prix racing, and differed greatly from previous models. It had a steel-tube frame instead of the pressed frames of earlier Hondas, and a telescopic front fork. The parallel twin engine (the biggest then available in a Honda) was an integral element of the bike's structure, providing stiffness in a frame that had no downtube, and was capable of 9,000 rpm. It could propel the bike at over 100 mph; as fast as British parallel twins with higher displacements, and with great reliability. It is now regarded as 'the first modern Japanese motorcycle...that established the motorcycle paradigm that we still operate under now, more than forty years later. Honda also produced a lower-powered 247 cc (15.1 cu in) version called the CB72 Hawk, which otherwise had the same specifications. In 1962, Honda introduced an off-road bike, the CL72 250 Scrambler, with the same engine as the Hawk but with a different, full-cradle frame with a skid plate and other adjustments for off-road use. In 1965, the CL77 305 Scrambler appeared, with the (bigger) engine of the Super Hawk but otherwise similar to the CL72

Up for sale is my 1967 Honda CL77 Scrambler 300 with the legendary 305 twin cylinder engine. This bike was and is beyond cool. It bleeds nostalgia. It was the dual sport version of the CB and featured a stronger frame with higher ground clearance and upswept dual exhaust. It was clad with knobby tires and long travel suspension. This bike conjures up images of James Dean and Elvis Presley; and the naked girl riding in circles around Kowalski in the movie Vanishing Point. This is a survivor bike in very good operating and cosmetic condition. It has less than 8400 original miles. It is complete and and it starts right up, shifts smooth and stops as it should. It has had a recent tune up including carb service, new air filters and intake boots, spark plugs and oil service. The front shocks were overhauled and resealed. The tank was cleaned and resealed. It has brand new tires (not shown in these photos). There is a little surface rust on the rear chrome fender and on the lower handlebar but nothing to apologize for on this great riding bike. Vintage bikes are commanding lots of attention and the 305 Scramblers are as hot as they come.I am the third owner. The original owner's California title was lost and was subsequently sold on bills of sale. Title searches in California and Texas came up clean. The pictures tell the rest of the story. This bike is located in the Dallas, Texas area (75088) and as it is offered for sale locally I reserve the right to end the auction early per ebay policy. Sold on Bill of Sale. Buyer responsible for local pick up or shipping. Will store for a reasonable period of time but full payment required as specified. Send questions through ebay relay. Inspections welcomed. Enjoy the pictures...

OK, here's the deal. I ran a Honda repair shop from 1967-71 outside SF. I obviously was young then. The 68 CL450 was by far my favorite bike . So I got very good and rebuilding them etc. Now I'm in my 60's and do about 2 of these a winter and maybe a CL77 (305), that are restorations of value from 1800-3500. Many  on Ebay. Actually all were sold on Ebay. So I always wanted to keep one, build one the way I wanted for my self but, could not afford to keep. I saved the 68 CL tank, seat and side covers just for me to use until the bike I was selling sold. This bike I built from many of the best parts from the last 4 years. The frame was powder coated by another that was in the process and it's really a CB, IE the Serial #. New, old style front fender, complete rebuild with valves done along with rings and gaskets etc. Electric starter works great, new tires, new battery, levers, and much more new as well. Kept the old vintage electrical, saved the best headlight bucket and such. I've had it running for about 4 mos. now and the last picture shows how I've treated her. Under cover's in the Garage. Even the License plate holder is yellow CL450. The only bad thing is the tank's paint right around the neck was spoiled with gas before it might have been dry? Didn't notice before it was too late. Don't have time now to re paint, the boat business is crazy good and that's what I'm best with. The color is 1968 Corvette Yellow, so the paint can be matched easily. This time because I now realize that I'm not going to really ride like I thought, I'm letting the tank, seat and cover's go with this bike. Hate to let this go, won't run across this nice of equipment in my price range again. I know you or I can buy here an original 68 for around 4-5K then have work to do still. So this might be an option to those who want nice but, don't need all the nos. to match. Write with any questions before bidding. Clean title here in Wa. in my name. Buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements and costs, but, I'll help in easier delivery to the Seattle area or ?  Will gladly paint another tank and side cover's your colors, I would love to keep this set.Obviously this won't be released until the funds are in my bank account and cannot be stolen. Do not bid if you're not serious, I will cancell all that do with under 20 purchases unless we write first. Been burned by rookies here once, won't happen again. Good luck, have fun!
