Up for sale is my 1967 Honda CL77 Scrambler 300 with the legendary 305 twin cylinder engine. This bike was and is beyond cool. It bleeds nostalgia. It was the dual sport version of the CB and featured a stronger frame with higher ground clearance and upswept dual exhaust. It was clad with knobby tires and long travel suspension. This bike conjures up images of James Dean and Elvis Presley; and the naked girl riding in circles around Kowalski in the movie Vanishing Point. This is a survivor bike in very good operating and cosmetic condition. It has less than 8400 original miles. It is complete and and it starts right up, shifts smooth and stops as it should. It has had a recent tune up including carb service, new air filters and intake boots, spark plugs and oil service. The front shocks were overhauled and resealed. The tank was cleaned and resealed. It has brand new tires (not shown in these photos). There is a little surface rust on the rear chrome fender and on the lower handlebar but nothing to apologize for on this great riding bike. Vintage bikes are commanding lots of attention and the 305 Scramblers are as hot as they come.I am the third owner. The original owner's California title was lost and was subsequently sold on bills of sale. Title searches in California and Texas came up clean. The pictures tell the rest of the story. This bike is located in the Dallas, Texas area (75088) and as it is offered for sale locally I reserve the right to end the auction early per ebay policy. Sold on Bill of Sale. Buyer responsible for local pick up or shipping. Will store for a reasonable period of time but full payment required as specified. Send questions through ebay relay. Inspections welcomed. Enjoy the pictures...

This 50 year old Honda was purchased on August 9, 1967 in New Jersey to be used as transportation for college. After graduation the original owner moved to Ohio where the bike was put into storage. The Honda is equipped with all original parts except for the tires, which I replaced with Dunlop Universals because the originals were unsafe due to their age. I believe this bike to be rare with chrome fenders, chain guard and headlight which was offered to high volume dealers. As you can see, the bike is in very good condition for its age and runs well. Much would have to be done to make it pristine, but likely it would be well worth it. Included is the Original owners manual, tool kit, Certificate of Ownership, keys and a Clymer service manual. This bike is only available in the continental USA and the sale will be final, with no return. The winner will make all arrangements to ship the bike. I can assist once the transport company is here. Please feel free to ask any question regarding the bikes condition or provenance.

You are bidding on a 1967 Honda 305 Scrambler with right at 15,000 miles. This is a beautiful bike, runs great, and has recently been completely tuned. The bike has been entirely re-chromed with the exception of the rims, and has been garage kept since. It was also professionally painted at a local body shop. When I bought the bike in 2007, I restored it, and replaced many parts with authentic vintage honda parts. The new parts include: clutch and springs, coils and condensor, tires and tubes, headlight seal beams, cables, rebuilt carbs, gas tank emblems, shocks, battery and more... I spent years on this restoration, making it just like the one I had as a child. Now I am forced to part with this very special bike, it is the last of my collection. If you have any questions about this bike, please email Richard at [email protected]

This is a 1967 Honda CL77 from the Hamilton Honda Motorcycle collection in Apache Junction, Arizona. This CL77 has been on display in our collection until recently when it was move out to make room for new acquisitions. This Honda 305 is an original rider in very good condition and drives well. It has had a recent service including new clutch, new battery, carburetors cleaned and reset, and new points and condenser. It has new Dunlop K70 tires as the original tires are no longer available. The tank, fenders and side covers were professionally painted by Dave Wedlake of Portland, Oregon a few years ago. The remainder of the bike is original. This bike was a trade-in at Bob Lamphere’s Beaverton Honda in Portland, Oregon many years ago. It was reconditioned by the Lamphere staff back then and when the original speedometer was found to be faulty, it was replaced with a NOS one from stock. That is why the odometer shows close to no miles on the bike. The actual miles are unknown. The bike was on display at the Beaverton dealership for many years before we obtained it. Please note that this CL77 has straight pipes and no silencer. There are some slight tears in the seat cover as shown in the pictures. Wheel rims have slight discolored areas common to this model after 50 years. The CL77 has a clear Washington State title. Note: A comparable CL77 sold at the Mecum Las Vegas auction on January 26, 2017 for $7000 plus 10% commission. Details can be found on Mecum.com LV motorcycle auction results page. Please Note: Bidders with feedback scores of less than 10 and/or outside of the USA and Canada must have permission before bidding, otherwise their bids may be canceled.

Time to let someone else enjoy my classic. Just turned 70 and can't ride a motorcycle anymore- doctor's orders. Too shakey, replacement hip joint, ruptured back disc. This old Vietnam Vet is shot to heck. Don't want the bike to just sit in the garage, let it pass to someone who will enjoy it. This is THE 305 Scrambler to have as it is the eye catching Honda Scarlet (red) and silver. I had the far more common Black and silver bike back in 1965 as a kid in the Air Force. I would estimate that only 1 in 4 or 1 in 5 of the 305 Scramblers were the red and silver, by far there were a lot more of the less flashy black and silver bikes. And so it is today. The bike that gets the stares, the bike that get the raves is the red and silver. It is THE ONE to have, colorwise. And original red and silvers will bring the highest money. Look at the pictures and tell me the red and silver isn't the best color combination. And, they don't grow on trees. I have had this bike about 10 years. Came from a museum in Kansas. I have some receipts. The cylinder head was bored (350 Wisco Kit? I can't prove it.) and new pistons, bearings, chain, etc. done. Top end is quiet because of the money spent. IT NEEDS CLUTCHwork. It is drivable, I have put about 200 miles on it over the last decade. Email me and I'll discuss the work needed which will cost about $400 estimated by Honda expert and friend of mine, Bill Silvers who wrote the Honda Buyer's Guide for Motorbooks a few years back. I HAVE ADJUSTED MY PRICE $500 DOWN TO GIVE YOU THE ROOM TO HAVE THE CLUTCHWORK DONE AND HAVE A PAINTSHOP TOUCH UP MINOR SCRATCHES ON THE TANK AND REAR FENDER AND ONE FRONT FORK. I also include a box full of used parts to include a complete clutchbasket for any needed spare parts and no charge with the bike. Extra carbs, rare seamed gas tank and more. Free with the bike at the Buy It Now Price. I am not one to take advantage of a buyer, please email for any further details. This bike is a nice piece, not perfect, but about a 95 out of 100, points Show. Could be 98 or 99 with very little expense, but then it is not something you want to ride--and riding this bike brings back memories of that deep bass exhaust roar with the Snuff-Or-Nots wide open. That sounds on these Scramblers is what MADE HONDA in the 1960's. Once you heard it, you will never forget it. Music. That scared Harley, Triumph, BSA, and Lambretta owners! This is a nice bike. I put expensive electronic ignition on it and what a difference that made for the better. I live at 5,000 feet and gas here is crap. It has so much alcohol in it I have had to have the carbs cleaned of a white residue twice in 4 years of living here. I had the carbs cleaned last fall and the tank is mostly empty and the maintenance free battery was new 2 years ago and has been kept on a Battery Tender. I have a pigtail that comes out from under the seat so the battery can be charged without removing the seat. The bike should start and run with the addition of new gas. Tires are matched and excellent. Tool kit under seat. Here is why my price is very fair. Much NOS was obtained for this bike 20 years ago. The chrome on the rims front and rear is gorgeous. NO PITS from standing water like happens to these rims. Are they NOS from when the museum did the bike in the 1990's? I don't have proof, but they sure look NOS. The horn is NOS, taillight, chain, and a few other parts, hard to find today. A bargain for the new owner. The "HONDA" front fender racing plaque and headlight Honda Wing are repops from Thailand. This is a darn nice bike. The price is very fair. The condition is excellent with room for minor improvements. THE COLOR IS RIGHT!!!!! FOB Kanab, Utah. Please buy my bike, give it a good home beyond my lifetime and your money will help me pay medical bills to try and fix as best that can be done the ruptured disc in my back beyond what Obama will pay.

OK, here's the deal. I ran a Honda repair shop from 1967-71 outside SF. I obviously was young then. The 68 CL450 was by far my favorite bike . So I got very good and rebuilding them etc. Now I'm in my 60's and do about 2 of these a winter and maybe a CL77 (305), that are restorations of value from 1800-3500. Many  on Ebay. Actually all were sold on Ebay. So I always wanted to keep one, build one the way I wanted for my self but, could not afford to keep. I saved the 68 CL tank, seat and side covers just for me to use until the bike I was selling sold. This bike I built from many of the best parts from the last 4 years. The frame was powder coated by another that was in the process and it's really a CB, IE the Serial #. New, old style front fender, complete rebuild with valves done along with rings and gaskets etc. Electric starter works great, new tires, new battery, levers, and much more new as well. Kept the old vintage electrical, saved the best headlight bucket and such. I've had it running for about 4 mos. now and the last picture shows how I've treated her. Under cover's in the Garage. Even the License plate holder is yellow CL450. The only bad thing is the tank's paint right around the neck was spoiled with gas before it might have been dry? Didn't notice before it was too late. Don't have time now to re paint, the boat business is crazy good and that's what I'm best with. The color is 1968 Corvette Yellow, so the paint can be matched easily. This time because I now realize that I'm not going to really ride like I thought, I'm letting the tank, seat and cover's go with this bike. Hate to let this go, won't run across this nice of equipment in my price range again. I know you or I can buy here an original 68 for around 4-5K then have work to do still. So this might be an option to those who want nice but, don't need all the nos. to match. Write with any questions before bidding. Clean title here in Wa. in my name. Buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements and costs, but, I'll help in easier delivery to the Seattle area or ?  Will gladly paint another tank and side cover's your colors, I would love to keep this set.Obviously this won't be released until the funds are in my bank account and cannot be stolen. Do not bid if you're not serious, I will cancell all that do with under 20 purchases unless we write first. Been burned by rookies here once, won't happen again. Good luck, have fun! Powered by eBay Turbo ListerThe free listing tool. List your items fast and easy and manage your active items. On Aug-04-15 at 20:31:45 PDT, seller added the following information: The bike is Located in Ocean Shores, Wa. but can be delivered to the "East Side"  Tacoma, Olympia, Issaquah etc.

It is remembered today as Honda's first sportbike. It is a landmark model in Honda's advances in Western motorcycle markets of the 1960s, for its speed and power as well as its reliability, and is regarded as one of the bikes that set the paradigm for modern motorcycles. The CB77 had, at only 305cc, a relatively big engine in comparison to most other Japanese bikes of the period, although it had performance to rival much larger motorcycles from other countries. It quickly built a reputation for reliability, and was equipped with luxuries such as an electric starter. The CB77 was built on the experience Honda had gained in Grand Prix racing, and differed greatly from previous models. It had a steel-tube frame instead of the pressed frames of earlier Hondas, and a telescopic front fork. The parallel twin engine (the biggest then available in a Honda) was an integral element of the bike's structure, providing stiffness in a frame that had no downtube, and was capable of 9,000 rpm. It could propel the bike at over 100 mph; as fast as British parallel twins with higher displacements, and with great reliability. It is now regarded as 'the first modern Japanese motorcycle...that established the motorcycle paradigm that we still operate under now, more than forty years later. Honda also produced a lower-powered 247 cc (15.1 cu in) version called the CB72 Hawk, which otherwise had the same specifications. In 1962, Honda introduced an off-road bike, the CL72 250 Scrambler, with the same engine as the Hawk but with a different, full-cradle frame with a skid plate and other adjustments for off-road use. In 1965, the CL77 305 Scrambler appeared, with the (bigger) engine of the Super Hawk but otherwise similar to the CL72
