I'm listing my 1969 Silver Tag CT70 in un-restored condition. I bought this bike from the second owner because it was so original and complete. I have decided to list it for sale now because I want to focus on other projects and even if I do a complete restore on this bike I would not ride it because of it's rare parts. I have almost started restoring this bike a few times but I have stopped because I think it might fit into an un-restored original category. I'm listing it this way to let the next owner decide how they would like it. This bike was sold new in January of 1970 in Tucson, AZ. I have the original registration that was issued by Honda of Tucson. I purchased it from the second owner who worked at Honda of Tucson and knew the people who bought it originally. He bought it from them in 1983 and it has been stored ever since. I have replaced the fuel lines and rebuilt the carburetor to get it running. Otherwise, I have not touched it but I thought it needed to be running. This Silver Tag has all of the unique silver tag features I'm aware of. Correct speedo with unique high beam inidcator, exhaust with blunt end, front fender with the lip on it, bolt-on tool kit under seat, unique 2 part horn, tail light wire routing, plastic brake levers, screws for the chain guard, and all fasteners with the number 8 on them. There are more unique items like the straight bracket for the rear brake plate etc. I have seen a list of all these differences but if you know about these bikes you probably know about all these early build date items too. I know this bike left the factory with all these parts and they are all in tact. The exhaust is complete and does not have any pinholes. I got it running a few weeks ago and I was very surprised to find all the lights working. So, everything works and it rides very well. I put about 4 miles on it…brake lights work, high and low beam, instrument backlight, all of it! Very cool for how long it sat. The engine does not smoke and it runs nice and quiet. It was awesome to go for a spin on it and even the tires were not completely awful even though they are pretty stiff from all this time in Arizona. Please be aware of one issue:In order to ride the bike it has a problem under the clutch cover that needs to be addressed. It makes noise when leaned to one side in neutral. Once in gear the noise is gone and you can ride it. I have chatted with a few engine experts who believe this to be the kick-start gear spring failing and allowing it to make contact after starting while the engine is in neutral. I can't promise this is the problem, it could require clutch friction plates or other parts. There is no way to know for sure unless you pull the clutch cover. I'm confident this would not be more than a couple hundred dollars in parts but I have not done it because I did not want to put tool marks on the screws holding the cover on. This won't matter for a display bike but it would need to be fixed if you want to ride it. A few of the pictures I'm showing here are without the carburetor and air-cleaner on the bike. I took those when I pulled the gas tank to replace the fuel lines and rebuilt the carburetor. The bike is all back together. Please let me know if you have any questions. I will work with the buyer on coordinating shipping. Thanks for looking.

1969 Honda Ct 70 TRAIL, I got this bike when I was in 3rd grade with bean walking money. I was born in1981. This bike belonged to an older neighbor couple that only put 60miles on it after buying it new. Still runs great, needs a headlight, the left side case over chain has a little piece chunked out. Tires are in great conditions. 3-speed automatic. 1-3 down 3-1 up. 2300 miles with working odometer. Pictures are with it unwashed and straight out of the garage. This not only runs, but needs little to restore the back to mint. Folks, there isn't many of these toys out there still running with decals and chrome to boot. $1,500.00 5152497229

Both bikes are pristine!! Nothing has been broken or replaced on them, this is a once in a lifetime find! Both bikes kick over and start on the first or second kick every time :) they run as well as when they were bought. If your a collector, you have to check these machines out! 1972 Honda CT70 TRAIL 70, 1972 Honda Trail 70 CT70 - The Honda Motorcycles CT70, a.k.a. ?Trail 70,? traces its lineage to the Honda Z series we know today as the Z50. Honda participated in a motorsports-themed amusement park in Tokyo, Japan called ?Tama Tech? and in 1961 the company put in service a mini-motorcycle for the children. By 1969 Honda produced the Z50A for the US market. Officially released in 1969 as the ?DAX Honda? ST70Z for general export this completely new mini-bike kept with the Z50 tradition of being portable, but with a larger 72cc motor and frame. Offered to the US market, also in 1969, and sold simply as Honda not DAX Honda was the ?Trail 70? model CT70. The CT was offered only in a dual-purpose (on/off road) configuration. This CT70 was technically known as the ?CT70 type two? configuration of the DAX line-up. This little CT70 is a remarkable bit of history that must be seen to be believed.

Offered is my 1971 Honda CT70. There is not much that is stock. Features, in stream of consciousness order: Frame stripped bare, shot blasted and painted the 1969 color (just because I like it better). Faithful reproductions of all original stickers are placed under the professionally applied PPG urethane clearcoat. Repowered with Daytona 150cc engine. Daytona is not a Chinese company, they are a Japanese company. The metallurgy and quality control is superior. It is not a “big bore” copy of the Honda 70 motor like some others; this has a gear set matched to its power characteristics. Parts, should you ever need them, are readily available and I will provide all the info that came with it. The original CT70 engine was 5 hp. The 150 Daytona has 12.5:1 compression and more than three times the HP. Four speed, CDI, 28mm Keihin carb, K&N filter, 10-core oil cooler, full-bore exhaust. Yes, it is scary quick and the top speed is close to twice that of the best CT70 ever. As I have it geared it cruises comfortably in the 50-60 mph range. It will go faster but if that is what you want to do you should probably be riding your other bike. OK, so if you can go fast then to be safe you need the chassis to match. Has a wider-stance male-slider fork with tapered roller head bearings. Hydraulic front disk brake. Aluminum wheels with 120/90-10 Michelin Reggae tires, the rear is brand new. I didn’t wear that tire out; I did something stupid and cut it. The handlebars look like CT70 and still fold like CT70 but are both taller and wider and more suitable for an adult. These bikes were made for kids, remember? Air/oil rear shocks. Seat was replaced and is still like new. The ride is surprisingly nice. Let’s be clear here, it is still a “monkey bike”, but with nicely compliant suspension that is very un-CT70 like. The scratch-free windshield is of course well below eye level and acts more like a fairing. Ok, so the CT70 had a 0.4 gallon tank under the seat. Well, with a 28mm carb that won’t get you too far, so this hot rod has a 2.5 gallon keg tank mounted in a Shad 40L top box . That is the primary tank and the 0.4 gallon under-seat original now acts as the reserve. There is still room in the box for your sweater and gloves etc. but don’t think you are going to store your helmet in there. All hardware is stainless steel. The original speedo had a 50 mph max and so it eventually failed. I just replaced it with one good to 80 mph so that problem is solved. Personally I ran a gps on it and always used that because it was easier for me to see. The gps shown in the photos will be removed and is not included in this auction. The bike has about 1,200 miles on it, 100% on pavement. The donor had like 1,700 miles on it but that is irrelevant. The entire electrical system is new; no brittle old Honda stuff. Has a helmet lock and a lifting handle. Comes with a couple of new heavy duty tubes and spare sparkys. Has a clear PA title and a new PA inspection good through 8/31/2016. The buyer gets every paper involved in the build so you will know where every single part came from. You will get photos of the original donor bike. I did not build this for profit; I built it to my specs for my own use. The problem is, I am 58 now and she is just sitting while the comfy touring bikes are getting all the exercise. I am not a desperate seller. I invested $5,000 and a lot of time I this. My reserve is less than half of that. I realize this bike is not for everyone but look at what stock old CT70s are selling for with their 38 mph down a hill engines and pogo stick suspensions. Bid: You will not be disappointed. The one downside of owning this bike is that every time you stop somebody is going to come over and say “I had one just like that when I was a kid”. And of course you will be thinking “OK, Pal”. Buyer is responsible for pickup. If buyer arranges pickup I will see that bike gets on truck at mutually agreed time. I may be able to deliver within a few hours drive of western PA if buyer covers costs but this must be pre-discussed and agreed upon.

This auction is for a 1969 Honda Z50. This bike is powered by a totally rebuilt CT70H 4 speed manual clutch motor. This bike has one of the coolest paint jobs I've ever seen on a mini bike. The color combination is awesome and the pin striping is really cool. The custom airbrushed 50's Diner theme on the tank is unreal. The paint job on this bike with the custom air brushing was $3500 alone. Must be seen to fully appreciate the depth and detail of the mural. This bike has a title and can be registered. This bike is listed locally and I reserve the right to end this listing early. Check my other listings to see my other bikes for sale. Please 'call' Scott at 732-539-7996 with questions.
