For your serious consideration, this is a rare, unrestored, original, survivor that has been well cared for over the past 41 years. The only two items that have been relplaced are the battery and the tires. The original seat was removed years ago in order to preserve it in its excellent condition. Both seats will be passed on to the next collector. One of the many unique aspects to this Z1 are the original, stamped 1973 exhaust pipes. I can't recall seeing another Z1 with the original exhaust on E-Bay or elsewhere in years. Most riders replaced their pipes with a Kerker back in the 1970s. This Z1 also has the original chain oiler which is still connected and in operating condition. All date codes, including the swing arm, wheels, and switch blocks have been verified and are correct. I would like to stress that this is not your normal restored example of the Z1 that you normally see here on E-Bay. Most of them were basket cases that were rebuilt using reproduction parts. You can rebuild these bikes many times, however they are only original once! As with any 41 year old motorcycle there are a few minor, cosmetic signs of wear on this Z1 that you would expect to see, however this is normal for the age and original nature of this bike. I had the carbs rebuilt last year. The bike starts right up, does not smoke, shifts through the gears and runs flawlessly! The oil was changed this year using Mobil-1 synthetic. I only use 93 octane, ethnal-free gas in all of my bikes. Serious bidders only please! If you don't have the funds, need to check with your wife, or are not a serious buyer, then please don't waste your time or mine. Thank you for your interest! This is a rare opportunity for one serious collector to add a unique piece of history to their collection that will surely appreciate over time. The 1973 model was the first year for the Z1. It was nicknamed the "New York Steak Project" by the Japanese and was designed to dominate over the Honda 750. There is a video from the fall of 1972 on U-Tube showing a test of three Z1 bikes at Daytona. The factory bikes were clocked by radar in that video at 160 MPH! Shipping is the sole responsibility and expense of the buyer, however I will assist your shipper with loading the bike on this end. I have had success with U-Ship in the past and have found them to be reasonable with their prices.
