1972 Honda CT 70 H Frame # - 2014950 Engine # - 215067 Excellent original condition. Always properly stored when not in use. Original candy yellow special paint. Runs excellent , all gears operate as they should. New points , condenser , spark plug , air filter , battery , tires , etc. Needs nothing. The bike was purchased new at Langston Honda located in Anderson , Indiana. Production date of February 1972. Original paperwork is still with the bike. Included with sale is the original owners manual , original title , original warranty card , and a previous registration. The bike also still has the tool kit under the seat , 2 factory keys, rubber frame cover , plastic on rear brake foot pedal , battery strap , etc. This a very nice example of an original H model CT 70. This is a 1972 Honda CT70H K1. It comes with a clear Ohio title that states it is a 1973, but according to Honda it is a 1972. Date of manufacture on neck tube tag is 2/72. I believe just about everything on this bike is original with the exception of the seat. The seat was professionally recovered at an upholstery shop. The seat pan is original. Engine starts up on the first or second kick, and runs great. The bike shifts through all 4 gears smoothly, and rides straight. The whole electrical system is intact and works properly. Brakes are good and function as intended. The handlebars even fold down easily which is often times not the case. Helmet holder works also. Frame number is CT70H-2016418. Engine number is CT70HE-216576. Paint and chrome are in pretty good condition for the bike's age. Tires are original Bridgestone Trail Wings and still have lots of meat on them. I only noticed a few minor cracks in the sidewalls. There are some dents and some rust as shown in pics. Bike is offered with local pick up only. Up for auction is a 1972 Honda Ct70 H 4 speed clutch model. Engine: Engine completely disassembled, shift forks replaced. Transmission gears look great. New Honda kick start shaft and new kick start lever. New Vesrah gaskets throughout, all new Honda seals throughout, clutch completely rebuilt with new friction and steel plates, new clutch springs. New Honda piston and rings. Cylinder Head rebuilt with new Japanese Valves and Honda Valve Springs. Carb rebuilt with new gasket and packings. New Honda cam sprockets and DID cam chain. Does not smoke or leak oil. Runs and shifts as it should. Frame/Body: Paint is original Candy Ruby Red, has some scratches and chips but is not sun faded. Not bad for a 43 year old Mini Trail. New Vesrah brake shoes front and rear. New wheel bearings front and rear. New clutch cable. All new rubber grommets on frame and handlebars. New Handlebars are exact copies of the original Honda CT70. New DID drive chain. Front and Rear drive sprockets look good and have a lot of life left on them. Rear fender is like new with no rust or dents, front fender is rust free but has some dents here and there. Rims were sandblasted and repainted. Tires are about 65% tread still there. Completely New Throttle assembly with new Honda Grips. Electrical: New maintenance free battery, points and condenser replaced. All lights work as they should, charging system working fine and is recharging battery. Lights in speedo are working and speedo works fine. New Honda High/Low dimmer switch. 2nd Generation Honda CT70 K1. The 3 speed makes it perfect for using behind the camper or taking off road. True 3 stage Candy Paint was applied after the frame was Soda Blasted to remove the paint and 40 + years of grime. The rear shocks are CHP with stronger springs and the forks have been reworked. The bike is newly restored with 20 miles on the rebuild. Original speedo just turned 4300 but will change daily. The cases were split and anything needed was replaced. New clutch, seals and gaskets are always used. New top end, piston, rings, jug and head with a new carburetor and Air Box installed. The bike has been properly broke in and is ready to ride. New wiring harness, Honda key switch (2 keys) , sealed battery along with a rebuilt stator. The seat, engine guard, spark guard, controls, levers and cables are all new and are top quality CHP items. The front fender is new along with the correct 4.00 x 10 Trails Tires with Heavy Duty Tubes. New brakes front and rear with polished backing plates. The handlebars were in great shape and do fold down for easy loading. The rear fender looked new and was not replaced. New headlight along with all new bulbs in speedo and taillight. 1972 CT70H K1 4 Speed I had the engine partially torn down and examined on 5/15/14 and all is well. Everything is in great shape , that is to be expected for a 2000 mile engine. Shifts well, runs smooth and does not smoke. The body I would rate a 6/10 (cosmetically). I am putting this up for sale for 7 days and if it does not sell,I intend to tear it down and restore it to its original beauty or better. I will re-list at a higher price. So if you want the 4 Speed that sometimes is hard to find........... grab it now As of right now,the previous owner did not supply me with a Title, so for this sale, there is none.
