Very nice, mostly original bike. It's been stored indoors for most of it's life. The bike turns over with the kicker and shifts through all the gears. Easily returned to a daily rider. I bought this bike several years ago with that in mind but have too many projects and now it's time for it to go to a new home. I have never ridden the machine but it was running when I bought it. If you are reading this ad you already know the bike is original except for the mufflers (no I don't have the stockers). Motorcycle Classics magazine recently recommended the Triumph/BSA triples as good bikes to buy for investment purposes. $500 due upon close of sale with the remainder by Certified Check or whatever we agree upon, before shipment. I will aid with shipping any way I can. Bike is located in 19540 area. Clean title in hand. My loss is your gain. Check my 100% feedback since 2000 and bid with confidence.

FOR SALE IS MY 1972 Triumph Trident .Bike is an original unrestored 4-speed 72 Trident with original paint on the tank and frame. I have the original side covers with the original paint on them as well, but they are fiberglass and much of the paint on them has flaked off. Rather than have them painted I found two used side covers and had them painted with Don Hutchinson paint because they dress up the bike so nicely. The bike has all Lucas lenses...headlight, tail light, and turn signals. The bike has the original wiring harness which has not been cut up by some do-it-yourself type. The bike starts, runs, and stops like it should. All electrical items work as they should...the headlight, tail light, brake light, turn signals, horn, idiot lights, and instrument lights. The tach and speedometer work as if they were new. The needles move around the dials smoothly, not jumpy like most Smiths gauges on old Triumphs. The complete VIN number on both the frame and motor is T150 BG 01001. The bike also has OEM mufflers that are very nice. They are not Dunstall type aftermarket replacement mufflers that don't quite look like the original OEM ones. As stated above, this is an original bike, but I have installed 3 improvements which are unseen, but are nice upgrades. (1) If you are familiar with British triples you know the sump cover on the bottom of the motor is attached with 6 nuts but the Triumph engineers did not put a drain plug in the cover. This makes removing the cover very messy. I purchased a billet aluminum sump cover with a drain plug in it for both this bike and my Hurricane. This is an unseen, but nice improvement. (2) If you are familiar with Tridents you also know they are prone to leak around the push-rod tubes. This is in part due to pressure that builds up in the rocker box area. To avoid this problem I purchased a couple of "vented" rocker box inspection covers and replaced the unvented ones...one vented cover on the intake rocker box side and one vented cover on the exhaust rocker box side. (3) If you are familiar with Tridents you will also know they are known for heavy clutches with levers that require a strong pull. I purchased a simple-to-install clutch modification kit that modifies the bearing and ramp to which the clutch cable is attached. I'm no engineer and can't explain how it works, but the clutch lever is smoother and easier to pull with this improvements. This beauty is ready to hit the road

I am offering my 1972 Trident T150V. I purchased it in 2008 and it had app. 10,000 miles on the speedometer. In 2012 a complete rebuild was done to include bearings, seals, inserts and rebore to .040 with new pistons and Hastings rings. The head was rebuilt to include black valves, springs, guides and seals. New anodized carb slides were put in then. The bike has Trispark ignition and Sparky regulator. Tires and chain are about a year old. The Smith instruments died last year and were replaced with MAP Cycle instruments which work perfectly. They now show about 1980 miles. The bike has great compression and starts on the first or second kick. Best guess is about 14,000 miles on the bike and 3,000 since rebuild. It sat in my garage for a year while I was having treatment for Leukemia. It still runs and rides great but it does puff some smoke when you blip the throttle. It may be ready for some rings. The repaint was done in original colors with PPG urethane and clear coat. The fairing is a Bates from the 1970s with a new windscreen and is quite rare. Arrange your own shipping please or you can pick it up from me. If you want me to crate it for shipping, a cost will be determined upon sale.

We are thrilled to offer such a unique and rare piece of motorcycle history. If you’ve got a Triumph-sized hole in your collection and want something pretty wild and very cool, this might fit the bill. The Triumph Hurricane X75 was a bit of a mongrel from the word go. Originally a BSA design, with very sleepy, Triumph Bonneville-esque style, the honchos felt it was way too conservative for American tastes. Famous designer Craig Vetter was tasked with a stylistic redo, and the resulting bike was different, to say the least, with a very 60’s chopper style and a distinctive triple exhaust slung along the right side of the bike. When BSA went under, 1,200 engines were put aside and the bike was rebranded as a Triumph.Three cylinder motorcycles in general are pretty neat sounding machines. Not quite as brutal as a thumping twin or single, not as smooth or refined as a four [or six!], triples make a very raw, iron-fist-in-a-velvet-glove kind of roar. Vetter was commissioned by BSA's US distributor to customise the BSA Rocket 3 to appeal more to American tastes. When, in 1968, the new BSA Rocket 3/Triumph Trident triples were shown to the American BSA-Triumph management, they were underwhelmed. They knew Honda had an important bike (the CB750) coming along, and they felt the triple's price of $1800 [4] was too high and that technical details (like vertically-split crankcases and pushrod ohv valve train) were far from "cutting edge". However, they acknowledged that the bike was fast, and a sales team led by BSA Vice-President Don Brown decided to launch the bike by using a Rocket-3 to set some records at Daytona, records which were broken in 1971 by the Kawasaki Z1. Brown felt that the BSA/Triumph triples needed a different look to succeed in the USA, and he engaged designer Craig Vetter to give the BSA A75 a customised face-lift, with a brief to make it "sleeker and more balanced". (Brown revealed the Vetter project to Peter Thornton, President of BSA/Triumph North America, but as Brown's initiative had not been authorised by BSA, Vetter had problems being paid, waiting two years for his fee). Vetter created the Triumph Hurricane in the summer of 1969,[5] and in October 1969 he unveiled the prototype with "BSA" on the tank as the new ‘Rocket Three’.[6] Thornton and the American officials were impressed, and Vetter's bike was then sent to the UK, but the bike arrived in England just as the BSA marque was about to be ended. At BSA-Triumph's design facility at Umberslade Hall, the design was seen as too "trendy" by chief designer Bert Hopwood; but after very positive public reaction to the design when it appeared on the front of US magazine Cycle World in October 1970, the UK managers changed their minds. They realised they had a large stock of obsolete BSA Rocket-3 parts that could now be turned into a premium-priced motorcycle. Engineer Steve Mettam was given the job of supervising production for the 1972/3 season; and the Vetter BSA Rocket3 became the Triumph X75 Hurricane. 1,183 engines were put aside for X75 production. However, BSA was facing bankruptcy and the design went into a limited production run of 1200 as the Triumph X-75 Hurricane in 1972. Production stopped in 1973 after the X-75 was unable to meet new American noise standards. Here are the specs: 1973 Triumph Hurricane X75Years produced: 1973 Number produced: 1,172Claimed power: 58hp @ 7,250rpmTop speed: 114mph (period test)Engine type: 741cc air-cooled, OHV inline tripleWeight (dry): 458lbMPG: 40-45Price then: $2,295 Thank you for looking, please feel free to ask any questions.
