1972 Yamaha LS2. 100cc two stroke street bike. Very rare, only produced 1 year. We recently acquired this bike from a vintage Yamaha collector. This bike has only 1213 original miles. It is very nice original condition. When the bike arrived to us, it was very nice, but had been in storage for several years. We completely disassembled the carburetors and ultrasonically cleaned and reassembled them, setting everything to original factory specs. We adjusted the points and set ignition timing to factory spec. All fluids were replaced, and a new battery installed. The gas tank on this bike is very clean inside and rust free. The bike starts very easily on 1-2 kicks when cold, and 1 kick warm. It is pretty quick for a 100cc bike. It will haul a 195 lb rider on flat terrain at 55+ mph. Everything works as it should on this bike, including all lights, gauges, and switches..Stop by and check it out anytime. Williams Vintage Cycle - Xenia OH. 937-376-0424

Very nice 1972 CT2 (175cc) with low miles and very original condition and not rusted. This bike has been stored indoors all of its life and you can tell, notice how nice the shocks and instruments are. Shows 2273 miles that are believed to be original. Cables are original as are the grips. Frame and engine numbers match. Has original Yokohama tires in nice condition. Great start for a restoration since it is mostly complete and in much better than average condition. Bike runs well, usually starts with 2 kicks. New Yamaha air filter. Carb has been cleaned and the bike runs great. Several parts have been removed over the years, mostly lights that are readily available. I can source them at my cost for the buyer if needed. Needs 1 front turn signal bracket, 2 front turn signals, 2 rear signals and tail light and bracket. I have found both used and reproduction parts without much trouble so the bike could be easily completed or ridden as it is with just a rear light. The bike was tipped over on the right side so there is fairly heavy damage to the tank and the bars are tweaked a bit. Bars can be straightened without much trouble, it is right up by the grip. The pipe is in amazing condition. I have found after 40 years of working on and restoring these bikes that it pays in the long run to start with the nicest bike you can find and not a "rat". It will cost much less in the long run doing it that way. I saw a restored bike of this model and color earlier this year bring $4050, it was nice but did not have turn signals. Contact me with any questions and more photos, I have good sources for shipping anywhere in the US. Sold on a BOS.

We are selling a 1972 Yamaha CS5E 200 Street. AKA, the RD200 predecessor. The "E" stands for electric start. This bike has 895 original miles, and it has been preserved or restored where necessary to excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition. It got 2nd place in the April 2014 OC Vintage bike show in Huntington Beach, CA. Everything on it works, and it runs and rides great. It is a blast to ride...light, quick, and great handling. The bike starts easily with either the electric or kick start, and shifts through the 5 gears smoothly. The brakes are excellent..the front being the same size twin-leading show as on the contemporary R5 350. The auto lube system has new lines and is properly adjusted and works as it should. Some of the highlight of the work that has been done since 2013: Engine top end, carbs, electrical system and forks rebuilt and engine tuned by Mach 1 Cycles of Costa Mesa. Machine work was by Q&E machine, Santa Ana. Paint on tins by California Cycle Design in Costa Mesa. Chrome by Orange County Plating. The paint is base/clear coat, polished to perfection. The bike has many NOS parts, and a few select repro parts. NOS parts: Tank badges, pistons, rings, pins, fork seals, fork nuts, tach cable, brake cable, speedo cable, brake and clutch levers, footpeg, shift, and kick rubbers, and the stop switch. Repro parts include air cleaner boots, seat cover, blinkers, mirrors, and the rear shocks. Most people will look at the bike and think its like brand new and perfect, but it's not. While most of the chrome has been redone, the pipes and rear fender have not, and they have some light pitting. Those familiar with these vintage bikes will understand that it is 43 years old, and there are minor idiosyncrasies with its operation. Sometimes the engine stalls when shifting from neutral to 1st when it's cold, and sometimes neutral is difficult to select when hot. There is a small oil leak on the left side from either the clutch pushrod, or the shifter seals. The generator light comes on at idle, but goes away as soon as revs reach above idle. Charging system works perfectly. Rims are original and in great shape. The bike comes with the original rider's manual, factory service manual, and parts listing. Also included is a copy of the 1972 Cycle World road test article and original magazine advertisement for the bike. Clean title. You will not be disappointed with this beauty. For more info, call John at 770.447.6945 ext.20.

Perfectly restored! 1972 Yamaha TD-3 Frame: TD3-991450 The mainstay of 250cc and 350cc class racing at national and international level for many years, the twin-cylinder two-stroke Yamaha well deserved the title of 'privateer's friend'. The 250cc TD2 arrived in 1969, replacing the TD1C, and immediately proved capable of winning Grand Prix, privateer Kent Andersson triumphing in the German round at Hockenheim that year, one of Yamaha's most significant classic victories. The giant leap forward from the TD1C had been achieved thanks to a comprehensive redesign that saw the porting and exhaust system updated, superior Mikuni carburettors adopted and the chassis, suspension and brakes greatly improved. Looking like a scaled down Norton Featherbed, the TD2's chassis was a development of that used for the RD56 works racer. Broadly similar as far as its frame and cycle parts were concerned, the 350cc TR3 differed mainly by virtue of its horizontally-split crankcases, a feature not introduced on the 250 until the TD3's arrival in 1972. The TD3 carried on the winning tradition from its predecessors. Kel Carruthers (1st), Cal Rayborn (2nd) from Don Vesco Factory Racing, and Duane McDaniels (3rd) from Twin 'K' Sports Center, all rode a TD3 at the 250 world championship at Daytona in 1971. Other successes were Rodney Gould’s World Championship win over a similarly equipped Kel Carruthers who also won the Isle of Man TT Lightweight 250 cc class aboard the diminutive Yamaha. The new over-the-counter Yamahas were smaller, lighter with greater manoeuvreability and consequently easier braking. The engines were simpler to build - but not significantly easier to maintain as four-stroke singles potentially lasted an entire season - offering a small compact unit without the height associated with overhead valves and camshafts. They announced the 'death knell' of the traditional 350cc and 500cc class single-cylinder four stroke engines manufactured to 1950s designs. The bike offered here, of 1972 vintage, was owned and raced for several years by famed motorcycle artist, Mick Ofield. Research continues, but at some point in the racing career of the bike, the frame was modified for the rear shocks to have a pick up point further forward, supposedly for far better handling. The bike is fresh from a ground-up restoration. All cycle parts were refurbished or renewed as needed. The frame was powder-coated, and to the modified pick up points, a pair of new, custom –built Works Performance shocks were installed, rated for a rider at about 160-180 pounds, give or take a few lunches. These suspend an original, rebuilt Yamaha valanced rim with stainless steel spokes and new Heidenau race spec tires. There’s a similar set up at the front, and held in place with the original TD-3 forks, fully rebuilt. New headrace bearings, chain and sprockets, and a steering damper were fitted, as well as all new rubber parts and cables. Brakes were fully rebuilt, front and rear. The engine was completely rebuilt with fresh crank, rods, etc. It runs well and feels strong. The gearbox was refurbished and shifts perfectly well. The bike sports the original aluminum gas tank, restored inside and out, and brand new Airtech fairing, ‘screen and seat unit, all beautifully painted in the traditional white with appropriate striping. NOS parts were used throughout the exhaustive restoration of this true icon of the transition of racing technology of the ‘60s and ‘70s. The result is a bike that can be successfully raced or displayed in a museum or living room setting. Offered on a Bill of Sale.

Trim Superbly restored

1972 Yamaha DS7 250CC 2-stroke motorcycle for sale. This is a very close to complete bike that was running this past Saturday (can provide video) and is an excellent starting point for a resto. The bike is dirty but it is a great piece. Much of the chrome will clean up real easy. The bike has good compression and low mileage at 7418. This is a numbers matching 1-year bike. This was the predecessor to the RD250 but is piston port and was considered much closer to the race bikes of the period than the RD. This is a great example that will make a relatively easy restoration project. Again, overall this is an amazing starting place. The original paint on the frame appears decent shape and again just needs a wash to see what lies underneath.. I think the pipes and most of the chrome will only need a clean and polish. Tank has some dents but overall good shape. It is not a rust bucket like many of them. Cables all appear to be original and controls are in excellent shape. Many projects have loads of missing parts or damaged pieces. This is not the case here, you will not need much to get this restored. This appears to have been an Alberta bike for some time (although I am unsure of the actual history) so there are not the rust problems you see with bikes from the east and closer to the coast. The items of note that are missing are relatively minor but include the battery, tail light lenses, side stand spring and tank badges. The front fork legs have some rust which may or may not be repairable. I expect the carb boots will need to be replaced as well. The bike comes with the original seat that has a rusty pan and the foam is no good. It also comes with a RD200 seat in very good shape. Also comes with a manual in binder. VIN is DS7-121130 The bike comes with a bill of sale and I will not crate or ship to you. I am happy to help load into your truck or shipping vehicle. I will try and provide reasonable assistance if you are planning on shipping the bike. See pictures for condition and feel free to ask questions. Happy to provide phone number if want to chat. Deposit of $300 due within 24 hours and balance due within a week. Paypal or cash only.

1972 Yamaha CS5 & 1975 Yamaha RD200 A Lovely Pair of Two-Strokes for Different Folks We are selling, as a pair, a 1972 Yamaha CS5 and a 1975 Yamaha RD200. What better than two classic Yamahas to explore the world around you? These are two very fine examples, different in their own rights, but ready to ride and make memories with. This would be an ideal "his and hers" setup. CS5 We are selling a 1972 Yamaha CS5E 200 Street. AKA, the RD200 predecessor. The "E" stands for electric start. RD200 This is an original-condition motorcycle with 1133 original miles. Tires replaced in 2014. Well-preserved for years in a garage, this motorcycle was just recently brought back to life by us at Blue Moon Cycle. After replacing the airbox boots and performing an ignition tune up and a carb adjustment, this little RD started right up. You will not find a motorcycle that's easier to start; it simply wants to GO. Take it home, ride it, show it off. These motorcycles are available for both viewing and pickup at our showroom in Norcross, GA. We also ship and crate within the U.S. as well as internationally. RV90 Rover. Very capable Street Legal Dual Sport that reminds me of a mini version of the Yamaha TW200. Registration current and clear title in my name. New Tires - Afterburn Street Legal tires. Kick Start only. Starts within 1-2 kicks if ridden regularly, takes 3-5 kicks if you let it sit for over a week or more. Great to use to teach new riders and it is street legal. Search Youtube Keyword RV90 for some videos of this dirt, sand, snow, street, legal machine. The turns signals hardware are installed, but in 1972 they were not required. I added them to complete the look, but the wiring needs to be finished. This is a 2-Stroke Oil-Injected Machine. No mixing oil. It has 2 tanks, one for the 2-Stroke Oil, and another for Fuel. It sends both at the right mixture for optimum performance. Front and Rear drum brakes work well, the rears are a bit squeaky but work well. The Original Headlight burnt out recently, its hard to find the correct bulb for it. I installed driving lights on it instead that are hooked up. I added the Red aftermarket Horn. Original horn needs to be wired back on to function. I added a fuel shut off valve along with a small fuel filter as it did not come with one. This is a fun machine, but I need to make room in the garage and my kids aren't really into riding after I bought it for them to learn on. Only my 15 year old tried it a few times, and he was not into it. Very easy to learn on...The bike has never been laid down in my possession and looks like it hasn't been in the past.
