Up for grabs is a 1973 ironhead chopper. The machanic that specializes in these bikes said I can easily get $6,500 for it but asking $5800 OBO. 1973 1000/Bored to 1100 Ironhead motor in a 2003 Harley sportster hard tail frame and a springer front end. This is a bad *** one of a kind bike. It turns every head splitting lanes down PCH. I get complements every time I take it out of my garage. It just had some work done so it's running perfect and is ready to ride away. Clean Title in hand Some details. -Custom ceramic pipes that sounds awesome ($375), I have new black wraps I've been meaning to put on ($50). -Right side shift -Custom paint paint job ($900) -Custom made seat ($220) -Good tires -Custom air filter -Just rebuilt carb ($65) -Custom oil tank ($250) -New spare fuel tank ($50) -New key switch ($70) -Just had a $400 service done on it so its running like a dream I will also throw in my helmet, a new old school mirror and bike cover. Think of it as a titled running project.Electric startGreat tires -- Nearly new Dunlop rear and nearly new Kenda frontAll chrome is pitting and rustyCarb needs to be rebuilt or at the very least cleaned out.Starts, runs and with some tweeking I've got it idling nicely. Power band is still not perfect as I think the carb needs a good cleanout or rebuild.Clutch drags a little -- when in 1st gear it wants to creep forward when you have the clutch pulled in. Most old Harleys do this with stock type clutches and I would suggest adjusting the clutch to help reduce this.Shifts through all gears.New NAPA Premium AGM battery just installed. I could see this being the start of a cool bobber or chopper project. Hardtail kits are widely available in bolt on or weld on versions. Are use shorter shocks in the rear. This bike is bad ass, it turns heads and gets complements everywhere because it is one of a kind, it was built to be a California lane splitter. The 1000(bored to 1100) Ironhead motor sits in a 2003 Harley sportster hardtail frame, and a springer front end. It was also one of the last years they made right side shift. Electric key start, kick start was removed for the custom ceramic pipes. It has a fresh paint job, I just rebuilt the custom carb and changed out the fuel lines. It runs fast and loud with the custom Ceramic pipes. Custom made old school saddle seat (super comfortable) custom fuel bottle holder mounted behind your left leg.
