1974 KAWASAKI Z1 900 ---------------This is a 1974 Z1 restored to the highest level------------ A correct original numbers matching Z1 motorcycle. frame #Z1F- 23689 Engine # Z1 E - 23717 Gas tank tail cowling and side covers are original 1974 painted to absolute correct detail using two stage paint ordered from Ralph @ PAINTWORKZ specializing in correct factory paint. Exhaust is original factory exhaust and in excellent shape but not perfect in terms of the chrome. This is a better choice however than perfectly chromed reproduction pipes. Seat is factory original pan and powder coated to protect from battery acid corrosion as is so common on these bikes. Gauges are original to the bike and reconditioned / restored Chain oiler is present and installed without tube added Wheels are correct factory issue TAGASKO 303 stamped. They have been re chromed and NOS factory spokes with factory brass nipples laced up. Engine is COMPLETELY REBUILT USING NOS PISTONS AND RINGS WITH NO OVERBORE! The engine work is to extensive to list in detail here but it is a COMPLETE DIS-ASSEMBLY AND REBUILD INCLUDING ALL THE HEAD WORK....NEW VALVES & VALVE GUIDES ETC...no cheap slap together cutting corners here! As you can see from the pictures there are many brand new items such as sprockets , chain , gasket seals , air filter , spark plugs , etc....things one would want done for a real riders show bike. Correct factory stickers are present If there is a finer restored 1974 Z1 I am not aware of it , but this one certainly ranks as the very best you can possibly buy at this present time. Restoration at this level requires meticulous time consuming attention to detail that is not commonly found and tends to be to expensive for most folks to fully embrace. I have clean clear California title in my name I look forward to sending her to a new home hopefully in a serious collectors hands! ****Best Regards and enjoy the Beauty!****

Please see my "ME" Page for other exciting cars of distinction on EBAY. 1973 Kawasaki Z1 900 Description The Z1 Kawasaki was a motorcycle introduced in 1972 by Kawasaki Heavy Industries. It has sometimes been described as the world’s first superbike. The Z1, along with Honda’s CB750 from 1969, introduced the four-cylinder, across the frame, disc-braked layout to a wider public. The Z1 was groundbreaking in that it combined many different elements which previous motorcycles had used into one performance package. The Z1 Kawasaki was developed in strict secrecy under the project name “New York Steak”. Some years previously, Kawasaki, already an established manufacturer of two-stroke motorcycles, decided to make a 750cc 4-cylinder 4-stroke sports motorcycle; they were beaten to the market place by the Honda CB750. Apparently, the bosses at Kawasaki disapproved and ordered their designers to come up with something better. The bike you see here is a ’73 Z1 900 that is in beautiful condition. We have the original retail buyers order and agreement that shows the bike was originally purchased June 18th, 1974 from Strathroy Small Engine. The bike retains its original engine (Z1E08169) as shown on the original bill of sale. The original paint on the bike is in near perfect condition with no imperfections to note. The emblems are all original and correct for the bike as well. Both stainless steel fenders look great with no damage or pitting showing to either. The seat looks great with no rips, tears or wear. The original 4 cylinder, 900 cc engine runs great and starts up with a push of the button. Brakes work as they should and the bike shifts with no problems. The motor is very clean with no scrapes to either side. The exhaust has some minor pitting as you can see in the photos. Here is you chance to own a Z1. VIN number is Z1F07973. Here is a 1974 Kawasaki Z1 900 with 24,838 miles runs good very fast,i aquired this bike from a retired engineer vietnam veteran who has owned it since 1978 as shown in the picture of the Title in the pictures, I was told he added a big bore kit with wisco pistons 10/15 and a oil cooler, looks like the wheels and some other parts are not stock vin # on the Title reads Z1F23537 and the engine # Z1E 068944 as shown in the pictures, there is not a vin stamped on the frame on the neck of the bike or a vin tag, I started the bike up today with a charger on the battery that should be replaced and reved the rpms up for the picture and took a picture of the tach while it was running the bike starts right up but leaks gas out of one of the carbs so the could use a cleaning, has 100 octane gas in the tank and the inside of the tank looks ok,one of the side panels doesnt want to stay on the bike, throttle and choke are free, brakes work, clutch lever pulls in,tranni shifts threw all the gears good, signals and mirror are missing and everything i have for the bike is in the pictures there might be some small nuts and bolts missing here and there and other, seat is custom made with deer hide, cams are stock, Selling as is although i dont see any problems with the bike, buyer will have to pay shipping and locate there own shipper if one is needed not sure there prices i can meet them at my door and i really dont have the room to store it after the auction ends, Auction may end early because a watcher on ebay might want to purchse the bike before the auction ends, paypal accepted as payment if your not local, I would like to be contacted as soon as the auction ends to discuss payment and pick up, Thanks for looking and good luck bidding the bike is located in Forest lake Minnesota 55025.

Over several years I have had the pleasure to own, restore and be a avid collector of all things 1973 Kawasaki Z1. To date I have had at least 10 (ten) 1973 models that have passed through my garage doors and 4 remain. Two original bikes and two in the early state of restoration, both of which were decent running largely original bikes prior to dismantling. In addition, I have compiled a large assortment of NOS, and quality used parts for the 1973 model. A large number of these parts from the dismantled bikes as well as extras have been re-chromed, re-zinc plated, and or powder-coated in preparation of my use in the restoration process. There are of course some (very little) new and aftermarket parts as well but on whole I would say 99% are OEM Kawasaki. There is essentially with the exception of a rear wheel, and exhausts nearly every part necessary to complete both restorations. In addition, there are probably enough desirable extra parts to offset much of the cost of the parts one would need to acquire. See link below to see hi-res photos of the bikes and inventory of parts http://s83.photobucket.com/user/arcaneman/library/2Z1Parts? This auction is for two (2) 1973 Kawasaki Z1's Vin: Z1F-14002, Z1E-14219 31K miles and Z1F-7338, Z1E-7518 15K miles? with matching engine numbers, and with clear open titles. In addition, this sale includes all the shown parts, to complete the bikes restorations if desired or for whatever intent you as the buyer desire. This is a BUY IT NOW sale. No offers will be excepted for individual parts or either bike alone. Winner takes ALL or NONE. I have included multiple views of all parts I only posted 24 of nearly 100 photos. A few highlighted Parts Factory dual disks Original body work, 2 original Z1 tanks and one KZ900 Original gauges Original fork ears/ fenders, lights Rare “Long Guard” fender and required tail light Manuals Original handlebar switches Original hardware Many parts re-zinced.
