I do not believe these are original but rather the miles from when it was customized many years ago (est ~1996 based on date codes of parts I replaced) This is customized bike. This is NOT an original FXE. Few are. 1975 was not a good year for Harley with the union troubles and quality issues. Many of them didn't run straight out of the crate, and some were intentionally sabotaged by pissed off union workers. Nearly all HDs from this era are upgraded in some way, most in a big way to make them more reliable. This one is no different but it still runs great on points and condensor (thats the #1 comment I get). It is a very cool bike. I get looks and questions everywhere I ride it. Folks really dig the nostalgia of a well running shovelhead. There is no sound like a shovel w/open pipes, even in Harleyworld. You can tell what it is a mile away. This is the easiest starting Harley I've ever owned. Just a touch of the starter and you're up and running. Starts faster than my new fuel injected HDs. Its reconditioned, not new..everything works that needs to work..and it has a character all its own...a few quirks of operation like the starter button is under the seat (why I don't know but it works perfect and is easier than bar mounted). Transport your mind back to 1975 and how much has survived that you would want to have from that era. How well did cars drive in 1975? I am looking to sell my 1975 Harley Davidson FXE Super Glide. Due to a failing back I can no longer comfortably ride. This bike was in storage for many years and I recently purchased from a family friend. After some minor repairs it now is a beauty that screams down the road. The 1200 shovel head motor has recently had some gasket work due to a few oil leaks. Some chrome is pitting and needs repair. The starter has been relocated and minor wiring for turn signals needs repair. The carb is a S&S Super E and has recently been rebuilt and I keep the fuel treated.Recent repairs include carb rebuild, new oil lines, new fuel lines, new F/R tires, brake cleaning, new plugs / wires, new primary oil, new trans oil, new engine oil, new chrome mirrors, new chrome pegs and a new battery. Front end gaskets (Base, Rocker, Push Rod, Trans Seal, etc) have been replaced. Minor signs of wear in paint and chrome. Approx. 8000 miles on restoration by Zoellers and custom paint. Bike is purple with accents.

Solid lifters, New front & rear tires and tubes with 0 (zero) miles, new upgraded Keihin CV carb, new 2:1 exhuast, new clutch and throttle cables, battery quick disconnect switch, battery is 1 year old stored indoor on battery tender, new oil lines, new rear brake master cylinder, new manual lever start solenoid, new oil pressure guage, new K&N air filter. All the bike needs is, the turn signals to be wired/hooked up, and the front brake light switch needs to be wired up. I just bought a new front brake switch, and didn't have time to wire it up. Also needs if you want one is a speedometer cable. I have some extra parts/stuff that I'll give you with the bike as well. It has NOT been chopped or modified to the point of loosing its original identity. Collectors are taking note as prices of original AMF bikes are bringing money and that is great. Today it is next to impossible to find a nice original bike with good bones untill now. The best part of THIS bike is the factory original parts that would be impossible to find are here still with it after all these years. The original paint AMF Harley Davidson Bread Loaf tank. The Superglide seat. The original low rise handle bars, The Sporty shock tubes that gave the bike the unmistakeable rake. The black rubber pegs and the AMF license plate frame anti theft alarm are not pictured. As it sits now it has Fatbobs, Forward Controls, Buck Horn Handle bars and extended front tubes that give it the chop look. It has lots of chrome. Mechanical updates include an S&S carb. The Shovel has a sound of its own. What sets this bike apart from a new one is not only would it be less expensive to buy and own. It is collectible as well and you wouldn't get hammered when you decided to sell. But although the latter is true the real cool factor is not only does it have an electric start but also has a kick start. This bike is right. When cold it will start within two kicks. Want to impress your friends? Start this bad boy like a man! Real men Kick and start their Harley! The bike has very low miles. Title says 22K Speedo says 2837 miles. Was told it had a recent top end. Tires are good. This thing is ready to roll. My old man rode a 70's Superglide back in the day like this. I have looked for years for a very nice FXE like it.
