1977 Honda Cb 550, This listing is for a beautiful used (obviously) 1977 Honda CB550K. It has 10,864 miles on it. Since I've owned it over the last 3 years, I've maybe put 200 miles on it. Since I bought it, I have rebuilt the front brake master cylinder and replaced the brake piston (now phenolic, so no sticking from rust) and pads. I also replaced the voltage regulator and rectifier. It has a brand new battery. The bike had recently new tires on it when I bought it, so they don't have many more than 200 miles on them. I also replaced the clutch cable last summer. You can also see that the previous owner tried to paint the headers, and it ended disastrously. They must have tried to paint them red, but they messed it up. It has a small dent in the gas tank. There are some rust spots and the paint is 36 years old, but I think it still looks great. And it runs great and starts great, either from kick start or electric start. I also cleaned the carburetors last summer, and gave the bike a tune-up and new spark plugs 2 summers ago. I'll throw in the shop manual and the carb tuners, since I won't have any use for them, as well as my helmet. It also has the original owner's manual. All the lights work. There is a 3" tear in the top of the seat, which you can see in some of the pictures. Let me know if you have any questions, and let me know when you want to come by to take a look at it. THIS BIKE IS AWESOME! It's an everyday driver if you want to. It runs just like it did when it came out of the factory 36 years ago. Very nice bike, brand new battery, recently turned over and fired but hasn't ran. Was owned by an older man and just sat in his building. Only 16000 miles. Gas tank has a couple dents and seat isn't perfect. Muffler is a little rusted where it connects to the exhaust pipes can either be replaced or just fixed. This is a 1977 Honda CB550K with ~33k mi on it. Still in beautiful condition considering it's age...I've been using it all summer, but the stator and voltage regulator just went up - and will need to be replace in order for this to start. Luckily, they are easily found online. The battery is new, but given that it's been so thoroughly drained - you may need a new battery as well.Otherwise, the right turn signals aren't working - I'm assuming it's an electrical issue... and there's a small leak from the head gasket. I received this bike a little over a year ago with 1597 original miles. The bike was part of a huge collection of a local dealer and it had been sitting in dry storage for at least 10 years when it last had a dealer tag. I sent the carburetors off to be re-manufactured ($320) and I sealed the tank with a Caswell treatment only as a precaution - I seal the tanks on all my bikes. I changed points,plugs and condensers also. The engine cases have the patina in the clear coat which you would expect with a motorcycle almost 40 years old. The chrome is bright and the only signs of rust I see are in the rear shocks, not the springs. Currently, the only non-stock parts are the battery, seat and possibly the tires. All the electrics work just fine. I no longer have the time to do anything more to the bike due to my wife's health. The only issue I see at this time is that the engine is reluctant on cold starts. When the engine is warm it performs well. The bike runs and shifts well. I have only put five miles on the bike since I got it. The bike is currently tagged and insured in Alabama and there are no titles issued for any vehicle 35 years old or older. I have made no modifications to the bike other than replacing the king and queen seat, which you will be welcome to. My travel is restricted so I must insist on local pickup, but I will be glad to assist any way I can to make shipping easier. This motorcycle is a classic beauty and would be a wonderful addition to anyone's collection. I will be glad to answer any questions you might have. CB550K 13,9xx miles. Cold blooded, but once warm will run all day. Was my main ride last year, and had no issues. I no longer ride it on a regular basis. June '11- carbs professionally cleaned ($440) May '13- new tires, tubes, plugs, oil change, valves adjusted, ignition timing set ($658) Lower handlebars, 11" short shocks. Originals available. Tank has scratches, one dent shown. Decals are cracking. One Honda emblem on tank loose. Seat is in good condition, metallic sticker on piping is peeling in one spot. Small hole in left upper exhaust as shown in pic. Tires have about 500 miles on them. Whole bike needs a good cleaning! Slight oil leak. Mechanic said many CBs leak from the same place. Never enough to drip onto floor. Unless you are rebuilding the engine, it's probably not worth the fix. I tried to point out all flaws so there's no surprises when you come see it. Listed locally.
