Virtually flawless low-mileage original condition bike in dry storage since 1983. Just over 8,000 original miles. No rust, pitting, corrosion or dry rot anywhere. Paint and chrome are like new. Electrical all in good working order. Brand new tires. Fuel and brake system flushed, new OEM petcock and fuel hoses installed, carbs professionally rebuilt. I removed a king/queen seat, luggage rack and Vetter fairing from the original and added new tracker bars, grips, mirrors (not shown), headlight, and turn signals from Dime City Cycles. The seat is a custom leather cafe style seat. I also put on new tank badges and a milled aluminum license plate holder with integrated LED rear tail and brake lights. I replaced the non-working OEM horn with a modern replacement. That's it. I removed the center stand and rear pegs for appearance and weight but these will come with the bike along with all other original parts. The only flaw is the paint finish is dulled at the back of the tank where it contacted the original seat, but it's hard to notice. Also one of the tabs is partially broken on the left side cover but it still fastens securely. Starts right up, runs strong, handles smoothly and is very fast. Nothing needed, ready to ride. Bikes that survive in this condition are very rare and this is a sweet bike. I hate to let it go, but its time for the next project. Contact me with any questions at 303 503-8533 Paypal $500 deposit within 24 hours of end of auction. The remainder due with cash at time of pickup. I will hold motorcycle for up to three weeks so you can arrange shipping. Do not bid if you do not intend to pay. Call me if you have less than 10 feedback ratings before bidding.

The bike runs great, I just took it out a couple weeks ago during a warm spell and the bike had no problems.  It's got new tires, fork seals, plugs, chain, fresh oil, timing and valve clearances were set in the fall, as well as a K&N air filter (though I do have the original cage if you want it).  I also have a spare oil pan and gasket and rear tail piece.  One modification I had to make was switching the vacuum petcock to a standard gravity feed.  That's the only non-stock part on the bike. I have a clean title and the bike is in Providence RI.Bike will also come with original owner's and service manuals and a Haynes manual.

This 1977 Suzuki GS 550 is a true survivor in excellent condition. It was purchased from the original owner who was meticulous in its upkeep and condition. It is a true time capsule of a machine that is in beautiful and exceptional condition. As far as I can tell, it has never been dropped or crashed. There are no dents or significant dings that I can find. The paint is in excellent condition, as is the chrome...that is not pitted or damaged. I have not done much detailing or cleaning, but it would not take much to get it to look in "new" condition. It was purchased from a local meticulous original owner who garaged it (covered) for its entire life in a moderate California climate. It appears to have been regularly serviced and maintained. I have rode it about 50 miles in the past couple of weeks. It starts right up and idles, handles, accelerates and stops as it should. The bike runs as it should and is a pleasure to ride. All of the lights, blinkers, horn, high beam, low beam, kill switch, oil pressure light, gear selection light neutral light, brake light, and taillight work as new. It comes with the correct era California license plate for this motorcycle that is nearly 40 years old! The owner added a new seat, fairing, and rack at some point in the past. I'm not sure if the tires are originals or not. They are Bridgestone tires and appear to have some age on them...they are not dry rotted and look great, but it would be wise to change them if you will be riding this on the road. It truly is a collector quality motorcycle, and would be a solid and worthy addition to any collection. Included are the original owner's manual, tool kit and a couple of other items (Chilton's manual, sissy bar, spark plugs, etc.). The motorcycle has a clean California Ownership Title in my name. The motorcycle is currently registered in California, and it will likely have a few more miles on it above the stated amount as I continue to enjoy it. Inspections are welcomed. Anybody wishing to ride it must have a valid motorcycle license and full cash price in my hand as a deposit for any damage. A $300 deposit is required via paypal at the close of auction, with the balance due by cashier's check or wire transfer within 3 days of auction close. The motorcycle must be picked up within 10 days of auction close. The motorcycle is sold "As Is" and will not leave my possession until all funds clear my bank. Shipping is the full responsibility of the Buyer. Please contact me if you have any questions. 1978 Suzuki GS750 Classic Superbike This is a very original example of the 1978 GS750. This model was first introduced to the U.S. market in 1977. Up until that time, Suzuki produced 2-stroke street bikes and their existence was threatened by the increasingly tough regulations of the EPA. The brand new Suzuki 4-strokes, spearheaded by this 2nd year GS750, are widely credited with saving the Suzuki Motorcycle Corporation from becoming irrelevant in the U.S. marketplace. As a California bike, this GS is is extremely well preserved. The bike has been more than well cared for under my custodianship, and this is a bike that you can immediately enjoy. Unlike many other motorcycles offered on ebay, this one was not recently found at a yard sale, washed off and offered for sale. This GS is completely vetted and sorted out. It does not have any of the usual and frustrating issues that are common to those bikes coming out of storage, or to a bike that has been sitting. I did give some thought toward doing a full restoration of this bike, but decided not to. The original factory finishes are too nice to disturb. That said, the finishes are not perfect. There are a couple scuffs and scratches in the paint, and the chrome, although very good, is not show perfect. There are 3 holes in the lower front fender for a flap that has been removed. Meanwhile, the GS did receive a thorough mechanical restoration. Properly set-up suspension is important for a classic bike, so that is where I made some improvements. The original "too soft" fork springs were replaced with "Sonic" springs of the correct weight to properly support the bike and a 185-215 lb rider. New seals and oil were installed and the lower fork legs were restored to their original finish. While the front of the bike was apart, new tapered steering head bearings were pressed into the frame. New front brake pads were also installed. There is a slight pulsing in the front brake depending on lever pressure, but nothing that upsets the bike.At the back of the bike, new Progressive shocks replaced the stock factory dampers. The original shocks are included with the sale and can be mounted for a completely original look. The front and rear tires are newer - period correct sized - Cheng Shins with a couple thousand miles on them. The tires work well and they hold securely at all the lean angles that I found. The engine also received attention to ensure continued smooth performance. The rubber intake manifolds were restored to insure no air leaks. The carburetors were ultrasonically cleaned and then rebuilt with all new rubber o-rings (the good ones - not a cheap carb kit). A new air cleaner was installed and the jetting was adjusted to correct a lean mid-range setting from the factory. The tune-up included new HT (high tension) coils, new plug wires, spark plugs and spark plug caps, along with new points and condensers. A new oil filter and synthetic oil completed the recent engine work. And finally, the entire drive train was updated with a conversion from the 630 chain size to the more commonly used 530 chain along with new front and rear sprockets. The stock gearing ratio was retained. Recently, I took the GS out for a 457 mile ride with a group of modern bikes and it performed flawlessly, with good power and sharp handling. The bike is very comfortable to ride with one of the best seats in the industry. My body felt fresh even after a 10 hour day on the bike. The bike runs excellent, and is ready for the collector or the riding enthusiast, or both. All mechanical work was performed by a certified mechanic with 41 years of classic bike restoration experience. Comes with a clear CA Title. Shipping costs to the lower 48 States can run between $250-550 depending on your location. Arranging and paying for shipping are the responsibility of the buyer. I do have several shipping contacts that I am happy to share with you. The bike can be stored for several weeks (if paid for) while you arrange your transportation. International buyers are welcome. A deposit of $400 is due within 24 hours and is non-refundable. Questions - call Bill at (805) 708-1129. For more info visit my website at vintagemotofactory.com Check out my other items!

Some issues with this table: Each model in the original has the date code appended, e. g., RL250L for the 1974 "L" model year, except: FA50 for 1971 has no R suffix. JR50C is listed in 1978 and 1979 (years C and N) with the same serial ranges. RM125M for 1975 (year M) is listed in 1976 (year A) with a different frame serial range than RM125A. TS250J is listed twice in 1972 (year J) with two sets of originating frame and engine numbers. RM250C2 for 1978 (year C) is listed with a a different serial range than RM250C. GS425M for 1975 (year M) is listed in 1979 (year N). Some numerals (particularly 5, 6, and 8) are difficult to decipher from the scans.[edit] Proofreading methodology
