>>>>>>>>>> My seller ID is my website name and there are a ridiculous amount of detail photos in the Memorabilia section <<<<<<<<<< For sale is a true slice of Americana from the late 70's; one very nice 1978 KZ1000 A2A Commemorative model #178. I bought this bike from the second owner about 5 years ago, who cared for it extremely well; and I have enjoyed owning it very much. Mileage was around 10 thousand when purchased and now has over 11K. While it has been in my possession, it was carefully disassembled for thorough detailing and to make minor paint repairs to the frame, swing arm, battery box and the Vetter mounting system. The steering neck and swing arm bearings have been checked and serviced, brake calipers and master cylinders have been restored and rebuilt with nos reservoir caps and new pads, forks rebuilt and refinished with oem seals and dust boots, nos swing arm sleeve and rear wheel with new tire, new oem sprockets and chain, nos rider pegs and turn signals. The exhaust is laser straight and in beautiful condition with no corrosion since it spent most of it's life in a dry state and then climate controlled storage in my home. There are very light wear marks on the top and sides of the mufflers upon close inspection from general use prior to my owing it; but nothing that really stands out. The crossover pipe, two inner head pipes, heat shields, exhaust studs, clamping rings and keepers are nos as well. The handle bars with original levers were completely dismantled for detailing and reassembled with nos grips and switches, voltage regulator and main harness are nos as well as oem side cover grommets, airbox ducts and air filter - parts replaced not because the bike really needed it - but more of a fact that I had the pieces in stock and it saves alot of detailing time later. The only reproduction parts on this bike are the rear shocks (originals are included in sale), case cover phillips screws and tac cable. All of the case covers are nos and were installed with oem gaskets including the oil pan. An automatic cam chain tensioner has been installed to eliminate the effort required to manually adjust it, the valve shims have been adjusted, the carbs with original fuel and vent lines were thoroughly detailed and overall this bike starts, runs, rides and stops beautifully. I never run oem ignitions on bikes that I actually ride and have been using a complete Dyna ignition system during the time that I have owned it - the original coils and breaker points have been put back in. Brand new era correct Vetter crash bar and rear chrome rack were also located and replaced due to wear on the originals and the all of the rubber pads at the mounting points were replaced making this bike as quiet and rattle free as the day that it was built. All of the difficult, time consuming, expensive parts and services have already been located and done for you.............. Original paint and graphics body with correctly documented by serial number vetter fairing and bags are in beautiful condition with original Vetter windshield that has never been removed. The white paper inspection date stamp tags - most likely from the Lincoln paint dept. - are still present inside the left fairing pocket and read May 17th 1978 and May 25th (PM). There are faint imperfections in the clear coat here and there, a small white paint touch up on the left top fairing and left side lower, right side cover and tail just behind the seat by previous owner as seen in closeup pics. The tank with painters hallmark still clearly visible has a clean interior with some light sediment down in the lower weld seam. There is age patina with minor flaws to the 'water slide' decals as seen in detail pics the tank and side emblems are nos along with cap seal and petcock (the petcock diaphragm has failed and is now being used in the prime position). The seat vinyl is soft and pliable and a complete tool kit with tray sits under it. The rear fender has light patina from age and the front fender looks to be a new replacement that was on the bike when purchased. The original front wheel is very nice with patina on the spokes, 2 brand new factory keys operate all 3 locks on the bike as well as the original Vetter keys for the rear bags and release locks. I left the the vintage pattern front tire on it for show; but if you really wanted to use this bike alot; it should be replaced as it has very minor weather checking. Every nut, bolt, clamp and washer that was used to mount the Vetter system has been retained or is new making this bike completely correct as delivered right down to the normally missing highway pegs. Never abused or neglected in any way, I feel that this bike easily grades within the top 10 turn key drivers still in existence. To give a little history on these bikes, they were produced in conjunction with Craig Vetter for a promotion dubbed the 'All American Rideaway' to celebrate Kawasakis Lincoln, NE production plant and top performing mid west dealers group. The numbered body set is 100 digits lower than the frame number which is correct for all and the 'AE' Series engines never correlate to bike number in any way since 3 distinct models shared the same drive train at the time; the A, B LTD and C Police models. Documentation included with the bike is the one magazine article that I have been able to find, crate manual, correct A2A owners manual with Kawasaki letter stating rear tire air pressure revision to compensate for the luggage system, ultra rare Good Times newsletter mentioning the promotion and clear paperwork in my name. Super clean, crisp, correct and complete; this rare bike is ready to ride or display and is located in western upstate NY. Personal inspections are welcomed and encouraged and I am happy to answer any additional questions. I do not handle shipping, but am happy to assist since there is a Uship affiliate within 7 miles of my home. Although I would recommend enclosed ship as this bike is huge with many unique and hard to find parts. There is also Forward Air service here which has amazing enclosed containers and is within 12 miles of my location. Thanks for viewing my sale and you can buy with confidence as I have over 35 yrs experience in the 72 - 80 Kawasaki inline 4's.

1978 Kawasaki Ltd , Own a piece of 1970's History, this motorcycle has several unique features from the ZR1 front end, Blake Industries Turbo Package, Karata glide lock up clutch, APE studs on block and a welded crank. You will not find another motorcycle that has these features from the late 1970's and in the condition that this motorcycle is in. This is the only Z I have seen with this Bill Blake Industries Turbo package most all of them have a ATP turbo package. With the right rider this is a high eight second bike. This is better than a Z1R Turbo as it is done right and will go straight with no vibration. 1978 Kawasaki KZ1000 LTD VIN KZT00B514083 Engine: 1428cc, Wiseco 7.8.1 Turbo Pistons new less than 100 miles ago Blake Industries Turbo Kit from Muskogee OK Mikuni HSR 42mm Carb, New Modified Oil Pan and Oil Pump with Deep Sump Welded Crank APE Heavy Duty Cylinder and Main Bearing Studs Rare Karata Glide Lockup Clutch New Royal Purple oil and new oil filter Engine covers secured with stainless steel socket head Allen bolts New copper base and head gasket Oil Cooler Body and Frame: Complete 1978 Z1R front end, controls, gauges, fairing well like I said a whole front end. This front end is rare. 2 over stock Swing Arm with 2 shock mount positions and 3 axel positions 18 Aluminum Rims AVON tires front and rear both brand new 630 Chain and front sprocket replaced less than 100 miles ago, rear sprocket was in good shape New seat High Flow Petcock Chrome Engine Mounts Bodywork is 2013 Lincoln Ruby Red just painted three weeks ago Electrics: Dynatek Coils with Blue Suppression Plug Wires Regulator, Alternator and Igniter all tested good Wires and connectors have all been checked and are in good condition, no brittle wiring Misc Info: I bought this bike from a gentleman in Tigard Oregon, he inherited it from his grandfather who had passed on. The bike was last registered in the state of Oklahoma 10/18/1981. At that time the bike had 16836 miles on the registration which I have. Mileage reads 16880 so since last registered had 44 miles usage maybe. I also have an article from Motorcyclist in 1978 that has the Blake Industries Turbo package featured. This engine was sealed as professional drag racers sealed it. The Wastegate is set at 5 pounds of boost. This allows the bike to run on readily available premium gasoline The cams are stock The HSR 42 carb was added right after I purchased the bike, and allows the bike to be cruised around town, or pushed hard Full payment is expected within 7 business days. $500 deposit required $6,800.00

ONLY 400 miles on this extremely well preserved 1979 XS Eleven in Indigo Blue. It is all stock as it came from "Anaheim Motorcycles" in 1978 as a 1979 1100F model. The bike was first purchased in the fall of 1978 but it was only registered for 3 years up to 1981. I have the registration records 1978-1981 and the license plate sticker shows 1981 as well. As of last year the bike is registered in CA and has a clean title. When I bought the bike it had the original tires still in new condition. I decided to replace them with the OEM Bridgstone brand to stay as authentic as possible for safety reasons only. I still have the original tires and inner tubes which amazingly look new and are soft to the touch. The carburetors were professionally cleaned and refurbished using only new old stock (NOS) parts. The engine runs as it should considering it's basically a brand new machine. The exhaust system is in excellent condition, and sounds beautiful. The engine purrs at cruising speeds, but when you give it some gas it growls and accelerates with no hesitation. All bolts and nuts are like new. The new battery fires up the bike instantly and it idles perfectly. The XS11 has a stock 95 HP engine which makes it as fast as a modern motorcycle. The "Eleven" in the name not only stands for the displacement but also the quarter mile time (which is sub 12 seconds) achieved easily. Original owner's manual, toolkit, and emergency kick starter are also included. Asking 8,900 For fun you might want to search Youtube for the 1978 Castrol Production Bike Race at Amaroo Park where the XS1100 beat the rival 6 cylinder Honda CBX1000 and Suzuki GS1100, Ducati 900SS, and BMW R100S while no Kawasaki KZ1000 models were present the new Z1R made its debut.
