Bike Runs. Many modifications have been made. The Frame is a 1981 GS1100ex BUT the motor was replaced with a 1977-1978 GS1000e.Battery has moved to the rear hump of the aftermarket racing seat, new dual front sport brakes, The Tank is from a 1977 Suzuki 450 for the Manx style look that Suzuki produced in the 70's.Carbs need minor adjustment but the motorcycle is in great condition with fresh paint. K&N air filters and fresh pugs have been installed. Some various lights on the dash do not work but can be replaced.Rear tire could use a replacement slight dry rotting on sides from age. Item is as is running with some minor work needed.

This bike has engine number GT380-108577 This was the very first engine serial number in 1977!! That's right, the first one. And the frame is number GT380-95088 and they began with GT380-95063 so this frame is the 25th one made in 1977. I encourage you to bid accordingly as I may decide to keep the bike due to its rarity if bidding stays so low and no one cares about VIN numbers. Thanks. Original scanner unknown. Transcribed from scans of three pages; the scans are found in various places on the internet. Atop the third scanned page numbered "4" is "SERVICE PUBLICATIONS #3 - REVISED 3/25/94." Table cell entries are presumed to be the initial frame and engine numbers for the model year for each model. Some issues with this table: Each model in the original has the date code appended, e. g., RL250L for the 1974 "L" model year, except: FA50 for 1971 has no R suffix. JR50C is listed in 1978 and 1979 (years C and N) with the same serial ranges. RM125M for 1975 (year M) is listed in 1976 (year A) with a different frame serial range than RM125A. TS250J is listed twice in 1972 (year J) with two sets of originating frame and engine numbers. RM250C2 for 1978 (year C) is listed with a a different serial range than RM250C. GS425M for 1975 (year M) is listed in 1979 (year N). Some numerals (particularly 5, 6, and 8) are difficult to decipher from the scans.[edit] Proofreading methodology

ONLY 400 miles on this extremely well preserved 1979 XS Eleven in Indigo Blue. It is all stock as it came from "Anaheim Motorcycles" in 1978 as a 1979 1100F model. The bike was first purchased in the fall of 1978 but it was only registered for 3 years up to 1981. I have the registration records 1978-1981 and the license plate sticker shows 1981 as well. As of last year the bike is registered in CA and has a clean title. When I bought the bike it had the original tires still in new condition. I decided to replace them with the OEM Bridgstone brand to stay as authentic as possible for safety reasons only. I still have the original tires and inner tubes which amazingly look new and are soft to the touch. The carburetors were professionally cleaned and refurbished using only new old stock (NOS) parts. The engine runs as it should considering it's basically a brand new machine. The exhaust system is in excellent condition, and sounds beautiful. The engine purrs at cruising speeds, but when you give it some gas it growls and accelerates with no hesitation. All bolts and nuts are like new. The new battery fires up the bike instantly and it idles perfectly. The XS11 has a stock 95 HP engine which makes it as fast as a modern motorcycle. The "Eleven" in the name not only stands for the displacement but also the quarter mile time (which is sub 12 seconds) achieved easily. Original owner's manual, toolkit, and emergency kick starter are also included. Asking 8,900 For fun you might want to search Youtube for the 1978 Castrol Production Bike Race at Amaroo Park where the XS1100 beat the rival 6 cylinder Honda CBX1000 and Suzuki GS1100, Ducati 900SS, and BMW R100S while no Kawasaki KZ1000 models were present the new Z1R made its debut.
