1978 Suzuki GS550 with 24,xxx miles. Missing the left side cover, front tire is worn and will need replaced, rear tire is great. There are some holes toward the rear of the mufflers but the bike sounds good. The seat has separated at the seam (see pictures). The ignition key does not match the seat and fuel cap key-I had to put a new ignition switch in. With the bad said, the bike runs great, look good too. Has a New Battery. Has Electric start and kick start. It is a nice clean bike, but not perfect. Tank is clean inside. I hate to sell such a nice clean classic, but I have way too many bikes and need to get rid of a few to raise the funds for some projects. This would be a great bike to get and ride or do a café racer. I have a clear title in my name. I can store the bike for up to 30 days for you to arrange shipping or pickup, but it must be paid for within 7 days of purchase-cash upon pickup or mail a money order or cashiers check. Title will be signed over to you upon clear payment. Thanks.

This is a used 1978 Suzuki GS550 with a clean and clear title. It has had one owner since new and has low miles at 9895. It even has its original tool kit still stored under the seat. It was just recently pulled from a barn where it has been stored since 1984. After a fresh oil change and a few sprays of starting fluid in the carbs, the bike fired up! Thats where I stopped. The bike will need the carbs cleaned and rebuilt and an exhaust to get it running right. All of the electrical is intact, unmolested and it all works, including the electric start. The engine turns over with the starter or the kick start. The paint is faded but not all banged up. The tank is free of dents and the inside is not all rusted out. Most of the chrome isn't in bad shape either. With a little freshening up, this bike would make a great cruise around bike. It is a good candidate for a restoration or a cafe racer. These old low miles, original, one owner bikes are getting harder and harder to find. Please let me know if you have any questions. A $100 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of the auction close. If the deposit is not paid within 24 hours, I will cancel the sale and re-list the bike. Full payment must be made within 3 days. The bike is being sold as is. I will ship the bike world wide at the expense of the buyer. All shipping arrangements are to be made by the buyer after full payment is received and cleared into my account. Pickup is encouraged and I can also deliver within 5 hours of Columbus, Ohio for a fee. Thanks for looking

Many restored and new parts. I would get new tires before riding, signs of dry rot are evident. Bike has been in my family since brand new. 44k miles. Vetter fairing with lowers, one small trunk and one very large travel trunk. Email for more pictures and questions. Blue book for mint is 6k. If you want mint, just paint it. Everything is straight.

1978 Suzuki GS750 Classic Superbike This is a very original example of the 1978 GS750. This model was first introduced to the U.S. market in 1977. Up until that time, Suzuki produced 2-stroke street bikes and their existence was threatened by the increasingly tough regulations of the EPA. The brand new Suzuki 4-strokes, spearheaded by this 2nd year GS750, are widely credited with saving the Suzuki Motorcycle Corporation from becoming irrelevant in the U.S. marketplace. As a California bike, this GS is is extremely well preserved. The bike has been more than well cared for under my custodianship, and this is a bike that you can immediately enjoy. Unlike many other motorcycles offered on ebay, this one was not recently found at a yard sale, washed off and offered for sale. This GS is completely vetted and sorted out. It does not have any of the usual and frustrating issues that are common to those bikes coming out of storage, or to a bike that has been sitting. I did give some thought toward doing a full restoration of this bike, but decided not to. The original factory finishes are too nice to disturb. That said, the finishes are not perfect. There are a couple scuffs and scratches in the paint, and the chrome, although very good, is not show perfect. There are 3 holes in the lower front fender for a flap that has been removed. Meanwhile, the GS did receive a thorough mechanical restoration. Properly set-up suspension is important for a classic bike, so that is where I made some improvements. The original "too soft" fork springs were replaced with "Sonic" springs of the correct weight to properly support the bike and a 185-215 lb rider. New seals and oil were installed and the lower fork legs were restored to their original finish. While the front of the bike was apart, new tapered steering head bearings were pressed into the frame. New front brake pads were also installed. There is a slight pulsing in the front brake depending on lever pressure, but nothing that upsets the bike.At the back of the bike, new Progressive shocks replaced the stock factory dampers. The original shocks are included with the sale and can be mounted for a completely original look. The front and rear tires are newer - period correct sized - Cheng Shins with a couple thousand miles on them. The tires work well and they hold securely at all the lean angles that I found. The engine also received attention to ensure continued smooth performance. The rubber intake manifolds were restored to insure no air leaks. The carburetors were ultrasonically cleaned and then rebuilt with all new rubber o-rings (the good ones - not a cheap carb kit). A new air cleaner was installed and the jetting was adjusted to correct a lean mid-range setting from the factory. The tune-up included new HT (high tension) coils, new plug wires, spark plugs and spark plug caps, along with new points and condensers. A new oil filter and synthetic oil completed the recent engine work. And finally, the entire drive train was updated with a conversion from the 630 chain size to the more commonly used 530 chain along with new front and rear sprockets. The stock gearing ratio was retained. Recently, I took the GS out for a 457 mile ride with a group of modern bikes and it performed flawlessly, with good power and sharp handling. The bike is very comfortable to ride with one of the best seats in the industry. My body felt fresh even after a 10 hour day on the bike. The bike runs excellent, and is ready for the collector or the riding enthusiast, or both. All mechanical work was performed by a certified mechanic with 41 years of classic bike restoration experience. Comes with a clear CA Title. Shipping costs to the lower 48 States can run between $250-550 depending on your location. Arranging and paying for shipping are the responsibility of the buyer. I do have several shipping contacts that I am happy to share with you. The bike can be stored for several weeks (if paid for) while you arrange your transportation. International buyers are welcome. A deposit of $400 is due within 24 hours and is non-refundable. Questions - call Bill at (805) 708-1129. For more info visit my website at vintagemotofactory.com Check out my other items!

This bike has engine number GT380-108577 This was the very first engine serial number in 1977!! That's right, the first one. And the frame is number GT380-95088 and they began with GT380-95063 so this frame is the 25th one made in 1977. I encourage you to bid accordingly as I may decide to keep the bike due to its rarity if bidding stays so low and no one cares about VIN numbers. Thanks. Original scanner unknown. Transcribed from scans of three pages; the scans are found in various places on the internet. Atop the third scanned page numbered "4" is "SERVICE PUBLICATIONS #3 - REVISED 3/25/94." Table cell entries are presumed to be the initial frame and engine numbers for the model year for each model. Some issues with this table: Each model in the original has the date code appended, e. g., RL250L for the 1974 "L" model year, except: FA50 for 1971 has no R suffix. JR50C is listed in 1978 and 1979 (years C and N) with the same serial ranges. RM125M for 1975 (year M) is listed in 1976 (year A) with a different frame serial range than RM125A. Up for auction is my recently built 1982 Honda cb750. First and foremost this bike is a rider, it was built for greater braking handling and acceleration it is meant to go and less show, however with that said this bike and I have been featured recently in Pipeburn's publications along with being re-posted all over the web and won some trophies in vintage classes at local bike shows, but again its a very clean great looking bike but is not perfect it is after all made mostly with recycled parts from other bikes. Copy and paste this to get to the Pipeburn article: pipeburn.com/home/2015/09/28/honda-cb750-charlie-james-customs.html I wanted to add that I really hate to see this bike go so soon would love to keep it longer for it's publicity but really looking to expand into a bigger building trying to grow our name right now and have other projects I would like to complete, and some one is going to get one heck of a custom CB that not only will grab attention where ever it goes but also has the riding ability to back it up. I could write a book on the efforts to make a bike like this but will just hit the main things: Engine is stock with exception of CB900f camshafts new valve cover gasket, timing/valves adjusted, engine covers polished new gaskets for covers as well as Alloy Bolts hardware. Front end is from a early 90's CBR 600 f2, stock cb750 stem pressed and welded onto cbr lower tree, upper yoke, forks (new fluid and seals), rim, calipers, rotors, fender etc... all from F2. Rear end is mid 90's CBR 600 F3, swing arm, 5" rear wheel with new 48t sprocket, custom shims for pivot bolt, new 530x112 chain, caliper, rotor, etc... Bike Master 7/8 superbike bars mounted to upper tree using vintage KTM bar mounts. 1978 Suzuki GS 550 gas tank with new Pingel Racing petcock adapter plate to run 3/8 male npt type petcocks new Harley style chrome petcock.(paint and prep on tank is good but not perfect) The Bonneville Shop 7" carbon head light bucket added a Halogen lamp that has built in leds wired as front indicators. Carbon looking bar ends and levers. Cone type filters with stainless bands instead of big hose clamps. The hand controls/switches I pulled off a bike I parted out I'm almost positive it was a early 2000's Katana. Polished upper tree and engine side covers not mirror polish didn't want chrome shine but they look great and there is a lot of time into them sanding and polishing. AceWell digital speedometer 3700mx has speed tachometer hi beam indicator neutral light + more not there best but very fitting for this type of machine. Honda cbr rear sets with new foot rests (pegs).. Custom sub frame with a very comfortable coffee bean color cafe style seat with a small wrapped hump. Dunlop Sport Max Q2 tires 180/55/17 rear and 120/70/17 front. Integrated Led tail light strip with signals. New old stock OEM Suzuki gas cap for tank. New ytx9bs AGM battery in a fabricated battery box located under bike, behind rear of engine also using a Suzuki battery strap. Vance and Hines Vintage 4into1 in great shape with baffles in tact very nice sound and loud when you open it up New jets from Dime City 70/122 this combo has been working great for me here in Ohio obviously if you take the bike to different elevation or cold/hotter/humid etc.. it may need adjusted to your area. Inside of carbs cleaned inspected replaced some hardware out sides brushed off and lightly solvent cleaned but the engine cases and carbs still have there original finish so there is dirt/grime chips to finish on motor, I really don't like to paint motors always feels like your hiding something this bike has been around for 30+ years its heart (engine) earned that finish! Stock wire harness has been shortened but everything is still there everything is neatly tucked wrapped and hidden, under tank houses flasher relay, fuse panel and solenoid, under the sub frame towards front of seat mounted are the igniters and r/r. There is labeled wires in the headlight bucket for a horn they are already wired to the switch I can even throw in a used horn if your state requires one, I thought maybe get a new small one and hide it in the bucket itself should be enough room. I am sure I didn't touch on every little detail like new bearings and hardware through out but I imagine you get the most of it and there is a walk around video plus lot's of pictures. Being as it is a old bike there is no warranty but you and whoever owns the bike in the future will get and endless supply of help with any questions about the bike how things were done I will even work on the bike maintenance if your near by or can bring it to me. Basically whatever support I can give and others who have bought my bikes metal art etc... can attest to that. Any questions just ask and thanks for looking.
