I am selling this as part of my late brothers estate, my brother LOVED this XS11. He was a master auto mechanic and tooling machine repair man. The condition above is accurate and as much as I hate to sell this, my sister-in-law could use the funds and that trumps anything. My 67yo brother had this bike forever so I am not totally sure of its history. I think that he bought it from his friend who bought it new. The numbers match. Basically the bike was ridden regularly until he became ill and then sat for 3 years on a lift in his garage. I simply rolled it off the lift, washed off the dust and took the pictures to post. On a whim I quick charged the battery, tried to start it and like a good XS11, it started within 10 seconds with 3 year old gas in it !! The engine sounded great and no smoke. I think my brother did put gas stabilizer in it for winter storage which may have helped. Like I said, the carbs were leaking some but I am familiar enough with XS carbs to not freak out at that, those vacuum feed carbs are sensitive to sitting around. I took a video of it running but not sure if ebay will let me post a video. Overall the bike needs a couple weeks on a lift and some good elbow grease to be returned to a great 1st year specimen. The carbs might just "self correct" if some good gas and solvent are ran through. I simply have too many bike projects to do it myself and like I said, the Sis can use the $$. Shipping is on buyers dime and we can help get it loaded of course. We will answer any questions you may have. The BIN price is good deal for someone. I will answer questions as best I can if you have any. FYI , I will be listing a 1975 Suzuki RE5 and 1970 Triumph Trophy soon as well (complete "barn finds").......if you are interested just keep an eye out.

I want to be as transparent of this bikes condition as I can. Here is the good; A lot of the wear and tear components on the bike have recently been replaced, or rebuilt (all done since July of 2016). The Mikuni carb has all new floats, needle and seats, and jets. It starts cold on the first crank of the starter and idles smooth. New fork seals, new Continental "Conti Go" tires, 100 miles on the tires. New bearings in the front and rear wheels The gas tank is clean, I have small fuel filters in front of the carbs for saftey. I installed some cone air filters which made the bike happier in the mid range. I do have he original airbox that will go with he bike (it may be a reproduction). The bad; This XS 1100 is obviously not in complete restored condition. The headlight, handlebar, and turn signals are nor original to the bike. I have had the bike for less than a year, I rode it a good bit over the summer (about 1500 miles) with plans to do a lot of rehab work to it over the winter. I ran into an electrical issue that is above my ability to rectify. The bike starts immediately, doesn't smoke, and rides great. Loads of power, and great acceleration. However, It seems to only get power from the battery. I do not have great skill in sourcing electrical issues. The stator is perfectly clean on the inside, I do not have a meter to check for current. A small patched tear on the front of the seat. A small ding on both sides of the tank from a previous owner flipping the bars over into a cafe look. The wires from the turn signals were pulled from the switch when they did that. Someone did an odd touch up to the right side cover. Their is a small crack on the bottom of that cover that has been epoxied. All this will show in the photos. I have a video from this morning, doing a cold start. I can share this with any interested parties. This bike is repairable, or it is worth a good bit more parted out. I am hoping to sell it complete to someone who will respect it and save it. If I cannot find a reasonable offer. I will sell it as parts.

I'm about to part out this 1978 Yamaha XS1100 and first wanted to see if a possible buyer is available in my area who may wanted to purchase it for the repairs that are needed. It been a project of mine for the last few years. The motor is sound condition and starts but it still needs carb work, I have the new Intake Manifold Boots which I purchased here on eBay this spring (still in the box and never opened). Also recently install (new) was Barnett Kevlar Friction Clutch Plates (8) and springs. The exhaust pipes and headers were also install this year/used also purchased on eBay they came off a 1980 XS1100 special. Both front and back tires are new and never driven on "Dunlop's" The rear shocks are new. That's about all the new stuff (The oil is new -- mobile @ $8 per qtr.) I'm asking what I purchased it for plus the cost in of the new parts; asking $1200 OBO. Thank your for your time.

Runs and rides awesome. Very fast, loud and fun. Lots of time and heart invested. One of a kind. Turn key ready to ride, tuned to run perfect. Will not disappoint. This is my own personal bike and my own personal build. Two videos from today. I don't know how to embed the videos, so please copy and paste the addresses in your browser. The first is a short walk around and cold start in 38f weather. The second is all warmed up and revving. https://youtu.be/csxERWMZT5Ehttps://youtu.be/Zsf8a9VeTfc 1179cc Wiseco big bore forged pistons Ported 1980 big valve cylinder head 1978 2H7 camshafts New Mikuni RS36 Flat slide carbs Vmax auto timing tensioner GSXR1000 Push pull throttle New Mikuni 70mm velocity stacks with Empi boots & Speedmaster screens VN750 coils with Taylor wires & NGK ends NGK Iridium plugs Z1000 front master cylinder ZX9R Clutch perch and lever Galfer stainless front hoses Rebuilt front and rear calipers Rebuilt rear master cylinder New clutch cable Custom Texavina cafe seat Barnett clutch with HD Vesrah springs New clutch cable Frame loop GS500E Front fender GS1100G headlight & bucket Kiwav headlight mounts Yamaha visor Custom upper clamp Neverland Clip ons MAC modified 4 into 1 New front tire Bar end mirrors LED taillight New battery Marzocchi vintage shocks Progressive springs Frame detabbed Fork braceMileage reads 47k. According to him it had about 25000 less than what shows.Clean clear title in hand. I won't ship myself, but will cooperate the best I can with a shipper of your choice. Uship's auction service seems to work very well for an item like this. The bike is kept in Mahwah NJ in climate controlled indoor storage. I can hold the bike for weeks if full payment is made. A $500 non refundable deposit is due at the time of auction close. The remainder is preferred in cash, but electronic means can be used if you want to pay the 3% surcharge on the money. Every time I sell a bike I end up running the listing 2-3 times due to d3ad b3at bidders. Please don't bid if you don't plan on buying. It costs time and money. If I can't get a response from a bidder or buyer I won't wait and will instantly relist. Ridiculous offers will not be entertained. I bought this bike new in spring of 1978. The mufflers were the first thing to be replaced. I installed a kirker system, well even a kirker can't last forever. It now has a chrome system I found on Ebay. Imagen that! Next was the seat. This time I found a seat kit at JC Whitney and the handle bars. Well even JC Whitney vinyl won't last forever, so I had it recovered with leather. Yes it is beginning to show some age. Next, Sport fairings were becoming popular, and I found a company called Greer sport fairings, or something like that. I called them and asked if they had one for the xs1100. They said they had not fit one to the xs1100 yet, but they thought their Kawasaki mount would work. They offered to send me the mount and let me test fit it, and if it fit let them know and we would get together on the rest. Well it fit, so I guess I have the only XS1100 with a greer sport fairing! Sense the bike looked sporty, I thought it needed new shocks. So I installed Fox Shox. The right one is leaking now. I also installed progressive front springs. and not to long ago the front fork seals were replaced. You may or may not know about the rubber carb mounts. Well they are prone to cracking. Usually the cracks don't go all the way through and cause a vacuum leak, but theses were looking pretty bad so they were replaced 2 - 3 years ago. Those are the high lights from 1978 till today. Now I will try to tell you what you are looking at in the photos. pic 1 looks good, the gold emblems have been replaced. the plastic side panels have been cracked and repaired, only show on the back side pic 1 & 2 & 3 You can see where the side cases stick through the fairing side panels I had to trim the fairing to fit. pic 5 notice the bike still has the center stand pic 6 notice the small rear sig lights and the kerker sticker is from when it had a kerker pic 9 the fairing is not bent I just did not have the handle bars straight pic 12 - 14 details of the gas tank. the top paint is cracking, the pin strips are cracking and cloudy, and where the throdel cable touches the tank on full lock right, paint is damaged pin strips all over are not perfect pic 15 you can see the seat is showing some age pic 17 that is the chrome on the tail lamp, trying to show that there is some rust here and there. pic 18 Fox Shox pic 19 the not leaking shock pic 20 the leaking shock pic 21 - 22 I'm going to estimate the tires are about 1/2 and the front is beginning to show some cracking on the side walls There are a few oil leaks, and it will smoke on start up. The left fuel valve will leak if you move the lever. don't move it and it won't leak.

This is a great bike. I purchased it off of CraigsList about two months ago and started working on it. I had the carbs cleaned and tuned to an after market set of exhaust pipes. Head light and brights work while blinkers need to be rewired. (quick job). I have been wrenching on it and tuning it up. The rear brakes recently got air in the line so they need to be bled. When I purchased the bike I received the Pink Slip for change of ownership but never actually made it to change my name onto the title. All you have to do is walk in and sign it to you. I originally wanted 1600 for the bike considering the time and money I put into building it to its running state. But since the breaks are in need of bleeding you'll have to pick this guy up in a truck or trailer. It runs beautifully. Feel free to test drive it but just be wary of soft rear breaks. I also purchased brand new thick white wall tires for this bike and they cost me $400 for the set. Still packaged I am willing to sell for $200 if wanted. give me a call at (805) 921-6484 if interested.
