1979 Honda GL1000 runs and rides nice. Tons of new parts New: Starter and solenoid Front and rear master cylinders Front and rear brake pads Dyna coils, plugs and wires Dyna electronic ignition Push and pull throttle cables Clutch cable Recent service, timing belts fluid changes and head gasket. Carbs rebuilt and sychronized New Avon road rider tires Backrest recovered The bad: Exhaust is a little rough and a bit to loud for me. Rear tires loses air after a few days I think the rim may leak Small tear in the seat Rock chips in the timing cover Overall it's a good running nice example of a classic GL1000 Buyer will need to pick up bike in person ONLY with cash. Up for sale is my 1979 Honda GL1000 Goldwing. I'm the 2nd owner and I am selling due to the fact I no longer have time to ride, because of my job and because I gought a ST1100, so it has been sitting for the past few months. When I was riding it daily it ran good and didn't give me any problems, but now due to it sitting for a few months, it needs a little work to get back on the road and run good again. . ..maybe carbs cleaning, tune up. I don't know exactly. I'm not a mechanic It starts on 1st try, and drives but it is not in drivable condition for the road. It needs a little work to be perfect. It has less than 20k miles. The 1st owner did not ride much and the bike sat for over 20+ years. And a friend of mines brought it from a yard sale and fixed it up to running and drivable condition. Turn signals, brakes, horn work perfectly fine. The Speedometer is about 13 mph off. The mileage has stop turning, but the trip meter works fine. Make a long story short. When I got the bike, the speedomater/mph wasn't working correctly. So I had the guages changed, now the Mileage is not turning There is a tear in the seat, you can see in the pictures I added the fairing, windshield, saddlebags (no keys) and trunk (no key) holds 2 full face helmets. The KBB value is $2700 for a naked bike without all those things. There are some on Ebay that are listed for $4k and up. The bike still has value. Buyer is responsible for shipping and Pick up. Ask any question you may have. Up for sale is my 1979 Honda GL1000 Goldwing. The bike was purchased as a simple project a while ago and we simply do not have time to get to it. It has resided in So. California since new and has been garage stored, as you can tell by it's condition. This beautiful Honda has never been abused, neglected, dropped, or damaged. All paint and chrome are OEM original and in great shape. From what I have been told, the blue color is very rare on these GL1000's. We purchased the bike as you see it, with all of the boxes, front air dam, radio and speakers, etc. removed and been in storage. We had the seat completely restored about a month ago and it is perfect. Mechanically, it has not been run in about 5 years, but has been stored inside out of the moisture and weather. Unfortunately, the starter clutch is bound up and when you put a battery to her, it will only engage about one in every 20 tries. I hear that there is a simple way of freeing it up, but I simply so not have the time. I did check the plugs and they look just about new and show that the bike was running very well when last started. Oil looks clean. The front calipers are tight, bu do work. I removed them and swung them over the fender to make it easier to roll. Gas tank looks great inside. The chassis is very clean and free of oil and grease. As evident from the pictures, the previous owner took great care of her until sh was put into storage. I don't think it will take more than a new battery, fix the starter clutch, and a little service to have her back on the road. I am sure a complete but simple going over and you will be cruising the road again. Comes with all of the accessories pictured. I have a clean California title. Last registration was 2010. If you have been looking for one of these to tinker with and enjoy, this is the one. Most of these after 34 years have been repainted, torn apart and put back together wrong, damaged, abused, etc. This bike is purely original and very well preserved. Don't miss out on the really unique and classic old Goldwing. We will miss her.....

Fully restored 1979 Honda GL1000. 1979 was the last year for the GL1000. Valve covers have been removed, oxide sanded, polished and clear coat sprayed. Front forks have been sanded, polished and clear coated as well. Grips have been changed back to new original style. Everything on this bike has been serviced (oil & filter, air filter, fuel filter, radiator flushed and new coolant, brakes flushed & new fluid). Front & rear brake master cylinders have been rebuilt. Drivers floor boards with toe/heal shifter. New passenger floor boards. Engine crash bars and new highway pegs. New clutch and brake handles. Fairly new battery, new tires (still have new tire strings on them). New plugs & Dynatek electronic ignition. New Saddlemen King/Queen seat. Windjammer fairing as sold by Honda. Honda original 3 removable luggage set. Passenger back rest. Internal engine belts changed. New chrome timing chain cover. New valves, clearance adjusted (signs of lower end rebuild). Wired for Tom Tom GPS. Has original style windjammer radio unit with new radio. Recently added a trailer hitch. Shows 31, xxx on the odometer but, most likely is 131,xxx. Doubt there is a better Goldwing out there. Yes you can buy one for $1,500 (maybe) but, plan on adding another $1,500 to get up to par.

1979 Honda Goldwing with factory Vetter fairing and saddle bags. Updated with GL1100 carbs. Starts, runs, and rides great. A collectible 35 year old bike at a good price. Tires and battery are excellent. Fuel pump, plugs, cam belts, clutch cable, water pump, brake pads are new. Front and rear master cylinders are rebuilt. Carburetors were cleaned. This bike will "whine" a little on heavy acceleration, but I am told that this is normal for these bikes because of the gear design. Also will smoke a little out the left exhaust when starting after setting up for a while parked with the kickstand down instead of service stand. (oil pools around valve seals in this position). This is also normal for these bikes. This is a low mileage first gen Goldwing that needs some polish and riding. Since I am not the original owner, I can't guarantee the 30K+ mileage, but the condition of the bike leads me to believe it is correct.
