1979 HONDA CB650 - ORIGINAL CONDITION! DESCRIPTION: This 1979 Honda CB650 is in great condition for it's age and appears to be all original and complete! The chrome is in nice shape, the paint is decent for it's age, it has good tires, a strong battery, and a clean title. The bike does start easy and runs but will not idle. It will need a little work to run perfect and is being sold as is. It's rare to find these bikes in this condition, and this one would be perfect for a restoration, custom cafe racer, or a vintage daily driver! It appears to be all original although it looks like the speedometer has been changed at some point. The paint is a little faded and there are some scratches/flaking/etc. but for being original it's not too bad. The chrome is real nice with only a few spots of light corrosion/minor pitting. The turn signals have electrical tape holding them tight. The horn and tachometer do not work, looks like the tachometer just needs a cable. Everything else on the bike works including all lights. The bike does shift into gear and the clutch works as it should. The bike does start right up and runs when revving but will not idle. The bike has been sitting for a few years (indoors) so we are assuming it just needs a tune-up and some basic trouble shooting but we can't make any promises as we have not looked into this at all. The only thing we did was put some fresh gas in the tank, so this bike is being sold as-is. And of course the bike has some typical wear and tear. This bike is not mint, but still very nice condition for it's age! Please review all photos closely and feel free to ask any questions. Frame has had all the unnecessary tabs shaved and the rear end hooped. Frame, Swing arm, wheels, triple trees, brake calipers, exhaust and most frame parts were powder coated. Wheels had new bearings, and champion deluxe tires put on them. Brakes were rebuilt with new O-rings, seals, lines and master cylinder. Tank was lined and paintedwith ppg paint. Mileage on the bike was around 20K. Has had about 400 miles put on it since the build. Forks were rebuilt and has new shocks. Motor re-gasketed and painted. Has a cycle X 4 into 2 carb system. To many other things done to list. bike looks beautiful and only has minor flaws like a minor paint scratches on the engine case and a ding in the front fender. I originally bought the bike for 10k and had it shipped out here. I've had a lot of work done to it to get the bike purring, including new ignition cool, cleaned carbs, recompression of cylinders and made the bike street legal. It is a 40 year old bike and needs TLC but runs great. This bike was my first one and I just haven't enjoyed as much as I thought and have other life ambitions I could use the money for at this time.
