1979 HONDA CB650 - ORIGINAL CONDITION! DESCRIPTION: This 1979 Honda CB650 is in great condition for it's age and appears to be all original and complete! The chrome is in nice shape, the paint is decent for it's age, it has good tires, a strong battery, and a clean title. The bike does start easy and runs but will not idle. It will need a little work to run perfect and is being sold as is. It's rare to find these bikes in this condition, and this one would be perfect for a restoration, custom cafe racer, or a vintage daily driver! It appears to be all original although it looks like the speedometer has been changed at some point. The paint is a little faded and there are some scratches/flaking/etc. but for being original it's not too bad. The chrome is real nice with only a few spots of light corrosion/minor pitting. The turn signals have electrical tape holding them tight. The horn and tachometer do not work, looks like the tachometer just needs a cable. Everything else on the bike works including all lights. The bike does shift into gear and the clutch works as it should. The bike does start right up and runs when revving but will not idle. The bike has been sitting for a few years (indoors) so we are assuming it just needs a tune-up and some basic trouble shooting but we can't make any promises as we have not looked into this at all. The only thing we did was put some fresh gas in the tank, so this bike is being sold as-is. And of course the bike has some typical wear and tear. This bike is not mint, but still very nice condition for it's age! Please review all photos closely and feel free to ask any questions. Hello, This auction is for 1979 CB 650 cafe project. The front end is from a 1995 Kawasaki ZX-7, adding dual front brakes and improved handling. The bike was running when it was broken down, the motor rebuilt, and the frame stripped and painted. New parts include chain, key and ignition, custom seat and carbon fiber seat pan, carb rebuild kits, aftermarket exhaust and heaps more. Original parts removed from the bike are included as well. Also included are both the Honda and Kawasaki maintenance manuals. Cosmetically this bike is not perfect but it will be a beautiful built not bought victory for someone with the time to finish it out. I moved the bike into storage when I moved with the intention of finishing it - its been sitting there for over a year and I need to let it go. This is an unfinished project, it needs work! This is a classic bike that's been kept in great condition for being 37 years old. The years show but it still runs great. Starts up every time, runs beautifully, and *just* got new tires. The problem this bike has is electrical and I unfortunately don't know a **** thing about that. You will need to put this bike on a charger each night because the stator/rotor/RR has some issue. It would not be expensive or difficult to fix if you know something about electrics. With this bike, I will include the Haynes manual, the battery charger I've been using, and my jacket and helmet (if you want 'em).
