This bike is sick. 36 years old and the black & gold paint are still original and in 100% perfect condition. I am the 3rd owner. Two retired men were the previous owners and had very detailed ledger of tuneups. It sounds, looks, rides perfectly. I did install a new taillight - same as the original. The mirrors were also added but can easily be removed. Still starts on the first & second kick - check it out on youtube - watch?v=gxnH9vs5AJg Title is clear and in my name. You have to come pick this up in KC,MO or pay for shipping. Either way. There is a really nice vintage bike garage in KC, blue star motorcycles, that I have always taken it to. One of the guys who runs the shop is a nut for Triumph bikes and had mentioned that '79 was the last year for these bikes so it is a pretty rare bike to see in this condition. I could meet you there. Shoot me a message.

This low mileage 750cc Triumph 5 speed is a Texas barn find that comes with complete documentation including : clear Texas title, original dealer bill of sale from Wilson's Motorcycles in Odessa, original Triumph registration slip, original yellow tag that was on the ignition key in the showroom, original Triumph warranty papers, original owners handbook and original tool kit , extra ignition key, fork lock and seat keys. This Triumph hasn't been on the road since 2009. It had not been started for a year when I looked at it-but started on the first kick. It still starts first kick, idles at 500 rpm, runs smartly up through the gears and sounds like a Triumph should. This is the left hand shift, front and rear disc brake, oil in the frame model. it is extremely easy to pop up on the center stand. The inside of the gas tank appears as new with no rustThe float bowls were cleaned and new fuel lines were installedNew clutch plates from the Bonneville Shop were installed as the old ones were hardened and stuck togetherThe front and rear master cylinders were replaced with stainless cylinders from the Bonneville Shop along with new brake linesThe tires are Dunlop Road Master TT100's and appear original. They have minor age cracking The seat is in excellent shapeChrome on the fenders, headlight and turn signal stalks is excellentRear wheel chrome has some minor rust spots from gravel dingsFront wheel chrome is very goodChain was cleaned and re-oiledGas tank paint is very good for age. Blue paint is very good/the white section has some very fine checkingGas tank badges are excellentSide cover paint is presentable but somewhat fadedFrame paint is goodEverything works including original turn signalsFluids changed, filter cleaned, filled with Valvoline 20-50The battery holds a constant chargeAll parts that were replaced will come with the motorycleThis Triumph would make an excellent, well documented restoration project or a fantastic cafe bike. Ready to ride just like it is. Cash or Paypal only. Buyer arranges transportation.

Matching numbers 1978 Triumph TR7RV First introduced in 1937 as a '500', the Triumph twin underwent one of the longest development processes in motorcycling history before emerging as a '750' some 30-plus years later. This final phase of Triumph twin development began late in 1972 with the first appearance of the new enlarged-to-750cc version of the Bonneville and TR6, the increase in bore size necessitating a new crankcase to accommodate the larger barrel. Other improvements included a new ten-stud cylinder head, triplex primary chain, stronger transmission and a disc front brake. A five-speed gearbox, introduced on the preceding 650 Bonneville, was standard equipment on the 750. Despite the age of the basic design and strong competition from Japanese and European manufacturers, the Bonnie and its single carb sister the TR7, remained for many years the UK's top-selling 750 and was voted Motor Cycle News 'Machine of the Year' in 1979. The bike offered here was built in November, 1977, and remains a matching numbers 1978 model, offered as a great riding bike in very good all ‘round condition. But then look closer at the nuts and bolts and see the lack of wear and it becomes apparent how original the bike is. A few mods over the years are apparent – the exhaust for instance, but the basic bike remains untouched. Paint is very good with a couple of very minor scratches on the tank. The inside of the tank looks almost new. Original fenders, wheels and other cycle parts are all excellent. From the general condition, I would surmise that the bike has been in long-term good storage and that the indicated 12,000 miles is genuine. The bike runs well with good power, and shift through the gears well with a good clutch. Brakes and suspension work as they should, as do all electrical components. The bike is freshly serviced.

The time has come for my Bonneville to go. I've loved her but now it's time for someone else to. This bike is as original as they come, which can sometimes mean rough condition. NOT IN THIS CASE!! The chrome is as close to perfect as i've seen on a '79, the paint is not quite perfect but at least an 8 out of 10 and tires are at 90%. The bike is extremely reliable, will fire up in the first or second kick and runs out like a 750cc Bonnie should. This bike is the real deal. It's a collectors bike that you can ride, and as close to art as a motorcycle can be. 16696 miles.
