This is an original 1980 Harley Davidson Tour Glide with a 80ci shovel head motor. The King of the Highway back in the day. This is in good condition featuring only usual wear. Regular maintenance has been done recently changing the oil in the motor as well as the primary. Tires have tread on them. Please see the pictures to see the quality for yourself. I'm listing a 1980 Harley FLT Tour Glide. The bike has several new parts including a Harley-Davidson front tire, Dyna 2000 Electronic Ignition, Brakes including Braided Brake Lines and New HD Hand Grips. The bike has been serviced including new fork seals/oil, all new fluids and a new air filter. I removed the fuel tank and flushed it several times with fuel to clean out rusty particles. I installed a new petcock and a fuel filter. It starts easily and runs great. The lights, horn and turn signals etc.. work as they should. The paint appears to be original and has some flaws and the chrome has some scratches and rust damage (see photos). The windshield has a crack (see photos). I bought the bike from an estate and was not able to speak with the prior owner (deceased). The bike was parked inside a building when it quit running. I found the cause to be the original HD Electronic Ignition Module had failed...I will try to work with a buyer that is somewhat local on delivery with my motorcycle trailer.

1980 HD FLT. The GOOD:Sounds awesome great pipes.New battery.New starter.New solenoid.Looks and sounds mean as hell.Runs good once warmed up. Starts right up.(started for me with little effort after sitting for 8 months in my storage.) The BAD:Brakes are spongy.Clutch needs to be tightened up. Real pain to get into neutral unless not running. One headlight and one tail light out.Not pretty has some patina. Leaks oil from the crankcase vent tube.(it's a shovel) Needs a tune up. I went and dug this guy out of storage, fired it up and rode it home. Ever since it has sat in my driveway. That was about two months ago. I have owned the bike for about a year and a half or so, the majority of that time it has sat in my garage or storage shed, I ride when I can but work keeps me overseas most of the time. The 80 flt had a lot of first, It is the first rubber mount engine/frame and the same basic design was used until 2009. It is also the first 5 speed transmission and used until 2006. It also introduced the enclosed rear chain drive with an oil bath. The 1980 FLT is the father of all current touring models. I loved the look of it and the sound of the motor. I originally wanted to Bob it out but after learning about it I figured it be best just to get an flh and not cut this guy up. Definitely has a pure look to it. Things that happen to you when you ride this STALLION.1. You get taller.2. Your appendages get longer.(yes all of them)3. You get a chiseled jaw line.4. You get one punch knock out power.5. You get cool scars that chicks dig.6. You get a Rap sheet.7. You grow a ZZ top beard over night.But seriously it's a cool bike and you will feel ten feet tall and bullet proof when riding it. BUT it will need some work. Not for someone who doesn't understand that a 36 year old bike requires a little extra TLC. I ride it but I always give myself plenty of room to stop and I don't take it on the interstate. With a good tune up I'm sure it would be fine in all driving conditions. It pretty much is just doesn't want to stop and doesn't want to go into neutral. The shark nose and hard bags have a bed liner on em, not my doing but it grew on me. Like I said, not a show winner but really you could clean this bike up pretty easily I just prefer the dirty bird kinda look. Thanks for reading my add I hope you find what your looking for. This Bikes starts right up and runs nice, but it has been sitting for a few years. I changed the oil, Fresh Fuel, cleaned the carb and installed a Brand new Genuine Harley-Davidson Battery and it fired up with no hesitations. Its titled as a 1980 Harley Davidson. The bike does have a Santee Frame, and I do have the original MSO for that also. I rode the bike around the block a few times and it shifted well. The brakes will need to be serviced and I would change the tires. Again its been sitting, so assume this bike needs to be gone over and have some stuff overhauled before its road worthy. The mileage shows 1,900 but I do not know if thats accurate.
