Here is a 1980 Yamaha XS1100 Eleven Special runs and drives with the choke on should have the carbs cleaned I rode it up and down the street today at 75mph very fast bike and the transmission shifted threw all the gears good,this is one of two his and her Yamahas I have for sale on ebay,brakes work,has 39,972 miles,i took a picture of the tach while it was running and reved the rpms up,hi and low beam work,brake lite works,horn works,signals don't work,battery starts the bike right up,sometimes you have to push the push button start button twice to work,tank is clean inside,selling as is although theres no major repairs that need to be repaired on the bike,i have a clear title,auction may end early,buyer will have to pay for shipping and locate there own shipper if one is neded im not sure there prices I can meet them at my door they have been here several times bfore,i can store the bike for seven days after the auction ends,paypalaccepted as payment if your not local,Thanks for looking and good luck bidding the bike is located in Forest lake Minnesota 55025.

Yamaha : XS Needs work, engine stuck

Try this again do to nonpaying bidder. This bike is complete, minus battery, with a key and a clear title in my name. I have never seen or heard it run and I'm unsure of mechanical condition. The engine is stuck and will not turn over, throttle has limited movement as well. Transmission shifts through all gears and clutch moves freely. Gas tank has rust inside and was poorly repainted. Seat is torn on both sides at bottom edges with tiny spots of what is believed to be latex paint. It has scrapes, and scratches all over as seen in pics but presentable for its age. The Yamaha XS 850 Midnight Special was a line of motorcycles produced by the Yamaha from 1976 to 1981, {This one is a 1980}, for the worldwide motorcycle market. The Midnight Special has the gloss black, and Gold treatment, this gave it a one of a kind, head turning look! This bike received rave reviews in Cycle World, who called it a "Bargain BMW" and rated it one of their top 10 bikes in the world. The Yamaha factory "special" is the fore fathers of the modern day cruiser. The feeling of a three-banger comes from the dual life it leads. It tries to blend the torque of a twin with the fast revving horsepower of an in-line four and in my opinion does an all right job of it. The XS850 is a strong running right off the line and makes a good amount of power through its rev range. Not to say that it's a tire shredding beast, but rather a competent motor for hauling around a rider or two and their gear. This one came to us as a trade in. 1980 Yamaha 650. The Good: runs great ready to ride. Recently passed NY state inspection. New Battery, New tires, New 1 inch lowering shocks, New tool bag on front forks, new carry bag on seat. I have the front fender and stock shocks. Now the Bad: the right exhaust is blown out. It has been for a long time. I like it that way. It gives the bike a nice growl. The turn signals JUST quit working. They turn on but won't flash. I suspect the flasher unit. you fix. I am located 1 hour south of Buffalo NY.
