My uncle bought it in '85 from Yamaha dealer and barely road it for three seasons, let it sit with gas in the carbs and didn't charge the battery and never got it started. He paid me to get it started for him. Then he did not drain the fuel again and so he gave it to me. Bike has 2,400 original miles. KBB/nada is listed at $1755, but this is better than excellent condition I think its worth closer to $2500 as it is now, so I wouldnt take a penny less that the top of Blue book. I have other bikes if you want something cheap and reliable, this is a gemstone. Not one scratch on it, no rust to be found anywhere. Only a little patina on the engine. I rebuilt the carbs, it was really easy once I cleaned the gas out of it that had sat in there since the 1980's it was thick as molasses! Original complete tool kit pouch and owners manual. This bike is flawless. Put brand new tires on it and a brand new chain, new pads in front. It will need new rear drum shoes probably in a month or two depending how you ride. If you like, I can put new rear pads on for you no problem, I just prefer to use up the ones on there til they get to the "low" indicator on the drum. Well designed bike. Easiest Ive ever worked on. Its two cylinders, so its simple, two carbs, DOHC, 5 speed transmission, 400cc will fly 100mph and keep up on the highway but is really great for bobbing around town. I'm 6'2'' 210 pounds and this is still comfortable and fun for me. I just don't have the space for it! Its so nice, I thought I'd see if there was a collector out there interested in a museum grade every day rider? Or just a newbie or shorter rider or female that wanted a cheap yet reliable, in all intensive purposes NEW bike. ?? Please let me know. Glad to answer any questions. It won best Japanese over 400cc in a major motorcycle show in Chicago. I have broken down everything that has been done to each component of the motorcycle.ENGINE: There is just over 250 miles on the rebuilt engine. Bored 20 thousands over with new pistons, wrist pins, rings, and a valve adjustment. Performance oil filter and cooler kit.FUEL & AIR: Keihnen performance carburetors, with a Mike's XS 2 into 1 matching tuned exhaust.BRAKES: Honda R6 front master brake assembly and big dual front disc brakes and rotors. Stainless steel brake lines as well as a new rear master cylinder.SUSPENSION: New fork tubes with internal adjusters, Mike's XS front fork brace. Front forks been custom cut and lowered 2 1/2 inces.
