This Yamaha YZ465 is a complete tear down and ground up build vintage race bike. This was built by a expert rider from that era to be his personal vintage racer and not intended to be a museum or show bike. This motorcycle runs and works well. This bike runs drives and goes through all the gears, but I must tell you that I sometimes don't have the power to kick it over so I end up pull starting it. It looks like someone has had it bored out at one time, due to the markings on the engine. The bike shifts through all the gears like it should, the clutch feels good. The handle bars are bent a little. It has a few dings in the header pipe. Not a prefect bike but isn't bad either. I encourage anyone interested in it to come by and look at it. It's a very quick bike and has lots of power. Local pickup only. I don't have title for bike. And texas buyers will pay 6.75% sales tax. Please ask any questions before bidding. Thanks

This a rebuilt BIG BORE 2 stroke 465 YZ.Motor has been gone through and rebuilt using yamaha bearing and seals.Second over piston and rings installed.Rod was in good shape and within tolerance when disassembled. Front forks have new seals. Rear shock has been completely rebuilt and a modern remote resivor with compression and rebound damping was added.New DG exhaust system was put on bike.All work was done 3 years ago. Bike has been ridden at 3 post vintage events. Not much time on motor. Front rim is a SUN and rear is a D.I.D. They are not Gold as was stock. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Buyer is responsable for shipping.Seller will help in any way they can to get bike shipped for the buyer.This is a 34 year old motorcross bike and will need some adjusting to fit your riding style. Carb is jetted for 2500 ft elevation. Below is a list of new parts that are not listed above. 1981 Yamaha YZ 465, Restored and Race Ready, Can display in your home or win on the track with it ! Garage kept and professionally maintained ! Perfect bike for AHRMA Post Vintage Motocross racing. Needs nothing to race right now. Has all original equipment including the original monoshock (which has been rebuilt and ready to go) and the awesome 1981 gold rims by Yamaha. Upgrades include a brand new pair of Maxxis tires, full DG exhaust system, Pro Taper bars and pillow top grips, Bob Hannah "Hurricane" seat cover, and oversized Billet pegs. Brakes, chain, and sprockets are not new but are race ready and have plenty of laps left in them. Top end is fresh and power is plenty! The only flaw is the tip of the rear fender (see pictures) - didn't want to change since it was the original. Just changed transmission oil and spark plug and refreshed the air cleaner. LOCAL PICK UP ONLY IN HAMBURG, NJ 07419. NO DELIVERY, NO SHIPPING. SORRY. Complete running bike with title! (offroad only) I just did a carburetor cleaning, tank & petcock cleaning, oil change, coolant flush and refill, greased the suspension linkage, adjusted the chain slack, adjusted the tire pressures, etc. I'll also throw in a brand new pair of black Scott "Hurricane" grips. It starts up relatively easy for a big bore 2 stroke, runs real good, will idle all day long and pull the front end up on demand. The transmission goes through all the gears smoothly, the clutch works well. No leaks or issues, the brakes work very well, the suspension is not blown, the tires are like new, the steering, suspension & wheel bearings all seem good. It's an excellent restoration candidate or have some fun with it as it is. It's a very rare & powerful bike and, best of all, it comes with the title. I'm also open to trade offers, but only for dirt bikes and sport/race quads. Many of these will not be straight up trades, so please be prepared to add cash on top. I, too am prepared to add cash on top for the right deal. In particular, I'm interested in 1982-1983 YZ100, 1980-1981 YZ465, 1982-1990 YZ490, 1983-1984 IT490, 1990-2004 Warrior, YFZ450, mid-late '80s CR250 or CR500, Quadzilla LT500R.
