Modified 1981 Honda CB 750 Super Sport NO SHIPPING - LOCAL PICKUP OR buyer-arranged shipping ONLY. Buyer must either pick up locally or engage a shipper to transport the motorcycle from Blue Grass Iowa. Location is convenient to Interstate 80 near Walcott, Iowa. NO INTERNATIONAL SALE. Selling this bike for the owner, who considers this his "Really Sweet Ride". Runs well, great acceleration. History: purchased from previous owner in 2004 in Muscatine, Iowa. Total bike miles 41559. About 3,000 miles ago the engine had a top-end rebuild, boring out the cylinders to an 820cc capacity. The seat was changed from two riders to one, the rear end was lowered about 1/2 inch, and the tailpiece modified to accept a top box, and the brake lever replaced by a Seca Yamaha master cylinder and lever for better response. 4 High-performance carbs and 52mm air cleaners for plenty of air. Condition: Dents on top of gas tank, possibly not seen in photos; corrosion spot on gas tank exterior as seen in photos. Some occasional other corrosion as seen in photos. Tail light on the top box not presently wired. One of the air filters is missing, requiring the engine to need the choke partly on, to run properly. Rear tire has a leak, going flat in a week's time. Front tire has about 1000 miles, rear tire about 1 year. Brakes good, new battery installed Sep 2015. Bike has been sitting without being run since being driven and parked inside here in March 2015. Owner insists on not having it started now until carburetors are drained to preclude "old gas" problems. The photograph of the windshield makes the lower portion look crazed or cracked, but the camera just picked up the stress fractures of the tinting on that lower portion. In normal light it is only slightly visible, looking nothing like the photo. CORRECTION: The tinting stress fractures ARE very visible in reflected light. Buyer to pay by mail or deliver in person money order or cashier's check, allowing enough time to confirm the availability of the funds, before picking up or shipping the bike, or pay in person by cash at time of pick-up. Upon sale, owner will sign the transfer portion of the Iowa title, satisfying the Iowa side of the transfer. Selling this beautiful Honda CB650 Cafe Racer. I am not apt at taking good photos, these don't do it justice. I bought the bike last year from the gentleman who built it up. She's an absolute beauty, she runs great and she was always garaged. She's weeping a tiny bit of oil, probably a gasket needs to be replaced. Since I am working so much nowadays I don't get to enjoy her. I have done minor work on the bike: 1. I completely resealed the tank. I did a VERY thorough job removing the old liner and put in THREE layers of sealer. This tank will last a long time. 2. Installed a JW Speaker EVO 2 LED Headlight. This headlight is absolutely incredible 3. Installed a flasher for the brake light and an LED bulb. Selling my 1981 Honda CB750 Custom. I've owned this bike for about 2 years now and it's been a blast to work on. Very simple construction and very intuitive to learn on. Reason I'm selling: Bike is just too big and I bought a boat so I need some garage space. I'm only about 5' 7" 160 lbs and this 500lb hog is just a little too hard for me to run by myself. That said, it's a great starter bike for someone taller or bigger. New/Replaced: Carb o-rings Carb bowl gaskets Overhead cam seal Pod filters (still have the original airbox) Recently Cleaned: Carburators Fuel tank Needs: Carb tuning Fork seal replacement? (I have the parts, just never got around to changing it) I have a clean title ready to go home with you and the bike. Bike runs a little rough, but I just cleaned the carbs inside and messed with the sync and air screws so I know it's just a carb sync issue. I just don't have the time to adjust the screws, run it, adjust a little more and repeat. Sindt quoted me $85 bucks a carb to sync the carbs but since I'm selling it, I'll let you do that. Bike fires up on the first crank with the choke on every time so again, just needs some tuning to have her running perfect. Send me an email if you're interested. I also have these bikes listed on Craigslist. So if they sell there first this ad will be taken down. I bought these bikes in January hoping to finish the project before I moved to Chicago. I ran out of time as I leave in 3 and a half weeks so I am posting here to get rid of them. I would estimate that the one bike is about 70% of the way completed but that is just an estimate. The red bike that I was working on is an 1982 and the other bike which was my parts bike is a 1981. Both are nearly identical and Honda Customs. Comes with one intact motor and the other bike has a complete motor, but has been disassembled for parts. Both bikes have clear titles so are legal to ride if you get them up and going. Make me an offer, I just need them gone. There are no returns both are consider parts bikes as neither are fully assembled. Local pick up only. Continue my project or disassemble everything and part it out, well over a $1000 worth of parts. I just need to get rid of it before the move. Also comes with shop manual if you want to continue where I left off. Does not come with aftermarket handlebars in the picture. I have taken them off and mounted them to my cb360 cafe racer.
