This is the best highway bike that I have owned out of nine. Great running, no leaks. This includes all parts to put back to full dresser minus the two up seat pictured and fish tail dual exhaust, they were both cracked and sold. This bike has always been garage kept in a heated garage and the cover on. Will throw in bike lift with sale.

1981 Harley-Davidson Shovelhead , Photobucket :// /user/TinBadge/library/81%20Harley%20Davidson%20FLH?sort=3&page=1 No Trades and I will not accept PayPal 1981 Harley Davidson Shovelhead FL Classic. Purchased from the original owner in 1988 and has always been in a heated garage. The bike is not perfect and dose show the age of a 32 year old bike in the paint and chrome here and there but is still very nice. It has been a rider not a show queen. The bike when bought had 76 aux lights on it and many were removed as it looked like a rolling freak show but I kept what was removed and it all goes with the bike. The tour-pack was also removed along with the under the handlebar AM/FM 8 track stereo and speaker holder all of which match the paint on the bike. I also have the original mufflers and anything that was removed when it was upgraded if it was still usable and specific to the bike. I have all the receipts for everything that was bought for the bike by me and replaced. 04/03 the highway bar/engine guard was replaced due to me going off the side of the road and a rock was sticking out of the hillside and caught the highway bar and bent it back and there were these extra lights on the inside of the highway bar that had chrome stanchions on top of the lights that when it got bent back it tagged the gas tank and this is where the dent in the right side gas tank came from as well as the dent in the top of the fender when the front compressed from the sudden stop and also struck extra lights that were on bottom of the headlight bar causing a dent in it as well. Pictures of this have been provided minus the lights and extra chrome that the original owner had put on the bike and was still there when this happened. The bike sat un-ridden from 1988 till 2000 with the electrical system and speedo removed but nothing else wrong otherwise and was put back on the road in 2001 and has had something upgraded or replaced every year since. Total mileage of the bike is approx. 15000 miles. A list of some of the things that have been done are the electrical was redone and upgraded with two relays that control the aux marker lights which have been converted over to LEDs as well as the turn signals with power being taken off the main switch and ran through two relays. The main switch was also replaced with a heavy duty electronic one 09/05. Progressive adj rear shocks were installed 09/03. The Primary was redone and clutch replaced in 10/05 with the clutch being upgraded to a Kevlar five finger one. The battery was replaced with a Gel Harley Battery that was smaller and I made aluminum brackets to hold it in the original spot with all being bolted in and this is reversible. There is more but it will not all fit here so call if interested. Scott 304-629-8361 $7,500.00 3046298361

1980 Harley-Davidson FLH Shovelhead (FLH-80 Electra Glide II), The Shovelhead is an air-cooled, 45 degree, V-twin motorcycle engine manufactured from 1966 to 1985 by Harley-Davidson. Initial models had an engine displacement of 1,208 cc (74 cu in). Roughly halfway through production of the 1978 model year, this was increased to 1,340 cc (82 cu in) for some of Harley's Big Twin bikes. 1340cc, referred to by the company as 80ci., engines were optional on FLH models halfway through 1978 and through all of '79 before becoming standard equipment for FLH models in 1980. These bikes were referred to as FLH-80 Electra Glide II models. FX model bikes continued to be offered with either 1200 or 1340 cc engines till 1981 when 1340cc, also referred to as 80 ci., was made standard across the Big Twin line.Customized Shovelhead Electra GlideThe "shovel" cylinder head represented an offshoot of the Harley-Davidson Knucklehead engine but featured a slightly different look. The name was derived from the appearance of the rocker box covers. Because these covers bring to mind the head of coal shovels when inverted, the name shovelhead was a natural progression. The shovel engines powered Harleys up until the introduction of the Evolution engine in 1984, ending the reign of the "shovel" as enthusiasts frequently call these engines. The shovel engine does not have covers, per se, but rocker boxes and rocker arms which pivot on shafts. The design provided more than a unique look; it produced 10% more horsepower than the panhead engine which it replaced. From 1966 through 1969 the shovelhead kept the panhead style lower end. These early style shovelheads with the generator bottoms were often referred to as slabside shovels. From 1970 on the shovelheads used an alternator bottom often termed a cone shovel.

You are looking at a 1981 Harley-Davidson FLH 80 Electra Glide Shovelhead. It has 28,417 miles on it and 683 hrs. It is in good shape, it does need a new battery and will need a tune-up, as it has not been ridden (or run) in 3 yrs. It has always been stored indoors. Any questions let me know. Thanks for looking!
