1981 CB900"C"; Possibly the best quality CB900 on the east coast, if not the entire country, The "C" model has the 2-speed transfer case that effectively gives the rider 10 forward speeds, and both front forks and rear shocks are air adjustable. Color is two tone; Candy Muse Red & Brown Metallic. The previous owner bought it in Sept. of 2011 with 10,896 original miles . Since then all systems were gone thru and meticulously disassembled and gaskets, "o" springs and internal parts were replaced where needed.. Fuel was drained and carbs cleaned and "synched" properly. Brake master reservoirs cleaned and rebuilt,,NEW TIREs and BATTERY were purchased..All fluids were replaced. A battery tender pigtail is installed. Rust free gas tank was drained,,Seals were replaced on front forks and rear air shocks were rebuilt. Valves were adjusted . Way too much stuff to list here! The most amazing thing is that there is not one scratch or ding or dent anywhere, All aluminum and cast surfaces have their clear coats,,There is no pitting or rust or oxidation on ANY CHROME OR ALUMINUM! All factory decals are intact with no peeling or fading..All plastic lenses are perfect with no fading or glazing! Also, the bike came with the luggage rack /back-rest combo shown in the photos, as well as a chrome grab bar for the rear passenger. . . This is an unmolested factory original that is effectively in museum quality showroom condition! ..The bike starts and runs reliably . The bike now has 13,535 miles! Both original keys are included,,All fluids were replaced. A Honda original, handle bar mounted windscreen is included as well as a passenger grab bar. A Clymers Shop manual is included as well as both original owner's manuals and the original tire pressure gauge. The luggage rack back /rest combo is very rare and could be sold for $400 to $500 ! Very nice good running bike. Has Vance and Hines exhaust, sounds nice gives it a sporty sound but not obnoxious. Handlebars have been changed to give it better feel. Low miles, tires have very little miles. This bike would be a nice restoration project but is such great shape I've just been riding it and enjoying it's character. You just don't see anyone riding bikes with real character anymore, I get a lot of compliments and turned heads just because of this fact. I'd love to keep it but life has changed and my newborn will take up my time so I've decided to let go of this bike. To be clear this bike is over 30 years old with no restoration, so it has dings and scratches and the typical stator housing scars from tipping on its kick stand. If you want perfect you're gonna have to spend a lot more than what I'm asking. This bike recently emerged from my shop after two years of effort. I am guessing I have something like 200 hours of work into this bike. I also have over $5,000 invested in the bike, parts, paint, carb rebuild and powder coating. No, needless to say this project bike isn't going to make me rich but it did provide me with the opportunity to do something I really enjoy.This bike is a Cafe Racer conversion of a 1981 Honda CB750c. The donor bike had 18,900 miles on it before the project began. It has just over 300 miles put on it since the conversion. The conversion was a full frame off project. Many parts were powder coated along the way...including the frame. I purchased many new parts and custom fabricated others. It runs great and looks even better. Needless to say it came out awesome and gets rave reviews wherever it goes.Note: this was not a down and dirty garage project. It was completed by an motorcycle craftsman in a full blown shop. The paint was applied by a professional paint shop. It is a first class build all the way. The key to making a 30+ year old bike run properly is to have the carbs in tip top condition. If the carbs are dirty and components are worn out there is no way to get a bike to run properly. With that in mind I had Mike Nixon rebuild the carbs at a cost of $500. You can check him and his work out on the web by searching for Mike Nixon Motorcycle Project. He is a guru when it comes to rebuilding CB750c carbs. Note: the odometer currently shows just over 300 miles on it. As part of the build I replaced the old speedometer with a brand new one which is why the total mileage doesn't show on the current odometer. Please contact me with any questions you might have.
