You are looking at an all original unrestored motorcycle that has been in storage for the last 2 years so it is time to let it go. Bike has only 14,490 original miles. I bought the bike in 2006 from the original owner when it had 12,267 miles. Includes second seat that can be put on in place of the rear trunk. Side compartments remove and can be carried like suit cases with the built in handles. It shows very little wear for its age. There are minor scratches on the side luggage, a little surface rust on the chrome, the second seat has a crack on the back of it and there is some rust on the ends of the exhaust. The paint does have a few defects and there is some minor wear on the seats which are clearly shown in the pictures so please look them over carefully. This bike is really well preserved and taken care of and even has the original Silverwing cover. Runs smooth and starts without any problems. If you know anything about Silverwings, the choke has to be used each time you want to start them. Tires are in great shape and I just installed a new battery. Included is a Clymer service manual and a new oil filter. This bike has air ride suspension on the front and the back that can be manually adjusted. Please ask any questions you may have. Nice old GL500 Interstate.  Runs great! New windscreen, foam grips, Kenda tires 3 months ago. Both seats professionally recovered at a upholstery shop a couple of months ago.NOTE: Speedometer broke at 36k miles (as can be seen on my you tube channel ) Speedometer & tachometer replaced with a Trail Tech digital inst. cluster.  Having issues getting the tachometer to read RPM accurately. Has been a project bike, but life changes negate selling the bike. I have $1700 already in this bike. No longer have the time to complete the restoration.  Mechanically solid as a rock!  Onlymechanical need at this point is right front fork seal leaks a little bit. Maybe replace exhaustor paint the exhaust with VHT paint. The MAIN thing this 'ol gal need is a decent proper paint job. Was next on my list to do but as mentioned a major life change has left me with ZERO time to finish the restoration. Top box & rack have been removed but I can reinstall them if you purchase the bike and want them installed.  I liked the looks of it much better with it off of the bike.  Clean clear title in hand! Does NOT have a radio installed. GPS unit shown in pictures notincluded in sales price! Can purchase GPS unit with the bike for $50 (firm!) extra. NADA book value is $1745. Selling for $1400 FIRM! This IS a great price! You will be very hard pressed to find a nicer bike and/or more bike for the money!

Please read fully: 1981 Honda GL500 SilverWing Interstate. Clean cleat title in hand. I purchased this to be a wintertime frame off restoration. I got a new job plus just purchased a house that needs some TLC and I am not going to have the time to restore this bike. The good: New tires front & rear! Have put about 100 miles on them. NEW Slipstreamer windscreen, new front brake master cylinder, rebuilt R.H. front brake caliper (was seeping). New front break pads. Pilot's seat profeshionally recovered and is VERY comfy! Battery is only about 6 months old. New foam grips. New H4 halogen headlight bulb. ALL lights work properly. I installed a new marine grade dual port USB charger neatly installed in front fairing and is activated when the ignition switch is turned on. Bike is licensed & insured and I have put aprox 150 miles on this bike in the last week. Runs smooth as a new one and rides smooth as butter! The bad: 1) Needs front timing cover gasket & seal replaced. It is not so bad that you can not ride the bike for several hundred miles at a time. It just seeps a bit and will leave oil drips on the floor when parked, , , , , much like my Harley did. :-/ I HAVE the gaskets (2 required) and the camshaft seal (part of the timing cover. May not be bad, but while it is off is a perfect time to go ahead and change it too ) and those parts will go with the bike. 2) The paint is fair at best. So, in summary, it is a good running, smoooooth riding, decent looking bike. Just needs a proper restoration ---or-- would make a good bobber project as the front fairing alone brings $300+ on e-bay. CASH OR TRADE ONLY. MUST have clean clear title in hand for your trade in. NO free rides. If you take it out for a test ride, I hold your cash in hand hostage till you bring it back safely. You wreck it, you bought it! Will trade for: GL1200 or a dual sport / Enduro bike. May consider other trades. I have waaaaaayyyyyy too much money invested in this already. My loss is your gain!

Modified 1981 Honda GL500. It was built by the owner before me into a Café Racer. Has a newer digital speedometer with all readings. A custom fiber glass seat and rear cowling. Single rear mono shock. It has purple LED lights under the seat that lights up nicely. Roughly 68K miles on it. Needs some tuning and one fork seal is currently leaking. Really fun to cruise on and gets a lot of looks.

I bought this motorcycle on August 15th of 2015 and it did not run when I bought it but I fixed it up and it ran rough but I've tuned the carburetors and replaced a few parts in them and I have cleaned them two times as well. It still doesn't run great per se but it definitely runs better than when I first got it running. This bike would be great for someone who doesn't mind putting a little work into it to get it running in pristine condition, but it will also make a good Bobber or Café Racer project if you are into that kind of thing. There is some places on this bike that have some rust on them especially the right peg and the front of the left exhaust pipe and there is a little damage on both sides of the rubber on the fairing from the previous owner falling and there is a few blemishes in the paint on the gas tank, and the right side mirror glass is broken but I do have the mirror frame.
