Perfect candidate for a restoration or a survivor as is. Let's start with what the bike needs. It needs a horn switch. The lens on the tach is cracked. The speedometer needle is loose. Not the best paint job or seat cover. Now for the good. The previous owner of this bike owned it for 12 years. He had the motor completely and professionally redone in 2003 by Exoticycle Motor Sports in Sarasota, Florida at a cost of almost $4000. It is built to the hilt and runs super strong, super fast!! The motor has about 10,000 miles on it according to our documentation. Frame has been powder coated. He also added a rack of Mikuni RS-34 radial flat slide carbs at a cost of $900. We have additional receipts of over $600 for brake kits, fork seals, chain and head stem bearings. You can see all these receipts in the DropBox. Don't have a receipt for the 4 into 1 Vance & Hines header but that's what it has. Tires are in great shape. Battery is about 3 months old. Tank has been lined in the past and the liner is in good shape. If you are looking for a mechanically sound and super fast KZ1000 this is it. A paint job, a seat cover, a detail and a few minor repairs listed above and this bike would take this bike to the next level!! And it runs fast fast!! It runs great, shifts great and has no oil leaks. All electricals work as they should except the horns. It does need a horn switch. This is a 1981 Kawasaki KZ1000 with under 2,000 miles on an engine refresh. Machine work was done by Kawasaki Specialists, Cavanaugh Racing in 2011. The following items have been replaced along with the engine refresh:- New Tires- Chain and Sprockets Upgraded- New Clutch- New Pod Air Filters- New Brakes The bike has been sitting for a little over a year, and needs a little bit of TLC to be perfect. I rode the bike for approximately 10 miles today with no issues other than the engine is due for it's first valve adjustment, and the rear brake pedal presses down and slows the bike, but doesn't come back up. Also, the trip meter works accurately, but the speedometer doesn't move. The seat is in like new condition, and has no tears or split seams. The gas tank is very clean inside. The bike shifts through all the gears, and aside from being slightly cold blooded, it runs well and pulls hard when going through the gears. As mentioned above, the engine is due for the first valve adjustment and you can hear valve noise coming from the engine. The mufflers do have some acid staining on them, but they may shine up nice. All of the brake lights and turn signals work as well. I had to charge the battery on 50 amp start, so the condition of the battery at this time is unknown. Up for sale is a 1981 Gpz1100. The motorcycle is in very good condition. The motorcycle now has approximately 16000 miles. I ride it occasionally, once or twice a week. The motorcycle is currently licensed / inspected and I have a clear title in my name. I purchased the motorcycle from the third owner with 13700 miles and it came with the original bill of sale and all records, which will be included. At 14000 miles, I had the motor professionally rebuilt (build sheet will be included). The carburetors are new Mikuni RS38s. The header is a new kerker with a 2” comp baffle (standard street baffle included). I purchased a KZ1000J seat and had it redone with a ELR seat cover. I have the original seat which is included with the bike.
