2017 KTM 250 XC-F, 2017 KTM 250 XC-F SMALL-BORE DOMINATION Already known for its strong performance, the new generation 250 XC-F presents itself with a newly developed, stronger engine built into an all-new chassis. The performance combination of a powerful and much torqueier engine in a lightweight and agile chassis is sure to make the 250 XC-F the star of the show for the future. Features may include: ENGINE The new 250 XC-F engine is based on the similar overall design of its predecessor, with some major refinements to make this power plant more compact and lighter, with the production of improved torque and power across the entire rpm range. Perhaps one of the most impressive benefits of the new design is a weight reduction of 2 lbs, while still including the incredibly beneficial electric starter. The reworked engine guarantees an improved power curve over the entire rev range up to 14,000 rpm, which makes the new 250 XC-F a winner for both amateur and professional riders. CYLINDER HEAD The centerpiece of the compact DOHC (Double Overhead Camshaft) engine is the new cutting-edge cylinder head. It features improved combustion chamber geometry, two 150 g lighter overhead camshafts with new timing, plus a friction-optimized super-fine surface, new finger followers with a 30 % harder DLC coating and a reworked timing drive (friction reduced and shorter DID timing chain, new sprockets and chain guides). New valve springs and retainers for the four lightweight titanium valves (intake 32.5 mm, exhaust 26.5 mm) and high-flow ports create a maximized flow rate for an optimal power band and maximum performance, all the way up to a redline of 14,000 rpm. CYLINDER & PISTON In the reworked and shorter cylinder that has a bore of 78 mm, is a weight-reduced, forged bridged box-type piston made by CP. It features a unique piston shape adapted to the new combustion chamber and stands out with its extra-rigid structure, combined with a low weight. The compression ratio is at 14.4:1. Thanks to the low oscillating masses, the engine offers extremely lively characteristics. COUNTER BALANCER SHAFT In order to balance the mass-forces, the new 250 XC-F engine uses a multifunctional counter balance shaft that also drives the water pump and timing chain. It features new sprockets fitted to the new timing chain. ELECTRIC STARTER The new 250 XC-F is fitted with an electric starter as standard, which a clear advantage in the heat of battle. A new starter motor made by Mitsuba (modified for easy disassembly) and a weight-reduced starter drive guarantees more efficient and reliable starting. ENGINE CASES AND COVER The completely new design of the die-cast engine cases allowed for a much more centralized shaft configuration. The engine is now shorter by 20 mm, contributing to a much more centralized mass. Newly designed engine covers made of ma

For sale is a pretty rare 1981 KTM 250 I have had in the collection. I have decided to part with it because I had a chance to acquire and equally rare 1981 KTM 495. If you are a KTM fan you already know how hard these bikes are to find. It has been a collector/display bike while in my possession. The previous owner had the frame and swing arm powder coated and the motor rebuilt. It has excellent compression. The plastic and decals are new and there is a ne tank skin on this bike as well.\ You will need to go through this bike prior to racing it. The shocks will need fresh oil and a charge, maybe seals but I don't see oil leaking (parts are available through Thor suspension). Forks seem good. Carb will probably need to be gone through and cleaned. I don't recall seeing another one of these models for sale over the past 5 + years. This is a very good core bike and would not take much effort to make it a real show piece. If you have any questions feel free to contact me and I would be happy to answer them. I realize this is quite a bit of money (at least it is for me) so I am ok with taking a two or three part payment as long as it does not stretch beyond 4-8 weeks. (I will be listing some additional motorcycle in the coming weeks. If you are looking for something in particular let me know). Thank you SHIPPING: costs and arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer. I don't mind holding the bike for a while once it is paid for. I realize it takes time to make shipping arrangements and I want to make this a stress free experience for the buyer. I do have a pretty good list of shippers I would be happy to pass on to you. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS - I have several Over sea's Shipping services that I can refer you to that will crate and ship to countries like Australia, New Zealand, UK as well as other country's in Europe if you require those services. PAYMENT: Deposit is nonrefundable. Balance payment is due within 7 days of the auction ending. I will accept the balance of payment in the following ways-Bank transfer, cash in person, Bank of America cashiers check or USPS money orders.

If you are a KTM fan you already know how hard these bikes are to find in good condition This is a great find for a KTM fan. It has been a collector/display bike while in my possession. The previous owner had the frame and swing arm powder coated and the top end done. It has good compression and usually starts on the 1st or 2nd kick and idles as it should. The plastic and decals are new and there is new tank skin on this bike as well. Seat cover I new as well. I started working on the spokes with lace luster and they are looking great. You will need to go through this bike prior to prepare it for trail riding or racing. The shocks will need fresh oil and a charge, maybe seals but I don't see oil leaking (parts are available through Thor suspension). Forks seem good and there are no leaks. I just went through the carb this past weekend and thoroughly cleaned and rebuilt it (Parts for the Bing carb are available through the Bing Agency, US). I don't recall seeing another one of these models for sale over the past 5 + years. This is a very good core bike and would not take much effort to make it a real show piece. I am putting my 1981 KTM GS420 project bike up for sale. I have collected many project bikes over the years and gradually turned them into rider or collector level restorations. I have been in the process of selling off my project bikes because I am no longer physically able to do these restorations. If you are a KTM fan and have been looking for one of these you already know how hard they are to find. I purchased the bike as you see it as a roller. I mounted the plastic so you can get a general idea what the bike would look like. Make no mistake this is a restoration project for the mechanically inclined. This model is worth going all the way with because it is very rare.It took me over 5 years to find one. I will go into as much detail as I can below. If you have additional questions please feel free to contact me. I would be happy to answer any that you may have. Bike info: Motor - I was told by the previous owner that they top end siezed. The bottom end seems to be in good condition. It shifts and the crank spins freely. The cylinder lining seems to be ok and measures 82mm. Its safe to assume it will need a fresh bore. As you can see in the pictures a few of the cyl fin ends are broken off and ther is one small piec of the fin on the head broken off. Eay repair for any Tig welder and grind down the weld to the desired finish. Kicker and shifter intact. Suspension - looks like stock Marzochi 38mm forks which will need rebuild. Shocks ar Fox piggyback shocks. The shafts are in very good shape but I am sure they will need a rebuild. These are top of the line shocks. Wheels - rims are stock Sun rims and they are in excellent condition. Spokes are just ok. tires need to be replaced. Body work - the tank is fine whith no cracks ( I scraped a little of the old plastic off the bottom right side so you could see the potential. Still has leather enduro pouch intact. Rest of plastic is crap. If you are restoring as a rider you could sand, prime and paint. Rear fender will need to be replaced and DC Plastics sells them. I would also replace the front headlight plastic. DC Plastics sells that as well. Controls - I would replace all cables but you may be able to salvage the speedo cable. Wiring harness is intact and under the seat and frame. Speedometor is in the box along with the coail, Bing carb and new air box boot. Frame - frame looks good and I do not see any repairs on it. Paint is ok for a rider otherwise you may want to blast and powder coat. Still has the very hard to find two sided kick stand. Seat - pan is in very nice condition, seat foam is good. There is a rip in the seat cover which has electrical tap over it. Could be stitched and filled in if using for a rider. If you want a new cover you can get them at DC Plastics. Pipe is stock and needs to be sanded and painted. Its in pretty good shape but does have a few small dents. Silencer is stock and in nice shape which is a big deal because they are impossible to find. SHIPPING: costs and arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer. I dont mind holding the bike for a while once it is paid for. PAYMENT: A nonrefundable deposit of 200.00 is due within 48 hrs of the auction ending. Balance payment is due within 7 days of the auction ending. I will accept the balance of payment in the following ways-Bank transfer, cash in person, Bank of America cashiers check or USPS money orders.

This is a nearly complete (missing clutch cover and silencer) and very rare 1979 KTM 420 project bike. It will require a total cosmetic and mechanical rebuild. If you are mechanically inclined and a vintage KTM fan this could be a good winter project for you.I have owned several vintage KTM' and the 79 KTM 420 is one of my favorites net to the 1981 KTM 495. I am selling off some of my vintage KTM's and this is a project I will never get to. You can get all the parts (pistons, bearings, sleeves, seals, etc from Enduroklassiker). With the right amount of time and effort it can be brought back to its original glory. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I will add more pictures in the next day or two. I do have some very good shippers I could refer.

I am in the process of selling off some KTM' I have collected over the years. This is one that I believe to be a 1979 KTM 420 (if you know differently please let me know). The bike has been in storage for the last 3 years. The individual I purchased it from said that it ran at some point. I have not attempted to start it so for the purpose of this auction lets assume the motor will need to be rebuilt. The motor has compression and turns over. I did notice a wire or two hanging down from under the tank which I think may have been for the kill switch. If you are a KTM fan you know how difficult it is to find the 420's in decent shape. It i probably one of the most popular KTM's net to the 1981 KTM495. The is a good core bike to start with. I will go into some detail below. Frame # - I can not find a number stamped on the frame neckMotor # - 9 - 5600165 Body - plastic seems to be all new except for the tank which is painted (decent paint work). I don't believe this a 1979 tank. Looks like a 1980-81 tank.Frame has also been painted and seems to be close to the original color. I think the seat is original and there is a small tear on the side.Wheels - Sun rims look pretty good and are stamped - 3 /79. I worked on a few spokes and they should clean up nicely. New tires.Exhaust - Pipe has had repairs and the silencer is missing.Shock are new (progressive's)SHIPPING: costs and arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer. I don't mind holding the bike for a while once it is paid for. I realize it takes time to make shipping arrangements and I want to make this a stress free experience for the buyer. The Vespa P-series was the last of the "classic" Vespas to come out of Piaggio's factories. Though many of the brand new scooters reaching American shores have a "Vespa" badge, they are cut from a different cloth entirely. Though certainly not the most elegant styling exercise, the P-series Vespas are probably the sturdiest models, and certainly the most commonly encountered Vespa in the U.S. today. In the mid-1970's the basic Vespa design had been refined almost as far as it was able to go. However, changing consumer tastes, and new technologies, coupled with tightened regulations, meant that Piaggio realized that it was time to totally re-design the Vespa chassis. The result of that total re-design, was the P-series Vespa. The P-series scooters consisted of three models, the P125X, P150X, and P200E when it debuted in 1977. The only difference between the models was in the size of the motors that were installed. The frames on all three were identical. The P series Vespas are the most easily found Vespa in the U.S., and they are without a doubt, the most practical to own. They have the fastest and most refined motors of any of the Vespas. They are also the most comfortable to ride. For all of the above reasons, the P series scooters make a perfect introduction to the classic scooter world. All of them can keep pace with modern traffic, and with their 12 volt electrical system, and functional turn signals, make very sensible commuters. This specimen has only just over 800 original miles on it and starts and runs like it was new. And it comes complete with the original paperwork and manuals!!
