PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: THIS BIKE IS IN NEED OF SOME REPAIRS, SOLD 'AS IS'!! BIKE STARTS UP AND CAN BE RIDDEN BUT NEEDS REPAIRS TO MAKE IT ROADWORTHY!! I have for sale a 1982 Honda Silverwing Interstate GL500, Moto Guzzi engine. Bike is in fair to good condition with 19,754 ( has been test driven since, maybe 10 miles more)original miles on it. This seems to be a fair to slightly low average mileage, judging by other bikes for sale. Bike has clear title.I have owned it for about 7 years. It has the Large rear truck/Back rest and also has Passenger Seat. Three removable compartments for trips. Has a new battery. The bike engine starts up but runs a little rough. Shifts smoothly. There is a small oil leak . Radio and all lights work. Tires are okay for several hundred miles more. It has not been ridden for over 6 months. A mechanic has recommended the following repairs/upkeep: Cleaning the gas tank and carburetor, new gasket for oil leak. I do ask: If possible prospective buyers must come to see and drive the bike in person or send a friend or agent. ALL REASONABLE OFFERS WILL BE CONSIDERED!!. This is a 30 year old bike. It has several scuffs and scratches here and there. It has a little damage on the fairing edge. There are no dents and basically the engine is sound. I also have an Owners Service Manual that goes with the bike and a helmet that matches the bike color. If fixed up, you would have a super bike, worth a lot more. The Kelley Blue Book on this bike in very good condition is $1575.00. For the price, even in it's present condition, it is a great touring bike. I'm selling because I have wrist problems and shouldn't ride anymore (sob!). Thanks for looking.

BIKE SOLD AS IS!!!! Pleases review all information very carefully and ask any questions you may have.I have for sale a 1982 Honda Silverwing Interstate GL500. Bike is in good condition with 19,754 original miles on it. This seems to be a fairly average mileage, judging by other bikes for sale. Bike has clear title.I have owned it for about 8 years. It has the Large rear truck/Back rest and also has Passenger Seat. Has a new battery. Bike starts right up every time and runs perfectly. Shifts very smooth. Doesn't smoke or use any oil. No leaks . Radio, and all lights work. Tires are okay for several hundred miles more. I do urge prospective buyers to see and drive the bike in person if possible. ALL REASONABLE OFFERS WILL BE CONSIDERED!!. This is a 30 year old bike. It has several scuffs and scratches here and there. It has some damage on the front right on the fairing( see last pic-splashes of water visible from cleaning). A small tear - about 1 1/2" - along the seat seam. There are no dents and, most importantly the engine is sound. I also have an Owners Service Manual that goes with the bike and matching mans helmet. If the cosmetic problems were fixed you would have a super bike, worth a lot more. For the price, even in it's present condition, it is a great touring bike. 1982 Honda GL500 Interstate Silverwing in great shape. Fall riding weather is here, and I cannot think of a nicer way to cruise the back-roads than with this sweet bike. I brought this bike unsure if I would keep it or make some repairs and flip it. Under other circumstances, I would not part with it, as I like it that much. It's light enough to be nimble around town, yet has the stones for the open road with hard bags full of gear. It needs nothing and is ready to ride as-is. The left fork seal is just starting to seep (fairly normal given the age). I have a set of seals and may put them in if time permits (price will adjust accordingly). Here are some specifics: -2 cylinder -500cc -5 speed -shaft drive (smooth and reliable) -liquid cooled -full hard bags and trunk (hard bags detach very easily) -new rear tire, front is 50% -fresh oil and filter change -nearly new front brakes -new windshield -comes with Clymer manual and cover -Clear title in hand Price is $1800 cash, negotiable.
