1983 HARLEY DAVIDSON FLHT ELECTRA GLIDE This is the last year for the Shovelhead. It is a chain drive 5 speed transmission. The color is a candy red metallic. The overall condition is very good considering its age. There are no major flaws with the paint or chrome as it all shines. There are several chips on various body parts but nothing excessive or extensive. I would call normal wear and tear. It has been repainted and has custom pin-striping. The motor has been painted as well. The overall presentation is very sharp. The seat has no tears or rips. The fairing does have several gauges (fuel,battery,oil pressure and cylinder head temp) and a stereo. They stereo works and is bluetooth capable. All the gauges work properly. All the lights work properly. I safety check and detail every bike I sell. This bike has a new battery and new brakes. The tires are in very good shape with about 65% tread left. The bike has aftermarket mufflers and a S&S Super E with accelerator pump and thunder jet. 1983 Harley Davidson FLHT, Great Running Old Shovel Head!!!Here is a blast from the past!! Fresh out of Grampa's barn!! This Shovel Head runs and rides great. It has a S&S Super "E" carb. on it. Enclosed chain drive, 5 Speed transmission. The odometer shows 4782, so I'm guessing that it has 104,782 miles on it.It has the Harley Accy. gauge cluster/Radio caddy in the fairing, a cool option. By looking at the engine, it is obvious to me that it has been apart not to long ago, I do not have any proof, or paper work on it, but being a Shovel head owner myself, I can tell you that this bike runs very well, no smoking or odd sounds. Museum Quality 1983 Harley Davidson FLHTP Shovelhead Police Bike with 4,969 Original miles. 80 Cubic Inch Engine, 5 Speed Transmission with Enclosed rear chain. I will also include the original Harley Davidson Police Brochure for this Model with the sale. Bike is in unbelievable condition for it's age. Please view pictures closely and be prepared to be stunned. Only 341 FLHTP Police Bikes were produced in 1983. More pictures available for serious inquiries. (Please no picture collectors) I am the second owner and have owned it for many years. I am not just some bike flipper (hustling bikes for a buck with no knowledge about the bike or it's true history) or a bike butcher (Tearing down complete and running bikes selling off each piece trying to make two more dollars) Bike has been kept in a climate controlled environment since new and has only been washed a few times. It is in that good of condition. It was not just cleaned and detailed for the pictures. I have spent more money on electric running a dehumidifier in the room it has been stored in than what I am asking for it. The only parts that I have changed are the battery, tires, petcock, air cleaner, rear shocks and clutch assembly. The original battery was changed due to age and now has a new sealed Battery. The original tires were changed due to age and now has new Dunlop Tires. The petcock was changed due to old gas and now has a new Pingel Petcock and Fuel Filter. The air cleaner was upgraded to a better flowing unit with a K&N Air Filter. The rear shocks were upgraded to new Air Shocks. The clutch was upgraded to a Rivera style Pro Clutch. I have the original air cleaner, clutch and rear shocks that were removed. I also have the original matching Tour Pack available if interested. This bike is in excellent running condition and is ready to ride. I had it out the other day and it runs flawlessly. It rides like a dream. It looks, rides and even still smells new. Clean and Clear title and keys in hand. This bike is worth every penny I am asking for it and this is no estate or shop closing sale. Please do not contact me with lowball offers.
