1983 Honda CR250R – race ready! This CR250 was built for one purpose, to race AHRMA nationals. Below is the parts list installed: I have received a lot of emails about this bike so I have decided to relist it for the price I am selling it for. Please understand that this price does not reflect what I have in this bike (I have over $5700.00 in it just in parts). Nor does this price reflect the time and labor of tearing it down and putting it back together. This is not a bike that has been raced for a couple of seasons with a lot of trick parts on it, it was rebuilt from the ground up and has NOT seen any track time!I cannot take less than the price offered here as I have already absorbed $1500.00 and have not even had the bike on a track (only motor time on the bike has been for jetting). Unless you own a company and buy parts wholesale (which I don't), there is not way this bike can be built for what I am selling it for. I have a passion for excellence and only the best and that is why I build these bikes, but at this point I am going to be getting out of the business as I cannot build bike that I am losing money on. If you were going to build a modern 450SX, by the time you are done with the suspension and cost of the bike you will be out around 10K. In short, it cost money to build a race ready bike, but if you have ever ridden one, then you know they are worth the money spent on them and this one will cost you a lot less than what it cost me to build it. I have also added a video. - Motor Billet over sized radiators VI handmade cone exhaust VI alloy silencer 36mm Mikuni TMX flatside carb Ported cylinder/shaved head – by Steve Benolkin Billet intake Rebuilt lower end with hot rods Crank – Hi Tech racing Rebuilt water pump Hi temp blue radiator hose - Suspension Forks Race Tech built forks to include gold valves, springs for 175lbs rider Forks hard anodized Shock Race Tech built shock to include Gold valving, spring for 175lbs rider Shock hard anodized - Safety featuresVMX wide footpegsRenthal fat bars (tall bend)Pro Tamper fat bar mounts- MiscFrame power coatedScott grips/donuts Owner remarks The bike is jetted pretty crisp, but please keep in mind that the motor is not broken in yet. I used the cheaper DC plastic instead of the expense VMX stuff because I built this bike with every intention of racing it and did not want to trash $500.00 in plastic. Once of the biggest mistakes I see made in the vintage community is that a lot of riders will add heaver fork springs and adjust the rear shock without realizing that these bikes were set up for riders weighing about 160lbs back in the day. Then when you consider these bikes were not set up for modern mx tracks, you end up with a bike that is under sprung and valved completely wrong. If you have never ridden a vintage bike with the suspension set up correctly, then you need to because once you have you’ll never go back to your old ways. Having your suspension set up like this is just that GOOD. This is the most sought after Ultima 250 and the price is well below what is in the bike. The reserve is just a little over what a clean stock 83 sells for with new plastic and other cosmetic changes. Please shop and look at other 83’s, such as those sold by vintage resellers such as east coast vintage mx (which they sell clean bikes), but you will be hard pressed to find another at this price this race ready. The reserve while fair is what it is as taking anything less, I would be giving the bike away and that’s not going to happen (but nor is the reserve overpriced). Bike comes with a bill of sale. Please call me if you have any question at (703) 961-1453, thanks for looking Mike On Sep-07-14 at 15:31:26 PDT, seller added the following information: Quick update, someone interested in the bike had thought it had been previously listed on Ebay and it has not (this is the first time). Also, this bike was a ground up restoration. The only time on the bike was for jetting purposes so the bike will have to be broken in. I have also attached some additional photos of the build and one of the photos is of the bike right after I purchased it. As you can see the bike was pretty clean to start with (not all roached out). Good luck, Mike

I have for sale a 1984 Honda CR250R motocross bike for sale. I have done a lot of work to get the bike to the stage it is now, but due to funds I cannot finish everything. Here is a list of the things that I have done to it so far: -Rebuilt the engine: -New piston, rings, wrist pin, top end bearing. -New Athena gasket kit (MLS head gasket) -New seals -New bearings through out the entire motor. -New HotRod rod assembly -New water pump seal (mechanical type) (the water pump housing has very little pitting, which is unusual for this model) -Sand blasted and powder coated the entire motor (to my liking and not the factory colors)(the words HONDA and ATAC are powder coat and not paint) -Chassis: -New Fly aluminum bars -New Scott grips -New chain and sprockets -New seat cover -New maier Side panels in the rear -New Moose air filter -Powder coated frame (closest I could get to the honda flash red) -Powder coated foot pegs -Powder coated upper clamp -Powder coated rear spring to blend motor with frame (two colors merge) -New front number plate I have put a lot of time and money into this bike and it looks very nice. However there are things that I would still like to do to it to make it better, but neither time or money will allow. Some of the things that could still be addressed, but do not affect functionality are: -Rear chain splash guard has a piece missing. -Chain rollers would look better if it had new ones. -Polish the plastics to more look like new. The radiator shrouds, front fender, rear fender are all originals. -Change fork seals, for piece of mind -Get fork protectors -matching fuel line -original decals -Model ID tag I have gotten the bike to the condition it is now, as seen in the pictures and that is how it sits as of this listing. I have started the bike and it runs great. After warm up I have ridden it down the street and back one time. Total run time of 5 min or so on the bike since all the work that was mentioned above. I have way to much of my time and money invested into this to complete everything that I want. I have to many projects so I'm letting this one go. This bike will be sold with a bill of sale, because my state doesn't title off road bikes older than 1987. I prefer local pick-up. I will ship international, but I require $500 on top of the selling price and shipping cost. Like I said, this bike is very nice as it sits, but for those of you out there that will disagree, please keep you comments to yourself. Thanks This bike is sold AS-IS and all sales are final so read all the info in the listing and if you have questions just ask. I have for sale a 1984 Honda CR250R motocross bike. (pictures are of actual bike for sale in this listing) I bought this bike from the original owner who had taken it apart to fix it and lost interest. He then stored it for the last 25 years before I got it. I have done a lot of work to get this CR250 to the stage it is now. Here is a list of the things that I have done to it so far: -Rebuilt the engine: -New piston, rings, wrist pin, top end bearing. -New Athena gasket kit (MLS head gasket) -New seals -New bearings through out the entire motor. -New HotRod rod assembly -New water pump seal (mechanical type) (the water pump housing has very little pitting, which is unusual for this model) -Sand blasted and powder coated the entire motor (to my liking and not the factory colors)(the words HONDA and ATAC are powder coat and not paint) -Chassis: -New Fly aluminum bars -New Scott grips -New chain and sprockets -New seat cover -New maier Side panels in the rear -New Moose air filter -Powder coated frame (closest I could get to the Honda flash red) matches the cylinder head -Frame under motor has one small ding, but it was small enough that I didn't even notice it until just before powder coating. -Powder coated sub-frame that matches the cylinder -Powder coated foot pegs (gloss black) -Powder coated upper clamp (silver vein) -Powder coated rear spring to blend motor with frame (two colors merge)(silver vein and flash red) -New front number plate -Both tires have great tread approx. 85% tread left with no cracking. They are older vintage tires * I have the front plastic fork guards with disc protector, but they are not on the bike yet, but will be included. I have put a lot of time and money into this bike and it looks very nice. However there are things that I would still like to do to it to make it better, but neither time or money will allow. If this bike doesn't sell i will just hang onto it and slowly finish it as time and money allow, but it is currently about 97% done. Some of the things that could still be addressed are: -Rear chain splash guard has a piece missing (works fine but would look better with a new one) -Chain rollers would look better if it had new ones (they currently work fine) -Polish the plastics to more look like new (The radiator shrouds, front fender, rear fender are all originals) -Change fork seals, for piece of mind because they are the originals -Get fork protectors installed -original decals with vintage stickers removed -Model ID tag I have gotten the bike to the condition it is now, as seen in the pictures and that is how it sits as of this listing. I have started the bike and it runs great. After warm up I have ridden it down the street and back one time. Total run time of 5 min or so on the bike since all the work that was mentioned above. I have way to much of my time and money invested into this to complete everything that I want. I have to many projects so I'm letting this one go, but if it doesn't I will just finish it as time and money will allow. This bike will be sold with a bill of sale, because my state doesn't title off road bikes older than 1987. I prefer local pick-up. I will ship international, but I require $500 on top of the selling price and shipping cost. If bike sells for my asking price, I will get the fork seals replaced, along with getting new chain rollers, and chain splash guard. TRADES: -If you have a CRF450, banshee, trx450 or Sport quad that you would like to use as partial payment, send me a few nice pictures and I will let you know if I'm interested. I have tried to described this bike as accurately as possible. This bike is very nice as it sits, but for those of you out there that will disagree, please keep your comments to yourself. Thanks *Note, the bike can currently be ridden as it sits. Everything mentioned is just what I would like to do to make it look better. This bike is sold AS-IS and all sales are final so read all the info in the listing and if you have questions just ask. I can be reached at 435-232-o49eight I would prefer local pickup, but I'm not opposed to shipping as long as I have cleared payment before I ship. Buyer responsible for all shipping costs. 1983 Honda CR480R – race ready! This CR480R was built for one purpose, to race AHRMA nationals. Below is the parts list installed: This 1983 Honda CR480 is a frame up restoration with only jetting time on the bike. There is over 8K in parts alone so the buy it now is best I can do having not spent any track time on this bike. This is an AHRMA national level purpose built race bike. This bike cannot be built for the price I am selling it for (even if you only considered the cost of the parts). I have heard the horror stories of 82 motors in 83 frames and I have seen buys riding these bikes at the track with stock suspension (if you are not going to get the suspension done then you are purposely beating your body up for no reason). The suspension on this bike has to be addressed and when you do, it will put a smile on your face. I also have an 83 Honda CR250R for sale on ebay as well. There is a YOUTUBE video at the below link: http://youtu.be/0jL_O5cgCHI Engine Cylinder overboard (over 500cc) Decompressor for starts (start as easy as a 125 – see photo) 38mm Mikuni TMX flatside carb (AHRMA legal) 8 petal Mossbarger Reed cage DG pipe Custom one-off carbon fiber silencer (owner) Uni Air filter RK gold chain Correct serial number on the motor Complete motor rebuild/engine painting Stainless bolts Chassis/suspension 43mm forks rebuilt by Race Tech (hard anodized tubes, gold values, heavy springs for 180lbs rider) Race Tech G3 Series shock with remote reservoir (180lbs rider) Pro tamper fat bars VMX wide footpegs Gold Sun rims (19” rear) Arched brakes (front and rear by Race Tech) – Better stopping power Buchanan heavy duty spokes VMX plastic Powdercoated frame with original serial number on the frame I will do a video in a day or so showing you how easy it is to start as I know this is one thing that runs people away from big bores, but this one is truly seamless to start.
