Thanks for checking out my wonderful 1984 Yamaha IT490. I love this bike but I am not going to use it the way it needs to be ridden. So far I have ridden it up and down my alley and out in a nearby field. With some creativity one could probably get this registered for the street. It is not street legal and on the New Mexico title it is stamped Off Highway. Please don't make an offer unless you plan to follow through. This bike runs very well. I have had it on the trails and on the road behind my place. It is EXTREMELY powerful and fast. I am the second owner of this bike and I have the papers from the dealer when it was sold. It was not used very much. Cosmetically this bike is a 30 year old time capsule. The plastic is in great shape as are the wheels. I believe the gas tank has been replaced at some point I have shown a close up of the cylinder head that has a small amount of oil on it. I don't believe it has ever been apart and may need a gasket. The odometer is resetable so there is no accurate measure of the mileage. The tires are original and show medium wear. The brakes work well. The lights are not working but i have not investigated. I believe when the bike is running they are on. No switch. The previous owner told me the flywheel has been lightened (photo showing side cover with thicker gasket). It is a great bike, starts easily and goes fast. I generally choke it to start. This bike is not for beginners. I have a clear NM title in my name.
