Bought both of this bikes with many extra parts from the previous owner who was going to restore it but lost interest. Had both bike running briefly in the shop, but never put fuel in the tanks or rode it. Transmission static shift through the gears. Has strong spark and great compression. Frame appears straight as well as the wheels. The 1984 is the one with the yellow fork gators and has a clear title. All new plastics. Tank was repainted by the previous owner. New decals. Previous owner stated that he touched up small areas on the frame and covers, but was a clean bike to begin with. Has a DG pipe and silencer. Buyer to pay and arrange for shipping. The bike is also for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.There is no title/MSO for the bike. eBay forces you to enter something in this field, so I put "Clear". To be perfectly clear, there is no title and it is not street legal. I will provide a printed and signed bill of sale with the VIN number on it.This bike was completely stripped down to the frame and everything was rebuilt/restored. No expense was spared. Complete top & bottom end rebuild, crank was balanced, cylinder bored to the 1st oversize, Wiseco piston & rings installed. The cylinder head was treated to the "Eric Gorr mod" (the squish band angle was corrected, the head was decked, and a manual decompression valve was machined in to the head for easy starting. It also has a DG pipe and silencer, Boyesen reeds, IMS shifter, new clutch, etc etc. The bike has more than enough power for even the most experienced rider. Tons of compression and runs best on VP110 racing fuel and Bel-Ray H1-R synthetic premix at 40:1. The shock and forks were also rebuilt and set up for a 200-220 lb rider. The bike is so smooth through even the roughest terrain. Pro Taper bars, Acerbis hand guards, Scott grips, RK chain and JT sprockets, new grooved brake shoes front and rear, new decals added. The lights and odometer work, the tool bag has the full compliment of OEM tools. The bike has 8 hours of total run time on it. About 1 hour of break in time and approximately 7 hours of ride time. This is a very rare bike and it's ready to ride. Needs absolutely nothing. $2400 is the asking price. Cash is king, absolutely no test rides unless you put the full cash amount in my hand first. $250 Deposit through pay pal is required within 24 hours of the end of the auction. Thanks for checking out my wonderful 1984 Yamaha IT490. I love this bike but I am not going to use it the way it needs to be ridden. So far I have ridden it up and down my alley and out in a nearby field. With some creativity one could probably get this registered for the street. It is not street legal and on the New Mexico title it is stamped Off Highway. Please don't make an offer unless you plan to follow through. This bike runs very well. I have had it on the trails and on the road behind my place. It is EXTREMELY powerful and fast. I am the second owner of this bike and I have the papers from the dealer when it was sold. It was not used very much. Cosmetically this bike is a 30 year old time capsule. The plastic is in great shape as are the wheels. I believe the gas tank has been replaced at some point I have shown a close up of the cylinder head that has a small amount of oil on it. I don't believe it has ever been apart and may need a gasket. The odometer is resetable so there is no accurate measure of the mileage. The tires are original and show medium wear. The brakes work well. The lights are not working but i have not investigated. I believe when the bike is running they are on. No switch. The previous owner told me the flywheel has been lightened (photo showing side cover with thicker gasket). It is a great bike, starts easily and goes fast. I generally choke it to start. This bike is not for beginners. I have a clear NM title in my name. 1984 yamaha yz490 new weisco piston,new gaskets,new reeds,new chain and sprockets,new pwk 39mm carb,new tubes,new tires,new cables,new oem connecting rod,new bearings,new throttle,new plug,new filter,Kessler did the suspension,runs on 110. Just rebuilt the whole bike Top end doesn't even have an hour on it carb still need to be tuned. I hurt my knee and it hurts me to start it so it sits in my garage.I was gonna powder coat it this winter and buy a new set of plastics and it would be a beautiful after that. 1984 Yamaha YZ490. Last year of drum brakes and AHRMA legal for pre disc brake class. White tank and plastic like Euro models. Bought 12 years ago, got the tank from an 85 model, put new fenders (OEM Yamaha) and aftermarket side panels. Got new fork boots and Rental bars. DG pipe and silencer. I started it and rode for a few minutes then drained the gas and stored it until today. Real rim has a flat spot, including an extra, correct, Z spoke wheel with the bike. The seat cover was replaced, good foam. The tires will need to be changed. No idea of milage. NO TITLE, not required on Arizona dirt bikes of this era.
