Super Clean time capsule. Shes been resting since 2004. I installed a new battery put some gas in the tank and she fired right up. Idles and rides smoothly with no funny noises. No leaks or smoke. Tires were new in 2004 and there is no dry rot or cracking. Everything works! Even the fork seals are still good! Tank is all shiny inside with no rust whatsoever. The bike is in phenomenal shape for its age but not perfect. The tank has a shallow dent on the right that is hardly noticeable (pictured). There are also some minor flaws in the paint but nothing that stands out. Fork brace has a crack in it (pictured) and probably should be replaced. It does appear that the bike was probably laid down in a very slow turn as there some rash on the brake lever, foot peg, master cylinder, and mirror. No other rash or damage observed. Since its been sitting, it would be a very good idea to change the fluids and maybe, just maybe, clean the carbs. I gave it a good bath and did some detail work to it and with a finer detail it will be hard to find this bike in this clean of shape. There is also some road muck on one of the header pipes that comes off with a fingernail (pictured). I couldnt find anything on the shelf to get it off at this particular time. Ok, here is the kicker.... This is a California bike with a clean California title but has $616.00 in registration penalties. Out of state buyers encouraged obviously because of this.
