This clearly illustrates KTM's "ready to race" philosophy having been developed in Grand Prix racing for only one year, the factory technology of the new bike is already made available to customers.The positioning of the crankshaft axle in relation to the vehicle's center of gravity has been shifted in order to improve handling. The cylinder angle has also been modified so that the cylinder is now positioned almost vertically to the bike's longitudinal axis, again another subtle handling improvement. This also makes engine dimensions more compact and the frame shorter. By rigorously cutting the weight of engine components, we created the probably lightest and most compact engine in its class. For MY 2016 the 250 XC features detail improvements and new colors and graphics, but basically retains the same chassis and engine specification as MY 2015. Features May Include: ENGINE The powerful KTM 250 XC engine unites an unbeatable power-to-weight ratio with outstanding performance and extremely easy handling. CLUTCH The KTM DDS (Damped Diaphragm Steel) clutch is fitted with a diaphragm spring, which allows implementation of an internal rubber damping system. Together with a lightweight steel basket and the Brembo hydraulic system the DDS clutch offers maximum reliability, excellent modulation and light lever pull. CYLINDER The cylinder of the 250 XC is fitted with a sophisticated TVC (Twin Valve Control) power valve, providing adjustable power characteristics.
