The Ducati 999 Superbike seems to be in motion even when at rest. And a look under its fairing confirms the 999's state-of-the art technology. Our goal was to create a Ducati Superbike of stunning design that improves rider ergonomics, makes maintenance easier, reduces complexity of the motorcycle and offers performance second to none. The aerodynamics, mechanical and electronic components, chassis and running gear were developed first and styling followed. The 999 Testastretta engine, developed on the racetrack, has a short stroke which lowers the average speed of the piston resulting in a higher rpm redline, maximum performance, and improved reliability. The linear and tractable power delivery of the Testastretta engine is a result of its balance between horsepower (124 HP @ 9500 rpm) and torque (102 Nm @ 8000 rpm). But its record speaks for itself. In just it's first year of competition, the Ducati 999 has dominated its rivals in the World Superbike Competition, capturing both the manufacturer's and Rider's titles.

2004 DUCATI 999 ***NOTE THIS IS A 999 MONOPOSTO. NOT A 999-R *** What you are looking at is a very clean example of Ducati?s World Championship winning Superbike, the 999. This version of the 999 design was only available for two year and was well ahead of its time. Equipped with high spec suspension, steering damper, and Brembo brakes, this thoroughbred will not disappoint. The heart of the beast is Ducati?s trade mark 998cc L-Twin with Desmodromic valve system. The previous owner is Ducatisti (Ducati Fan) and has taken very good care of this ride, the only addition of an HID lighting system. Please pay us a visit and check out this beautiful motorcycle.

THE BEST V-TWIN ON THE PLANET Every year, Ducati satisfies the most demanding enthusiasts by producing a limited number of its most advanced, pure performance super-sports bike for the road: the 999R. Each and every one of these Superbikes, strictly available in single-seat versions, is a descendant of the glorious Ducati sporting tradition and represents the latest generation of a motorcycle that has dominated the World Superbike Championships for more than ten years. The 150 horsepower at 9,750 rpm produced from the famously smooth Borgo Panigale twin-cylinder engine, is the most power ever to appear in the legendary Ducati trellis frame. The large bore (104 millimeter) enables high revs as well as the use of larger-diameter valves to let the engine breathe freely. The main differences with respect to the other 999 models is found in the top end of the powerhouse where more extreme cam-timing guarantees top-notch performance, while the oversized titanium valves with reduced diameter stems work on bronze seats to ensure greater reliability. But that is not all. The 999R also has titanium valve collets, 12-hole racing injectors, magnesium head covers, carbon covers for the timing belts with a built-in ventilation system and carbon heat shield for the silencer. Everything has been designed as if this were an actual racing bike to offer exceptionally low weight and high performance without compromising reliability. The feathery overall weight of the 999R has been achieved by the use of several parts in magnesium, including the front headlight support and rear view mirror supports. The sculpted carbon fiber fairing has been shaped as a result of strict aerodynamic tests, carried out by applying the experience gained from hundreds of races all over the world. The tall Plexiglas nose fairing, identical to that used in competition, provides protection even at top speed. The seat features a high grip covering that enhances rider feel of the bike for improved control. Every single 999R is “signed” with a numbered silver plate on the top yoke, as well as a badge of authenticity supplied with the bike, both adding an extra touch of exclusivity to one of the most prestigious motorcycles currently available in the world.

2004 Ducati 999S Monoposto w/ upgrades. JUST IN TIME FOR THAT CHRISTMAS GIFT TO YOURSELF!Of all of the sportbikes I've had and ridden, on road or track, none handles with the confidence inspiring aplomb of this 999S. Compared to the bucking bronco nature of my 1098S this bike is like riding the couch...so smooth it feels as if it on rails, almost impossible to upset. Great front end feedback with strong, linear torque pulling out of the curves, it will have you pushing it more than most anything else you've ridden, too. I first rode a 999 demo bike at a track day on MSR Cresson and fell in love with the Ducati chassis feel and rheostatic torque, but wasn't enamored with the `new' look and didn't get one. Years passed and I got older, didn’t have to have more HP than the next guy, just wanted to corner faster and brake harder. I grew to appreciate the looks of the 999 more and ran across a beautiful sample that I bought. No matter your take on the exterior it has possibly the best looking cockpit on the planet. Besides the normal Ohlins Suspension upgrades from the base 999 this bike has:Full Termi Exhaust System with recently replaced muffler can and heat shield, 999R lightweight Swing Arm, Motoholders Aluminum Subframe (lighter & stronger than stock), Brembo Radial Brake Master Cylinder & Clutch Master Cylinder w/ hinged levers, new Pirelli SuperCorsa tires, recent cam-belt replacement, 12:00 Labs Speedo Calibrator, Carbon Fiber Hugger Fender, intake duct Covers and Heel Guards, aftermarket clutch basket / cover and finally an installed Trickle Charger Cable. It has enough subtle goodies to make it special and unique but not flashy. I much prefer understated appeal and performance than `in your face` styling. One of the best sounding bikes extant unless you prefer a 4 cylinder scream over a throaty growl. In my mind this is nicer on the ears of the people you pass; they'll tend to nod in silent approval instead of reach for their cell phones. I also have a spare right side fairing set, because over time the one on the bike has just started to develop a vibration crack in a corner of the plastic. This bike has 26,000 miles on it. It’s ridden regularly so it’s no polished garage queen, but it still looks superb and has very few cosmetic flaws, none major. Mature owner that knows how to take care of his mechanical toys, you will not be disappointed with this machine. Priced to sell at under 6,000, this is a timeless beauty with more performance capability that 99% of even very experienced riders can utilize.

I was riding an MV Agusta F4 for a couple of years and thrilled with the HP and sexy looks, but grew terminally tired of the notchy on/off throttle action near idle. It made rolling back into the gas leaned over hard into an apex approach a bit more...adrenalizing than necessary. I first rode a 999 demo bike at a track day on MSR Cresson and fell in love with the Ducati chassis feel and rheostatic torque, just didn't like the new aesthestics, so I waited until the 1098 came out, sold the Agusta and bought one. Faster than a 999 in a drag race but such a handful to ride hard on the track, it is one of those bikes that feels like it is constantly trying to throw you off when ridden hard. I kept going back to how much I loved the feel of the `ugly’ 999 that day. Years passed, got older, didn’t have to have more HP than the next guy, just wanted to corner faster and brake harder. I grew to appreciate the looks of the 999 more and ran across a beautiful sample that I bought. No matter your take on the exterior it has possibly the best looking cockpit on the planet.
