What a nice bike!!!! I drove this bike around for a couple of days, and couldn't find anything wrong. The paint still shines great, all the chrome is in good condition, a real looker! The only thing it might need is a new set of saddle bags. It is the carbureted version. I love that is is carbureted, kind of an old school feel. This 2007 Triumph America is beautiful bike and in excellent condition. It has been garage kept and covered, and typically only ridden once a week on weekends. No short five minute trips, but decent 45 to 50 minute pleasure rides and usually about 18-20 miles on backroads where I can vary speeds and relax without traffic. But this kind of use only nets the 5,700 miles currently on the bike, which deserves a home where it will be ridden more. This was my dream bike and I hate to part with it, but my health is getting such that it's difficult for me to continue riding. The accessories added are the only ones you should need; a windscreen, a sissy bar/luggage rack combo, and aftermarket slash pipes. The modern Triumphs are as reliable as any bike on the road, but there is still a lot of tradition in look & feel of the Bonneville America line. '07 was the last year for the carbureted model, as well as the last year of the recessed gas tank, which pays tribute to the traditional look of the original Bonnevilles. I have also just replaced the battery with a new AGM battery, and set up the battery tender pigtails for the battery charger. I'm also including a new AFX full face helmet and shield, a Schumacher 1.5 v automatic battery charger/tender, a high quality bike cover, and a Triumph service manual. 2007 Triumph America PHANTOM BLACK, This was a project bike that actually got somewhere! Nick Serranos 04 was my inspiration, with a few of my own variations. Had the most awesome time building her, but time to move along. Throwing in a pic of how the bike looked the day I got it. Took about a year and a half to piece it all together, finding the best parts, etc. Its a super quality bike! Sounds good when she idles, but its when you really get after it, those cocktail shakers bark! Really like the Thruxton tank on her! My hat is off to who ever did the Bondo job on the tank! Had no idea until I stripped it that the dents were there! At first I was bent on replacing it but now, kinda dig it. Gives her character. You decide, but I like it. Between just the BC parts, tires and rims it was $4543.78 alone (I keep every receipt). Like all bike builds, way more goes in than comes out on paper, so some lucky person will reap my fruits. The Rocket III lineup has been part of the Triumph family since 2006, when a "Classic" naked cruiser started dominating the competition in terms of size, weight, torque and displacement. Triumph took the logical next step in 2007 by introducing a long-distance Touring version with windscreen and side cases. Torque to spare The impressive 2,294-cc, inline three-cylinder engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission that can handle the mountains of torque, as well as rather imposing tailpipes - the result is a commanding yet well-balanced look. Flawless ignition mapping and electronic fuel injection make it possible to get the most out of the engine's torque, especially under acceleration and during low-speed maneuvering. Room for everybody The riding position of the R3 Touring places all the controls and levers well within reach. Of course, the mass and size of the bike will accommodate the bulkier blokes (6+ feet, 115+ kilos). If you prefer a lighter bike, Triumph also offers the new Thunderbird (1,600 cc) or the even lighter Bonneville and America models. The riding position on the R3 is similar to that of Harley-Davidson Touring models with their mid-mounted floorboards (meaning your legs and back are upright). The hands fall naturally on the handlebars, while the neck-high (For me) windscreen offers adequate protection against the elements, except for violent crosswinds that cause some serious turbulence and take a toll on the neck and head. The compact display panel features basic lights and dials -- there is no tachometer -- while the (non-adjustable) brake and clutch levers require only moderate pressure from the rider. Relaxed, comfortable, exciting riding experience In the city, the R3 never lets you forget how big and heavy it is, then becomes quite agile and responsive beyond 100 km/h. The gearbox is pleasant to work with thanks to nicely calibrated gear ratios; you can easily make do with fifth gear from 60 to 160 km/h.
