2008 Kawasaki Klr 650, For sale: green 2008 KLR 650 13,933 miles (mostly on road, some fire roads) Included photographs from the garage were taken today, the featured photo is from our most recent distance tour, a long weekend in Portland. I originally bought this bike used in 2011 with ~9000 miles on it. Trailered it here when I moved from Florida, the bike is now titled and registered in Idaho. It had all factory recalls (rings being the big one) done before I purchased it. Since I've owned it, the bike has not burned oil (that I can measure). It's one of the few 08 KLRs that seems to not have the famous oil burning problem. I've done all of the maintenance, aside from tire changes, and although she's a dirty, dirty girl, this bike is in good to great condition. No drops, maybe some scratches on the plastic, but if you're looking at this bike, show-room condition is not your thing. Front tire has 90% of it's life left, rear has about 60%. They are both Continental TKC 80s. MSRP from motorcycle blue book suggests this bike is worth $3.480. I've added many things to this bike that have made it handle considerably better than stock, especially off road and at high speeds. I've listed the farkles below along with their retail price. I absolutely love this bike, but it's not good for distance touring with a passenger. Due to the presence of a special lady friend in my life who loves to moto, I'm selling this bike to upgrade to a 1000cc V-Strom. This KLR is a blast to ride, doesn't do any one thing spectacularly, but does everything adequately. I've taken it all over the Pacific Northwest, up into Hell's Canyon, and beyond, I think there is no better tool for going anywhere you want for this price. She has already seen it all but wouldn't mind taking you there too. She has just over 23K miles and has a lot more to go. She has battle scars from her various adventures. I think they're pretty. This bike is fully loaded for the trails. The Voyager is wired into all the sensory inputs of the bike, like coolant temp, oil pressure, speed, tach, and 4 odometers. It also tracks altitude, bearing, air temp, and full GPS navigation. You can enter an SD card with pre-planned routes, as well as track your route for later bragging rights. Recent maintenance includes an oil/filter change, new o-ring chain, and front brake pads. I purchased this KLR650 new from Powers Motor Sports in Michigan and have been the only rider owner since new. I have come to the age where this type of motorcycle has become too much for me. I get just too worn out riding any distance on it and sometimes have to physically pay for it for days. It has been a very reliable and good bike. I have maintained it myself except for tires which I have someone else mount and balance. It has not had the "doo" done. It is used and has front crash bars and pegs which show a bit of surface rust/corrosion. I mounted them after I broke the small piece of fairing shown in the photo. It usually has very little oil consumption except when loaded up heavy and traveling distances at highway speeds. It has been a very reliable bike for me and I stayed ahead of maintenance on the engine and wear parts, chain, sprockets, tires and a recently new battery. Please take the time to come and see it. I've got a 2008 KLR-650 for sale in great condition. Everything works on the bike, and its extremely reliable. Mostly used for commuting. Clean title with no liens, I have all service records. Runs and drives straight, these bikes are very reliable and the latest generation has some definite improvements over the old model: The new 2008 KLR 650 has: Beefier forks Stronger wheels with thicker spokes Better rear shock with a stiffer spring Lower sag on both ends of suspension More powerful front brake Powerful headlight Modern electrical system that can handle auxiliary loads Standard fuses Fairing for wind protection Bar-end weights for reduced handlebar vibration Slightly more powerful engine I've ridden both generations and I can say that the suspension upgrades alone are worth it to get the newer gen. Cosmetics: It was tipped over twice (once on each side) so there's a crack on each side of the lower fairing (pictured), but you wouldn't be able to tell unless someone pointed it out to you. Also there's a little crack next to the windscreen. All cosmetic defects that I could find are in the pictures. Engine: Valves were checked at 20k miles, mechanic said internals of engine look great. I have all service records, maintenance was performed at the same motorcycle shop in orange county. Tires: Overall good condition, front tire maybe has a season left on it, rear has decent tread but is getting squared off from commuting. Front tire was ran under-inflated for a while so it has a little uneven wear, but its not too bad. Registration/Title: Clean title, never crashed or anything weird. The registration expired in April, so there's a $64 fee if you're registering it in CA. I've done my best to describe it accurately, but if you have any questions please message me and let me know, and I'll do my best to answer them. Motorcycle runs great and I wouldn't be selling it if I weren't moving, but the motorcycle is sold as-is and there will be no refunds. Please do not bid on this motorcycle if you don't plan to pay. I am selling my 2008 KLR 650 with only 11,840 miles. I am the third owner of this bike with a clear title. It fires right up and runs great. Has new tires and clutch lever and is in great condition. The top end has been replaced recently and has a few scratches on the left side from being dropped by previous owner. I am selling it because I am moving and cannot take it with me. I also have a hauler to go with it that has had modified with brackets for extra support and cast iron tie down points.
