No matter if you are looking for an amazing bike to ride or race you should keep reading, Ktms are the best 2 strokes out there and produce more power than other competitors. Add in the aftermarket parts and quality that come from factory and you will see the difference. The closest comparison is the Yamaha YZ250 which costs more, has not been updated since 2006 (other than new graphics), and does not have these components. Not trying to bad talk yamaha but do your own research and see for yourself. This bike has 115 hours and inside engine is like new. I rebuilt the top end every 25 hours just to keep it fresh. Compression was still same as new. I purchased bike new for $7100 in fall 2011. It is in great running condition and has not 1 issue. Starts, shifts, rides, runs, stops, all excellent. I am the only one who has worked on it. Except for the suspension. I do not have the equipment or desire to learn. Full KTM FMF exhaust and jetted. Very fast bike. The unrivalled performance of the lightweight 2-stroke engine makes it a true contender against the more complex 4-strokes. For MY 2017 the 250 XC features gets an all new engine and chassis based on the ultimate 2-stroke motocrosser, the 250 SX. The cross-country world has a new premix king. Features may include: CYLINDER The cylinder of the 250 XC is fitted with a sophisticated TVC (Twin Valve Control) power valve, providing adjustable power characteristics. The power character can be changed within a few seconds thanks to two supplied springs for different tracks and rider preference. CLUTCH The KTM DDS (Damped Diaphragm Steel) clutch is fitted with a diaphragm spring, which allows implementation of an internal rubber damping system. Together with a lightweight steel basket and the Brembo hydraulic system the DDS clutch offers maximum reliability, excellent modulation and light lever pull. CARBURETOR The 250 XC is fitted with a proven Mikuni TMX 38 carburetor producing the perfect air-fuel mixture. For extreme temperature or altitude the setting can be tuned with supplied jets and needles according to a setting list in the manual. ENGINE The powerful KTM 250 XC engine unites an unbeatable power-to-weight ratio with outstanding performance and extremely easy handling. FRAME The modern frame design of the 250 XC, comprised of lightweight, high strength, chrome-molybdenum steel section tubes, combines maximum longitudinal stiffness with optimum torsional stiffness. LINKAGE/SHOCKABSORBER The linkage system of the 250 XC features a progressive curve with a high initial rate ensuring good stability. The high-end WP 5018 shock absorber guarantees outstanding response and damping characteristics. Compression and rebound damping can be adjusted to the track conditions and the rider's preferences. FORK The XC model range features the 48mm WP AER 48 fork. The setting has been specifically developed for racing cross-country in the US. The forks can be easily adjusted for compression and rebound via the dials on the top of the fork tubes. TRIPLE CLAMPS Top quality, CNC-machined triple clamps have been something of a KTM trademark for years. Ensuring precise handling, they provide proper clamping force for correct flex characteristics, thus improving the action of the forks. For 2017 the upper triple clamp features a newly developed rubber damping system for the handlebar clamp in order to reduce the vibration levels felt through the handlebar. 2011 KTM SX 250 F, A KTM is one of the machines that bring a lot of excitement to the shop. Austrian engineers have obviously been planning this bike for a while as the 2011s sees major changes on all fronts: engine, chassis, suspension and bodywork, many of which coincide with the larger KTM 350 SX-F and KTM 450 SX-F. Compared to last year the 250 gets better marks in all the categories it struggled in and it s an improved machine that offers a ton of features. The SX-F for 2011 gets a Keihin fuel injection system like the 350 which has temperature and altitude compensation along with cold-start enrichment. KTM reworked the cylinder head with dual-overhead cams and DLC-coated finger followers that are said to increase flow by 10% at the intake port. With the 2011s, The power still holds its top-of-the-line controllability and fun top-end pull but thanks to EFI, the responsiveness is now a form of brainless fun. Stop in and check this one out!!
