Condition: fairing in great condition, no damage to motor, I have not modified any of the stock components Features: dual sport, easy to handle in busy traffic, you can slip through alleys and split narrow lanes, the bike weighs about 320 lbs so you can be agile. It handles okay on highways with less than a 70Mph speed limit and is most useful in downtown area during rush hour. It will get you in and out of those hard to reach places in the blink of an eye. Top speed is about 90Mph. Seat height of 36.8 inches History: single owner, purchased in Santa Clara, mostly ridden in Santa Cruz county When I first got the bike I took it on a long ride and the engine cut out at 88 miles. There is a reserve petcock. Keeping that low range in mind, I didn't have an issue with commuting over the hill to San Jose. You can upgrade to a 4 gal tank which will give you a range of about 160 miles. I am willing to ship but I'd rather meet the buyer in person. The RDZ 400s is well known among dual Sport riders- the ability to ride any roads to get to and from off-road riding trails is very desirable. It has very good suspension with both hi and lo speed compression adjustments and adjustment for rebound damping. They're capable off road machines and absorb / tolerate really rough conditions often without effect. The power is impressive across a wide RPM range which supports the versatility for which they are known. This example I bought 1 year ago from a rider who had no competitive aspirations and used the bike as a weekend meandering machine that allowed him to wander virtually anywhere and deal with some forest roads, easy jeep trails and other less-than-good roads. The bike shows very little evidence of being ridden save for some scratches on the tail piece where, in the absence of a rear rack, one bungees-on a small pack or box. There's also 3 small 'dings' on the headlight surround. Why there? I don't have a clue but could be from branches that over hung a trail. If one looks at the typical areas where normal wear signals the type of riding the bike has been through, like the areas on the frame, above the foot pegs, when standing the boots will wear shiny wear patches there. This bike has no evidence of wear there. Another is to look at the skidplate itself. encounters in a 'rock garden' will inevitably leave 'scars' but on this bike there is very little evidence of it's even the 'sand blasting' on the lower portions of the bike that happens on street bikes. So if this DRZ has been ridden even slightly exuberantly I'd expect to see more evidence but it rides, runs, starts, and performs like my fiends 2012 DRZ. It does have 70/30 tires with useable tread and the chain shows no wear as measured by how much one can pul the chain away from the rear sprocket. Oh, I also have a new battery that will be installed before delivery. Really this is a pick it up, add fuel, and ride away bike. The rider was a senior citizen who had some very well cared for equipment and I was impressed. and bought the bike even though I didn't need another. They have such a good reputation.. It has been left as stock except for a 1 tooth smaller counter shaft sprocket , a case saver on the brake side cover and I put on 2" risers for the bars and added hand guards. Sounds too good to sell. Well, I have more than enough other bikes and the Suzuki is more capable than I need as well as I'm not comfortable with these high revving singles, but that's where the power is. If you're interested be aware that the bike is near Madison, WI and sometime after Memorial day I'll be away from home for 1-3 weeks so setting up a delivery option should be done promptly. Actually the terms must be " the buyer is responsible for transportation of the bike" however there may be an option that we should discuss.
