This GEM was a ( proto-type ) customized built, maintained and operated in an alternative energy company and this custom built vehicle was used for trade shows and for customer sales calls. It was and still is a solid dependable solar electric car. Custom modifications and welding / powder coating were contracted to a local hot rod shop. The Custom Hand Designed And Painted was inspired by the Arizona alternative fuels company. Seats were re-covered in white and blue leatherette. A stereo sound system was added as well as a set of alloy wheels with low profile tires and includes another complete set of original GEM factory wheels and tires. Battery charging system was upgraded. Main batteries are new and have a replacement warranty. The Secondary Battery which powers the on board refrigerator or other accessories is also new. One Solar panel charges the golf cart batteries while it's in the sun. For sale is this low miles 2 tone red and black King's Mountain Indian Chief Vintage that originally sold new for $37,500. It has a 105 cubic inch engine with plenty of torque for acceleration along with a Baker 6 speed transmission that is smooth shifting and allows the bike to run all day on the highway at 70 MPH in 6th gear at about 2500 RPMs. It's a great highway bike. It is currently set up with a solo seat and seat rail with a luggage rack, but also comes with a passenger seat, passenger footboards and a tall backrest with a luggage rack on it as well. It also has the stage one performance exhaust and chip installed. The paint, leather and chrome are all in great shape. The only issue it has is that the windshield lock broke off and may need to be replaced, although the spring loaded clips on the windshield hold it in place just fine without the lock and it can be removed from the bike with a slot screwdriver. I'm only selling it because I already have 3 other Indians that I like to ride (1 Polaris and 2 Springfield) and this bike needs to be ridden more than I have time for so I want to send it to a good new home. There is no warranty offered or implied with this bike, what you see is what you get, so please ask any questions you may have before you buy or make an offer.
