It was built and titled in Tennessee and has a Tennessee assigned VIN number. It was currently titled in Texas on 10/11/2013. The 2010 year model does not mean its only four years old, when a homemade vehicle is titled most states title it as the same year model. Its a good thing the motor was a German built VW that has a bullet proof reputation, because the rest of the trike is very poor. The paint is literally a rattle can spray job and they did not want to spend the money on masking tape, it has overspray all over it which does complement the runs in the paint. The wiring under the handlebars looks like a rats nest, but amazingly the blinkers work and the headlight and running lights work. The horn does not work, at least not with the horn button. The front and rear seat set the true standards for homemade, they look like a pillow that is wrapped in black vinyl. The seat is actually comfortable. It was built for a shorter person; the controls are cramped if you have long legs. The VW motor starts easily and it shifts through the gears, it has a volt meter on the dash and an oil pressure gauge mounted on the motor, show 40 psi on the gauge. The hardware all over this trike is rusty and corroded; the springer front end has good chrome as does the front wheel. The front tire is a new Harley-Davidson branded Dunlop, the rear tires are automotive style and in good shape. The chrome on the rear wheels is peeling. I have no idea how many miles it has or from what year the VW motor came from. The oil is clean and looks good. We are selling this trike as Is with any and all faults. We are not going to wash it or change oil. What you see it what you get. If you want a perfect trike please dont waist your time looking at this one. If you are in the mood to fix up a trike that runs good but looks bad this might be the right trike for you.If you live on the same street as Herman Munster you will make him jealous when he sees this one. Super Rare 1989 Pulse Autocycle Rocket Motorcycle  Only 347 made from 1985-1990.   Titled as a motorcycle.   12020 Actual Miles.  Built with Honda Gold Wing Water-Cooled 1100 Engine.   The tail fin and wing are not attached at this time but you will get them with this Pulse.  A little history on this Pulse Autocycle Motorcycle:   Date Built: June 1989    Original Color: White  Original Owner: Space Shuttle Inn - Titusville Florida    There are several pictures with the original paint and historical info showing it in use at the Space Shuttle Inn at Titusville Florida in the early 1990's.   It has been repainted with the Stars and Stripes combo.  Keep  the current color combination or paint it to suit yourself. A few scrapes on the custom paint, but one can live with them. An alternate term for the PULSE is an "autocycle". Its body resembles a high performance jet aircraft, yet drives like a sports car. It seats two (tandem) and has almost six (6) cubic feet of storage space. The PULSE has been designed to provide dependable, safe & economical transportation in a brand new form of fun machine. The 1989 model is powered by a water-cooled 1100cc motorcycle engine. The Pulse has driving controls like those in an automobile with a manual transmission. The PULSE provides a driving experience unequaled in any other type of vehicle. • Description:  The PULSE is a two (2) wheeled vehicle equipped with an additional two (2) wheels, located as outriggers, one on each side. The outrigger wheels provide balance for the vehicle when it is at rest or in a turn. As the gyroscopic action of the main wheels increase the outriggers no longer bear weight. It is impossible to tell which outrigger is touching the ground until a turn is made if the air shocks are at the right pressure. With no more than three (3) wheels in contact with the ground at any one time, the PULSE is considered a three (3) wheeled vehicle & is licensed as a motorcycle. In certain states a special category of license has been created, such as in Michigan, appropriate for the PULSE, an "autocycle."   • Frame: The frame of the vehicle is constructed of welded steel tubing, which in turn is fitted into the fuselage "shell." Steering is accomplished with a standard size wheel with a red PULSE logo in the center. • Power Plant: OMCC used to offer a 1100/1200cc four cylinder horizontally opposed water cooled motorcycle engine that featured a five (5) speed manual transmission coupled with shaft drive, using lead free gasoline. The 5 speed transmission and reverse gear allows the pilot of the vehicle to be in full control, using a ratchet type gear shift lever located in the right side panel. • Running Gear: The suspension is basically comprised of air shock absorbers mounted on rear and specially designed spring-over front shocks. The front tire is a 13" automotive tire. The outrigger tires are smaller 8" trailer tires. Brakes are located on the main wheels and are hydraulic disc giving the PULSE exceptionally short braking distances. • Aerodynamics: The body styling of the PULSE gives it a fantastic futuristic look, at the same time following form with function. The aerodynamic shape allows the vehicle to cut through the wind and results in unusually high fuel mileage and performance. The PULSE has ten (10) times less drag than a motorcycle and its rider. The body is also designed in such a way as to increase stability and directional control as speed increases. The drag coefficient is .193 • Driving: All you need to know is how to drive a regular automobile with a manual transmission. Controls are quite conventional. The shift lever is mounted by your right hand. Floor pedals are for the clutch, brake and accelerator. The only driving aspect that differs from a car is that you drive with your body in the middle of the lane of traffic instead of to one side. • Operational Characteristics: The driver of the PULSE does not lean into a turn as with a motorcycle or aircraft, but instead to the outside of the turn as you would expect in an automobile. This is most easily demonstrated in a low speed turn. At high speeds, such as when changing lanes, the PULSE seems simply to move sideways with almost no tilt at all. • Mileage: The most outstanding performance characteristic is high fuel mileage. Owners report figures of 50-55 mpg when driving normal highway speeds. One customer claims 70 mpg using an oil additive to the gasoline. Test vehicles have achieved as high as 80 mpg under controlled conditions. • Safety: How safe is the PULSE? One clear answer is that the PULSE with two (2) roll-bars, front & rear, seat-belts & a steel inner frame construction over a much greater length than can be clearly shown in photographs, plus the outrigger wheels to prevent turnover of the vehicle at normal highway speeds, the PULSE is for certain the safest motorcycle on the road today. Crash-worthiness is probably comparable to that of a small car. On the plus side is the fact that the fiberglass body of the PULSE can absorb and dissipate energy. The roll bar can handle six (6) times the weight of the entire vehicle. With a carpeted (option) roll bar, you sit within the cockpit and pierce the landscape ahead. The size of the PULSE is difficult to imagine without seeing one. It is much larger than it appears in photographs. • Licensing: You are required to have a motorcycle endorsement, a written test, on your regular automotive license. Requirements can vary from state to state. The PULSE is licensed in 27 states, all major market areas. Helmets are not required due to the roll-bar, canopy (equal to the strength of a helmet), and seat belts. The PULSE was designed to comply with USA Federal Regulations Title 49, Part 571.3 as a motorcycle. The license plate area is designed for a motorcycle plate and is placed directly under the rear taillight. • Insurance: It is insured as a motorcycle. It is usually insured as an Antique Motor Vehicle. Rates vary from state to state. • Maintenance: In case of body damage, the parts were readily available through OMCC and/or a technician familiar with fiberglass repair procedures. All the parts are automotive and/or motorcycle, easily accessible through automotive part outlets. Low pacer lets both side wheels touch down making a rougher ride and a tendency to slightly skid the side wheels on cornering. To get to the battery, the rear part of the body and the gas tank have to be removed. Screws on canopy slides and body need to be checked occasionally for tightness. • Speed: The 1100-cc - 1200-cc engine with 85 plus horsepower adds to the quick acceleration and passing speeds. Without definite test data at this time, you could be assured of speeds in excess of 130 mph. Acceleration is brisk. 0-60 in 6.7 seconds.  • Features: Includes AM-FM radio/cassette, lighting, radar, custom upholstery, air conditioning, a windshield wiper and the PULSE provides a heater/defroster with fresh air vents and pop-up head light with dimmer. It is a completely original unrestored car, with excellent patina that can only be exhibited by a car that has been well cared for its entire life. A "Doctor's Coupe" this car sports a unique dickey or rumble seat and some really interesting features such as the gyroscopic ash tray. The car runs well and has just been recomissioned with fluid changes and other minor maintenance items. A CCCA Full Classic, this rare car will be equally at home on the show field in the preservation class or is a great car for spirited touring enjoyment. Its hard to find cars from this era that have been so lovingly preserved. This is a special car. The first car from what eventually became AC was presented at the Crystal Palace motor show in 1903; it was a 20 HP touring car and was displayed under the Weller name. The Weller Brothers of West Norwood, London, planned to produce an advanced 20 hp car. However, their financial backer and business manager John Portwine, a butcher, thought the car would be too expensive to produce and encouraged Weller to design and produce a little delivery three-wheeler. Weller did so, called it the Auto-Carrier, and a new company was founded and named Autocars and Accessories; production started in 1904. The vehicle caught on quickly and was a financial success. In 1907, a passenger version appeared, called the A.C. Sociable. It had a seat in place of the cargo box. The A.C. Sociable was described in a review of the 1912 Motor Cycle and Cycle Car Show as one of the most popular cycle cars on the road, both for pleasure and business, and A.C. displayed eight vehicles on their stand, six for pleasure and 2 for business. The single rear wheel contained a two-speed hub, and the single cylinder engine was mounted just in front of it, with rear chain drive. The company became Auto Carriers Ltd. in 1911 and moved to Ferry Works, Thames Ditton, Surrey—at this time they also began using the famed "AC" roundel logo. Their first four-wheeled car was produced in 1913; it was a sporty little two-seater with a gearbox on the rear axle. Only a few were built before production was interrupted by the first World War. During the Great War, the Ferry Works factory produced shells and fuses for the war effort, although at least one vehicle was designed and built for the War Office. At the end of the First World War, AC Cars started making motor vehicles again, designing and building many successful cars at Ferry Works, as well as expanding into an old balloon factory on Thames Ditton High Street. After the war, John Weller started on the design of a new overhead-cam 6-cylinder engine. The first versions of this design were running by 1919. The Weller engine would be produced until 1963; it is possibly the second-longest-lived production motor in history after the Volkswagen boxer. In 1921, Selwyn Edge (who had been with Napier & Son) bought shares in the company and was appointed governing director. He did not get along with Weller or Portwine, who resigned less than a year later. In 1922, the name changed again to AC Cars Ltd. In customary fashion Edge sought publicity for the company through motoring competition. In 1921 Sammy Davis joined A.C. as a driver, competing in the Junior Car Club 200-mile race, for cars up to 1,500 c.c., at Brooklands. In 1923 and 1924 J.A. Joyce won the Brighton Speed Trials driving an A.C. In May 1924, at Montlhéry, near Paris, T. G. Gillett broke the continuous 24-hour record in a 2-litre A.C., fitted with special streamlined bodywork, covering a distance of 1,949.3 miles. In 1926 the Honourable Victor Bruce, an AC employee, won the Monte Carlo Rally in his 2-litre AC. In 1927, Victor Bruce, with his wife Mildred (The Hon Mrs Victor Bruce), assisted by J.A. Joyce, set a 10-day endurance record at Montlhéry, driving an AC Six. Selwyn Edge bought the company outright for £135,000 in 1927 and re-registered it as AC (Acedes) Ltd but sales, which had been falling, continued to decline. The company was caught by the crash of 1929 and went into voluntary liquidation. Production ceased for a time, and the company was sold to the Hurlock family who ran a successful haulage business. They wanted the High Street factory only as a warehouse (Ferry Works was not acquired), but allowed the service side of AC to continue. A single car was made for William Hurlock in 1930. He liked it and agreed to restart very limited production, mainly using components left over from previous models. An agreement was reached with Standard to supply new chassis, the ancient three-speed transaxle was replaced by a modern four-speed gearbox (built in unit with the engine), and by 1932 a new range of cars was finally launched. Production continued on this small scale, averaging less than 100 vehicles per year, until the outbreak of the Second World War in 1939. The final pre-war car was delivered in June 1940, after which the factory was fully involved with war production.
