1949 HARLEY DAVIDSON SOLO 45’ FLAT HEAD CHOPPER WITH CLEAN TITLE The ’45 Special’ is a vintage chopper that features an original uncut 1949 Harley Davidson Solo 45’ frame with 80’s chopper styling. This unique bike always attracts a lot of attention. The 1959 flat head engine was fully rebuilt in 2000 and has only a few hours on it. It features matching belly number cases and high compression aluminum heads. It looks and runs great. It even rides well if you dare! A suicide shifter, foot operated clutch, 10” extended springer front end and Z bars will bring a whole different perspective to the rider up to the challenge. The bike was built by NHRA champion Ted Cyr. Ted was a master machinist, engine builder and the first NHRA driver in the 7’s. Unfortunately, just as the bike was being completed in December 2008, Ted passed away. As a final tribute to Ted, his family and friends gathered together to fire up the bike for the first time but it was never ridden that day. The bike was then displayed for a few years until I bought it from his daughter Mary. This 45 inch flat head engine has great compression and is very powerful. The bike starts right up, runs, revs and idles very well. The open header exhaust sounds very healthy and the engine has no funny noises. It even starts on the first kick when warm. The 3 speed transmission shifts positively and quietly. The clutch works properly with limited slippage. All of the lights and switches work properly. The front and rear brakes work properly. Some features of the bike include:Aluminum high compression headsPistons tops are cast with “Made in the USA”Zenith Bendix 38mm Carburetor “Made in the USA” with custom manifoldNew spark plugsNew Drag Specialties vintage style 6 volt batteryNew 6 volt generator “Made in the USA”New chrome voltage regulatorPaugcho 10” extended springer chrome front endCustom made chrome Z bars mounted on 3” risersChrome open header dual exhaustCustom Z themed tank paint with matching fenders, primary and chain guardChrome tank mounted shifterChrome clutch pedal assemblyChrome air cleaner assemblyChrome foot boards 18” mini drum brake front wheelOriginal 16” rear wheel and drum brake assembly with chromed rim, spokes and hubVintage style 5.10-16 Chen Shin rear tireCustom dash panel with keyed ignition, toggle switches and indicator lampsNew chrome brake/tail light & license plate mountNew solo saddle seat with original plunger post Clean California title as a 1959 Harley Davidson1959 engine with matching belly number cases1949 original Harley Davidson Solo 45 framePlenty of paperwork with receipts and repair & parts manuals $8000 or best offer Delivery available, if you come buy the bike first

Harley-Davidson information on the model:W : the W family of motorcycles. Harley-Davidson (except in very early models) gives a letter designation for each model family. The W series at the time was the newest incarnation of the 45-cubic-inch (740 cm3) flathead motor, and was developed from the earlier R family 1932–1936.L : "high compression", in the usual HD scheme. The "low compression" W model was only briefly available

This is a very nice 1933 RLDE 45 cubic inch Flathead. One of only 65 ever built. I am willing to let this one go to fund other projects as I am lucky enough to have another of the 65. I bought this bike just as it is from a gentleman a few years ago he had known of and been involved with the restoration when it was done. I have never tried to crank this Motorcycle as I have plenty to ride and bought this one for my collection only to display and look at it. Of course we have won the local Vintage Bike Show with it. It is all there and I am confident it can be made to run. I had a 29 BA before that I also never tried to crank that had also been on display for years even before I owned it and after I sold it the Gentleman I sold it to sent me a video of it running with in a week of him receiving the Bike. I have several bikes and right now I am willing to sale several. I have a 1912 original motor in a 1910 style timeless chassis, a couple more 40s flatheads, a couple knuckles, a few panheads, two Indians , shovelheads of every model of every year , a few evos and some twincams . If you are looking for anything let me know. If you have questions just ask. You can call me 870-510-6175. I do not have a title for this bike due to the age most states do not title bikes this old. I am sure most of you Know how to get a title in your state. I do have lots of documentation. Mileage unknown ebay requires you fill in the blank.

I have a 1968 harley davidson police edition servi car. It was fully restored aprox 5yrs ago. speedo gauge is original and shows 22832 but I was told by last owner that it was only ridden a few thousand miles after restored and I have only put very few miles on it my self.I got it 2 years ago and have only rode it a hand full of times otherwise it just sets in the garage. I want it to go to someone who can appropriate it for what it is.it was restored fully from ground up and everything was kept to original as far as I can see even the tire type, everything redone including motor and transmission. Runs good is cold blooded but all these 45's are. It is a 1968 but still has a 45ci motor in it. It is a police edition so it is a LEFT hand throttle with right hand tank shift. Foot clutch also. has alternator on it for when it had the police lights and siren ( I did not get any of those parts when I got the bike)Everything is black on the bike and looks great, has a small crack in the fiberglass right behind the seat where it touches the frame, so it is not show room perfect but very, very close!fires right up and lots of fun to ride, gets alot of attention! These bikes are getting harder and harder to find especially in this kind of condition, it will be a great investment for the buyer. I had planed on keeping it but we just moved to some property and I need to do alot of work around the land so need the money more then the bike. It has a Arizona title, but im located in Sacramento California area. I never got around to transfering the title over to california.Im not a dealer and am a very straight up and honest guy, so I expect the buyer to be the same! Buyer responsible for shipping or picking up the bike. A $500 non-refundable deposit it due at end of auction through pay pal, and remainder of the amount is due within 7 days.will take bank to bank wire transfer, cash in person, cashiers check (must clear at bank before bike is released to buyer) Bike is sold in used "as-is" condition with all sales final, this is private sale so no warranty is issued. I have a great history with selling here on ebay, so there will be no funny games on my end. Thanks for looking at my add and good luck with WINNING this beautiful bike!On Oct-06-15 at 14:22:27 PDT, seller added the following information: got bike in Arizona , but I never transfered bike into my name here in california. so for out of country buyers I'm not sure if that us a issue for export? if it's a issue for export for you contact me before bidding.

I have decided to sell off my Harley 45” Flathead race bike to fund some other projects. This bike is pieced together from parts that I acquired from friends, swap meets, Craig’s List, E-bay, etc. First and foremost, I DON’T have a title for the bike or motor. It has an “assigned” VIN number stamped into the VIN pad, which appears to have been done many years ago. The 14H number plates are not included with the sale and will be removed. Engine: In assembling the motor, I used a lot of performance parts from Paul Friebus at American Cycle Fabrication (ACF), Bloomsburg, PA. Surplus/replacement cases with matching 1945 belly numbers (45-2610). As previously stated, the left case has an “assigned” VIN number stamped into it. The VIN boss has not been ground down. OEM WR flywheels and connecting rods trued and balanced by ACF. OEM cylinders and pistons are .010 over. The cylinders have been ported, relieved, and oversize valves installed, along with WR/Knucklehead intake nipples also by ACF. OEM aluminum heads decked, relieved, and clearance for the oversize valves. No broken, cracked, or chipped fins anywhere on the heads or cylinders. Linkert M53A1 carburetor rebuilt with rubber ducky float and 4 bolt WR intake manifold installed. Snap throttle also installed. Friebus C grind cam set installed. Four vein oil pump upgrade. Fairbanks Morse-HD magneto. Inline oil filter installed on return line from Marty at USA Racing. Dual exhaust. Transmission: The Harley 3-speed trans was NOS before I installed it in this bike. Date code F-3. Everything works as it should and it still has most of its original OD green paint remaining. Later style shift drum was installed. Frame: The frame is nice and uncut, with the only modification being the tabs that I welded to the top of the seat post casting for the solo seat pivot. It could easily be removed if the buyer wanted to run a pogo seat. It has a #4 hallmark on the neck casting. Palmer’s book dates it 1942. General: 19” front and 16” rear star hub wheels with Firestone ANS tires. The rear wheel has bead screws installed. OEM Harley springer fork with 7/8” stem and big twin rockers (servi-car). The front leg has a #20 hallmark. Note: the front leg has a very slight bend in the right tube. I have run this fork on several different bikes with no problems, but I wanted to make it known (see pic). Original Flanders parts: #8 handlebars (stamped on the underside), 4 0 risers (stamped), and inline top clamp. OEM tanks are 47-50 WL. Shift gate is from a servi-car. OEM bobbed, 3-piece, wide brace rear fender, which I believe is 46-48. Leather Bates style solo seat (possibly Selli?) and genuine Bates leather fender pad. WR foot pegs and clutch pedal attached to OEM straps. The rear brake is Harley WL. The bike starts easy and runs really well. It was run at “The Race of Gentlemen” last October at Pismo Beach, CA. It will make somebody a great C-class or TROG racer, or you could get a title and put electrics on it to make it street legal.See it run on Youtube: https://youtu.be/-OTbf2oVaHk Please call (no text) 570-956-111eight or email hutchjr7@hotmail dot com with any questions. Thanks for looking.
