Feast your eyes on this one-of-a-kind BigTwin Flat-Track Street Racer built by the legendary Cole Foster of Salinas Boyz Customs in Salinas, California. Cole Foster, owner of Salinas Boys Customs, has been constructing ‘rolling works of art’ since 1989. Son of Hall of Fame driver Pat Foster, Cole creates cars that are so clean they don't have lines - they simply flow, as evident from the numerous magazine features written on these customs that roll from the bays of the Salinas Boys shop in the quiet California town. At the 2001 Grand National Roadster Show, Cole left with the ‘Chip Foose Design of Excellence’ award for his 1956 Ford F100 Custom Truck. He also built Kirk Hammett’s (Guitarist / Metallica) famous 1936 Ford Coupe, which the Jalopy Journal called “the most important custom car of our generation”. Cole simply calls it "Kirk's 36" or the "Metallicoupe". Of course, Cole also built the Moon Rocket bike for 'Mooneyes', which has been featured on countless magazine covers in the last two years. The bottom line is this: anyone involved in Hot Rod & Custom Motorcycle kulture knows all about Cole Foster and his incredible work. He is a true artist in every sense of the word. This Big Twin Street Tracker is a great example of Cole Foster’s incredible craftsmanship, as it has a design & style all its own! Heavily influenced by the 70’s era w/ that Evel Knievel feel, this incredible machine will simply blow your mind when you see it in person. Features include: Cole Foster Custom-Built Frame, Custom Tank finished in Orange & Black w/ White Pinstripe (is there any other color combo for a Harley Racer?), S&S 127ci motor w/ Harley Davidson 5-Speed Transmission, Custom-Built Exhaust, PM Brakes & Clutch and lots of Cole Foster designed one-off components from front to back. When you climb on this bad-boy and fire it up, there is no way to describe the feeling without experiencing it your self. To say that it’s fast is a gross understatement! This is a two-wheeled Rocket that will put a huge smile on your face the entire time you are onboard. It’s completely street-legal (please check your local DMV) as it was registered in northern California, and features include: Low Beam/High Beam Headlight, Blinkers, Horn, Mirror, License Plate Bracket, etc., so registration & insurance should be no problem whatsoever. This incredible motorcycle is for the guy who wants something that stands out from the crowd, a bike that screams cool! Owning a motorcycle that was custom-built by Cole Foster is a very rare opportunity, as most of his commissioned builds are in the six-figure category. To obtain a Cole Foster custom-built bike in this price range will never happen again, so, if you have been searching for a special, one-of-a-kind machine, built by a one-of-a-kind builder, you have found your bike! A brief word about the Pantera Ford Motor Company under the direction of Henry Ford II(Grandson of Henry Ford) , and the ever capable Carrol Shelby, won the 24 hours of Lemans four years in a row from 1966 to 1969 with their GT40 Supercar. After winning four years in a row , and handing Ferrari it's ass on a platter, Henry Ford II made overt motions to Enzo Ferrari to purchase Ferrari and bring it under the wing of Ford. Enzo was very incensed, and told Ford II that the company was not for sale at any price. So.... Henry Ford II, went looking to purchase an Italian coachbuilder, which he found in Detomaso S.P.A. in Modena, Italy. He also acquired the Ghia studios, and the Pantera was born. The bullet proof 351 Cleveland V8 engine from the Mustang was chosen, and the German ZF five speed transaxle from Ford's GT40 race car was employed to stir the gears. The Pantera was sold through Ford dealerships in the US beginning in 1971. The initial MSRP was slightly over $10,000, though most dealers were selling them for around $14,500. This was about $6,000 less than a Ferrari at the time (in 1971 a new Daytona was about $20k), and the Pantera was noticeably faster. Stock zero to sixty time in 1971 was 5.5 seconds, top speed 175 mph (Road and Track 8/71). Less than 2300 Panteras were sold during their US importation of model years 1971 through 1974. After Ralph Nader lobbied congress regarding bumper laws, importation , and modification for the US market would prove to be too impractical for the US market. Detomaso continued to sell the Pantera to other markets in the world until 1996 on a custom order basis. This is truly an exotic and scarce automobile. This car was secured in 2000 and has had its original 351 Cleveland placed in temporary storage while a bored and stroked Big Block Ford occupy the engine bay. This 533 c.i. engine has more than enough torque to make this car an absolute thrill to drive. This along with several other subtle upgrades keeps the Pantera’s claim of being one of the ‘most modified production cars’ ever made. This Car’s History & Specs: 1973 DeTomaso Pantera Vin# THPNNR05796 with 60,000 original miles. Third owner. Did an engine rebuild and suspension upgrade in 2003 and then an 18 month extensive restoration starting in 2008. Less than 1000 miles since restoration. Car is being sold with a 533 c.i. (8.7 liter Big Block Ford) , done up with the Byars Brothers – California style conversion with 180 degree headers. This car was featured in the 2008 No.3 POCA Profiles magazine in the Fall of 2008. Has won over 75 awards in local events. Modifications and upgrades are numerous. The original numbers matching 351 Cleveland is also available for sale. Getting in and out of corners is where races are won - no question. And that’s why, like the new CRF450R, the 2008 CRF250R features Honda’s revolutionary new Honda Progressive Steering Damper (HPSD), improving cornering traction and stability while reducing fatigue. Add all-new works-style brake discs, power boosting engine mods (higher compression) and new cylinder (cylinder head porting), and once again, Honda proves the best can get better. Conclusion Innovative design has made Honda’s dual-muffler CRF250R a winner both on and off the track and it is more expected for 2008. With a great combination between power and sharp handling, this thumper promises not to disappoint and it doesn’t indeed. Lightweight titanium intake valves permit the use of smaller valve springs and reduce overall engine height. ACG cover, clutch cover and cylinder-head cover are made of magnesium to reduce engine weight. Forged 13.1:1 compression, slipper piston and rings are lighter than a conventional design, revving quickly while maintaining excellent cylinder sealing and high-rpm power. Lightweight, compact, internal, auto decompression system and handlebar-mounted hot-start system provide superb operation, hot or cold. Lightweight Nikasil cylinder lining provides cooler and quieter operation for extended engine life. 40mm Keihin FCR carburetor features four rollers on the flat slide, resulting in light throttle effort, smooth operation, crisp throttle response and excellent rideability. Carburetor features a throttle position sensor (TPS) that helps maintain a linear throttle response throughout the range and new jetting for smoother power response. Twin-sump lubrication system separates the oil supply for the crankshaft, piston and valve train from the clutch and transmission. This ensures a cool supply of the oil to the clutch, eliminates clutch and transmission material contamination of the engine oil, and reduces the amount of circulating oil, which permits the use of a smaller oil pump. Dual-muffler exhaust system centralizes mass and reduces turning inertia to improve the lightweight feel of the bike. Dual-muffler exhaust system also increases low-rpm torque. Exhaust system uses a lightweight stainless header and repackable aluminum mufflers. Gear-driven balancer reduces vibration and drives the water pump. Price is not a motive to complain and for the money, you will be a member of Honda Rider’s Club of America. How’s that for your next choice?
