Up for sale is a 1972 Kawasaki H2 750 Motorcycle. Built in 3/72. Only 3,070 miles. Frame Number H2F-13418. Engine number H2E-900396. No title. It does not run, Has been sitting since the 1980s. Turns of with lots of compression. Front brake will need to be Bleed. Rear works as it should. Clutch feels good, Shifts through the gears. It was repainted at one point along with the seat cover. Original seat pan, just needs a new cover. Pan is solid. Looks to be complete except for the side cover. Very straight, no signs of it being down. No damage on the motor. Gas tank has no dents. Inside does have some rust, but is solid. Fender and tail have no dents. Pipes have no holes. Some scuffs, minor dings. Overall The chrome does have pitting/ rust. 1976 Suzuki GT750 Hot Rod, Has pod air filters and Jemco expansion chambers, super bike handle bars. The bike starts, runs and rides good. Very fast and zippy. Always gets attention when I ride it. 43k miles on odometer. The Bad. Missing turn signals. Has some surface rust along with dents and scratches in spots. Seat latch is missing. Gas tank has some dents and scratches. The seal at the oil injector pump is starting to leak from age and sitting, and will leak after hard riding and extended riding, and will need looked at and replacing. You're bidding on a 1995 VFR750F Interceptor, fourth generation (4th gen). This is the iconic RC30 motorcycle that brought all the best Honda race technology to the masses. An aluminum frame coupled with a single-sided swingarm, and a nearly bulletproof powerplant featuring a four stroke 90-degree V4 with DOHC and 4 valves per cylinder producing 105hp at 10k RPM. It features a 6-speed transmission that is smooth as butter and very, very fast; it will handle highway speeds with barely any effort and even 6th gear has plenty of passing power. The aluminum twin-spar perimeter frame keeps the weight down, a mere 461lbs dry weight, but it's unbelievably stable on the highway. A 5.5 gallon tank will keep you riding for many miles on long cruises or commutes. This bike is considered a sport-touring bike, and has a slightly more vertical sitting position to make it more comfortable to ride longer distances. It's a classic, iconic Honda that has it all: the speed, the agility, the endurance for long rides, and the race pedigree. VFR owners know all about how amazing this bike is, and a few minutes of research on the internet can give you all the testament you'll need. But enough about that - you want to know about this particular bike. I purchased this bike to bring it back to life. The previous owner had a low-speed mishap on the left side and didn't ride very often. Fast forward many years later, and it certainly needed plenty of TLC to get it back to daily driving. I came across this gem with a focus more on the mechanical than the cosmetic. I wanted a potential daily driver for my commute that could handle highway speeds in stability and comfort but still be manageable in the city. I wanted it to be ultra-reliable and as low-maintenance as possible. I wanted it to be fun to ride. I found this VFR750 with some cosmetic faults and just a few mechanical problems that could easily be fixed and most importantly: the engine ran perfectly. I've completed all the mechanical tasks I set out to do and brought it back to a daily driver state. I ride it naked (no fairings) out of personal preference, and because the left fairing has some damage to it. I just happen to like the look of a naked bike, plus the photos should show you plenty of detail as to the condition of things 'under' the fairings, so to speak. Nothing hidden here. Also, it's garage kept. The next owner of this bike will have the advantage of having everything mechanical already replaced and taken care of - the only thing left is restoring the left fairing (not overly difficult or expensive, I'm told - or you could simply replace the left fairing completely for a couple of hundred bucks) and fix a crack in the top fairing. A coat of paint and it'll look as nice as it runs. The seat cover has some tears in it (possibly from the fall, I don't know - again, it's just cosmetic, see the photos). I'll throw in a new seat cover you can have an upholstery shop staple into place (grey color). I also recently picked up the rear seat cowl; it's red and it's ultra rare for this generation of VFR. Included of course. So, needless to say, this is an older motorcycle (twenty years old!) and it has clearly seen a few dings. Previous owner definitely laid it down and the left fairings have some damage. Mechanically, nearly everything has been replaced or reconditioned and it runs perfectly. At this point the only damage is cosmetic. Forks have been completely rebuilt, seals replaced, fork oil replaced, and brand new RaceTech springs installed. All electronics and lights work flawlessly. Headlights, turn signals, brake lights, all work perfectly. The previous owner deleted the rear fender so I added a small LED license plate light (it's the law down here). You can change it or remove it easily.Clutch has been completely rebuilt with a brand new clutch pack and rebuilt master and slave cylinder. Clutch is hydraulic - very consistent, smooth operation and far superior to cable clutches found in lower-tech bikes or 'race' bikes claiming a weight savings with a cable clutch.Rear tire is nearly new, front tire is still fine but could stand to be replaced. One of the mirrors is cracked but both are functional.Chain and sprockets are all brand new: D.I.D. x-ring chain and ultra-light front and rear sprocket set. Master link is riveted for performance and safety.Brand new air filter.New Renthal grips.Oil and filter were changed less than 200 miles ago with motorcycle-specific synthetic oil. Coolant flushed and replaced, hydraulics (brake and clutch) flushed and replaced. Spark plugs are all new Iridium NGK. Fuel tank internals replaced with brand new fuel level float + sender, and new petcock and primary fuel filter.Has an aftermarket non-OEM locking gascap installed. Keys are included.Inline fuel filter replaced.Fuel pump replaced and works.Brand new Shorai Lithium battery. (that's a $200 battery - feel free to look it up.)Includes rear seat cowl - those things are rare!Includes the full set of external fairings.Includes a new vinyl seat cover to replace the damaged seat cover on it now.It has the OEM Honda exhaust and has never had an aftermarket exhaust fitted to it.Includes two keys.The bike shows external wear - to be expected from a 20 year old vehicle - but is mechanically sound and runs great. The left fairing has some damage on it, and can be repaired.The upper left side of the top fairing (where the left turn signal sits) has a small crack. The duct tape on the inner side currently seals the crack, and the two pieces of duct tape on the top and outside of the turn signal simple create a seal around the turn signal. The crack is easily repaired.The bottom fairing is intact and in good condition.The seat has some tears on the left side. I'm including a new vinyl seat cover you can use to replace it.It's missing one bar-end. You'll notice a shiny aluminum spot on the frame above the right rearset (footpeg). The previous owner painted the frame of the bike black (probably around the time he painted it white with a black stripe). I was testing to see how difficult it would be to remove the black paint from the frame (the original bike has a raw aluminum frame.) Again, simple cosmetic work.Please look at the photos carefully! Always Developed in close collaboration with Aprilia Racing, Dorsoduro 750 ABS was designed by taking the best features of sports bikes and supermotards, producing a perfect combination of performance, technology and fun. Power, lightness and agility, but also directionality, responsiveness and steering precision are therefore its main characteristics. Aprilia Dorsoduro ABS has components, technical features and finish of the highest quality which contribute to the uniqueness of the project. For the entire Dorsoduro 750 range, as the Shiver 750 range and the automatic Mana 850 from Aprilia, 35 kW powered-down versions are also available, in compliance with the criteria of the new A2 license. The Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 is equipped with the best braking technology currently available. The front brakes feature 4-piston radial calipers, state-of-the-art for the motard market. The light weight, 320 mm wave discs ensure shorter than ever stopping distances. The bikes aggressive stopping power is emphasized by the mean look of the braking system, in keeping with the Dorsoduros overall styling. The rear brakes incorporate another wave disc, 240 mm in diameter this time, plus a single piston caliper. Both the front and rear brakes are fitted with aeronautical type metal braided brake lines to eliminate the sponginess associated with conventional rubber hoses and to deliver maximum braking precision. A sophisticated two channel Continental ABS system provides maximum active safety on the Dorsoduro 750. The ABS controller is specially calibrated to make full use of the Dorsoduros impressive braking power and tire grip on dry surfaces. Riders can therefore still enjoy this amazing fun bike to the full. ENGINE Numerous improvements have been made to the Aprilia 750 cc, 90 V twin engine, which now features mapping specially developed to bring out the Dorsoduros aggressive character. Improvements have been made to various areas of the749.9 cc engine with its bore and stroke of 92 x 56.4 mm. As a result the electronic and mechanical content of this V-twin engine sets new standards not only for engines of this size but for many far larger units too. The electronic engine management on the Dorsoduro 750s engine leads the field in technology and performance. The Dorsoduro features a second generation electronic throttle with Tri-Map selectable triple mapping. Three performance modes, Sport, Touring and Rain, can be selected from a switch on the handlebars (with the throttle closed for safety reasons). The Dorsoduro changes its character radically, depending on what mode you select. Sport mode gives you aggressive instant power; Touring mode gives you a smoother action, better suited to relaxed long distance riding; and Rain mode gives you ultimate safety slippery surfaces. The Tri-Map electronic throttle also means smoother, more consistent power thanks to more accurate and precise throttle control based on parameters including engine speed, gear selection, air flow, throttle position and temperature. Whatever mapping you select, the engine is always ready to deliver the best possible performance in terms of acceleration and rev range, giving you an amazingly satisfying and entertaining ride. The exhaust is made entirely from stainless steel. The collector pipes meet in a single silencer under the seat before splitting again into two tail pipes. The large volume of the exhaust system also aids engine breathing and boosts efficiency. Thanks to its advanced electronic and mechanical technology, the Aprilia V twin engine develops 92 HP at 8,750 rpm and a maximum torque of82 Nm at 4,500rpm. These figures enable the Dorsoduro to compete directly with motorcycles powered by far bigger engines. The Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 is also available, right from its introduction, in a restricted 25 kW version. The use of a ride-by-wire electronic throttle has allowed Aprilia to avoid cutting power right across the range, as happens with less advanced restricted versions. Instead, the power curve of the restricted Dorsoduro is identical to that of its full-power sister right up to the point where the permitted power limit is reached. The 25 kW Dorsoduro 750 therefore delivers far superior acceleration to the equivalent models of the competition, to the benefit of riding satisfaction and pleasure. FRAME: PERFECT BALANCE Aprilia motorcycles have always been acclaimed for the excellent chassis designs. The Dorsoduro 750is no exception, thanks to a chassis that makes it the best balanced and most effective bike of its type. The new Dorsoduro is easy and intuitive to ride despite its blistering performance. It is designed to be ridden at the limit under all conditions, to perform extreme power slides, and to blast out of bends under full power. The frame incorporates all of Aprilia's vast racing experience, and makes full use of the latest mixed steel and aluminum designs derived from the world of Super motard World Championship racing. The top half of the frame is a tubular steel trellis. This is secured to generous aluminum side members by special high strength bolts. The resulting structure is extremely rigid and light weight, and provides the best possible means of harnessing the exuberant power of the Aprilia V90 engine while still communicating a strong impression of lightness, high technology and Italian style. The 43 mm upside-down front fork with shell-cast feet has spring preload and hydraulic brake adjustable in extension. The lateral shock absorber with is directly hinged to the swingarm in a cantilever configuration and has adjustable spring preload and hydraulic return; the front and rear wheel travel is 160 mm, which is also in line with the superbike philosophy that requires effective and controlled but long stroke suspension. Both steering yokes are forged, the upper also anodized, as a demonstration of the excellent level of finish of the Dorsoduro. BRAKES: RACING TECHNOLOGY The 4-piston radial caliper front brake system represents the current state of the art for a bike of this segment. He rented a three hundred square-foot office in the old Merriam, Kansas Gas building, which he shared with two other businesses. Josh, with the little money saved from buying and selling cars out of the paper, purchased vehicles out of the Autotrader magazine and the Kansas City Star. He then reconditioned them on his own and made sure the few cars he had in inventory were in prime shape. Trying to invent different marketing methods, Josh wanted a bigger presence in Kansas City with his 9-12 car inventory. He began having friends shoot photos of him waiving in front of his vehicles. Being that Autotrader magazine was the prime place to sell cars, with Josh waving in the photos, he was sure to stand out. In 1986 John Zaslavsky, a local small business owner who ran a shoe repair shop two blocks down the road came shopping for a car not knowing what he would find. Josh and John’s friendship began that day. Realizing each others' passion for cars, John began assisting Josh with buying and selling cars. Eventually with the growth of their business, the two formalized their partnership and John sold his formal shoe repair business. Very quickly, John and Josh learned that the tool necessary for becoming successful in the car business was a steady and reliable source for purchasing vehicles. The days of combing the classifieds had to go in order to grow. With the introduction of cell phones in the mid 80s, John had the idea of purchasing ten cell phones and passing them out to local new car managers at new car dealerships. He told them, “When you're trading for a car, page me, and I’ll bid it for you, then come buy it.” This new method appealed to the new car stores because previously, the only choice was to take their trades to the auction and risk loosing money on a weekly basis. Johns phone began ringing so much that less than a month later, he purchased a second phone to carry on him at all times. Now with an ever-growing and steady source for purchasing vehicles, Josh and John's business steadily grew from a 9-12 car inventory to over two hundred, forcing them to expand. In the mid 90’s, John’s brother and son began working as sales people, bringing new energy and ideas accelerating the companies growth. Today the two run the day to day operation of the company with John continuing to buy cars as he did in the 80’s but on a larger scale, and Josh continuing to inspect and work with vehicles to insure a quality product.
